just popping in to change my ticker after doing 30mins on treadmill.

meowee 02-07-2007 10:12 AM

Oops -- I did it again --

-- but at least I do wear underpants when I go out in public.:o Yep, I got into the chocolate again last night. Well I can't do it anymore because I burried the rest deeply in the compost bin, under lots of other crud. Hey, I proved one more time that I cannot handle having chocolate in the house. It's always good to learn from your mistakes . . . right? :^:

Amazingly enough, when I totalled up my calories for the week, the average was within acceptable limits although I certainly could not call the last two days "good" from a nutritional standpoint. And now we come to my WWI . . . the nice little FFM let me get back to my ticker weight . . . and I know there is a downward movement in my future as long as I can just keep my act together. So, all in all, not too bad. :)

The sun is still shining around here and it is a couple of degress less cold (almost said warmer; but decided that would not really describe it) than it was yesterday. I've got to go out and pick up some tap washers so I can try to fix my kitchen faucet before I can no longer turn off the hot water -- the tap is almost going around in a circle. I probably should just call the plumber now and put him on a retainer or something; but I keep telling myself I should be able to do something this simple all by myself. :dizzy: I hope, I hope, I hope.

Anyway, Chickies . . . hope you all have a great moving and shaking kind of day. If we just keep doing the good stuff as much as we can, we will be rewarded. See you soon. :carrot:

Well, well, well, ladies....weigh in was yesterday at 6 pm. I'm beaming with joy and pride to announce ::drum roll please:: a 2.4 lb loss for the week!!! YAY YAY YAY!!! TOM hasn't yet got the better of me!!!!!! (YET!) If I don't start pretty soon, I'll be making a trip to the drug store for testing supplies!!! LOL I'm gettin' skeered! (That's redneck for scared!)

I'm at work so not much time for posting...just wanted to share my wonderful news (oh how I wish it were onederful news!!! I guess it time....I never was a patient one!)

Have a wonderful day everyone!

LadyLai 02-07-2007 11:03 AM

Good morning ladies! Well between now and tomorrow morning we're suppose to be getting close to 15cm of snow not to mention the temps are going to feel like (-) 25 with the windchill. Uhhhhh...I was really wishing for spring, hopefully after this spring can make at least an effort to getting closer. I've so had enough of shoveling and freezing and slipping and did I say shoveling? ;)

My mind has been so preoccupied lately that I haven't given my all to my weight loss. I'm embarassed to say that I haven't exercised seriously in over a week. I haven't grocery shopped for my menus, I've just been flying by the seat of my pants hoping not to gain which in actuallity I've been pretty lucky with maintaining. I feel so bad and I'm looking forward to getting back to a schedule and routine. Now I just have to convince my body it's ready for some hard exercise...hehehe!

Liza, girl you're amazing. You're quite inspiring in fact. Quite the exercise junky...LOL! Keep it up girl, you can't go wrong right!

Oh Linda, from one choco-holic to another. I feel your anguish. It's a very hard, tough, almost impossible addiction to overcome. Unfortunately I feel that I can't and almost to the point where I say I won't. I keep telling myself that chocolate is good for you, but deep down I know it's only the really dark pure chocolate...bitter in other words that is. But hey, if I can have an ounce of that a day..it's better than none! Hang in there girl!

Diana, woo hoo! Congrats! I'm so proud of you, you're really sticking this through. You my dear are quite motivating too. It's great to watch you really in the zone.

Have a great day ladies!

TTFN!

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee...

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the
jar was full. They agreed it was. The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous yes."

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things -- your God, family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions -- things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car.

The sand is everything else -- the small stuff."

"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls."

The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.

Take care of the golf balls first -- the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.

Today is a good day so far, though I'm not sure what I'm going to do for dinner tonight, I'm helping my friend renovate her new house and since they haven't moved in yet there's no food so its all takeout. I was thinking a pizza might be okay if I only have 2 pieces. Yesterday we had Wendy's, but I didn't eat much the rest of the day so I'm hoping it balanced out. I have a cold and there's a windchill warning in effect again dammit. But renovating is hard work, so yay me!!

PS; 5 minutes of intentional exercise done!! Way to go me!!

AndrewsMum 02-07-2007 03:41 PM

Linda, im so glad to hear you wear underwear in public, lmfao!!
im another chocoholic and have proved many times that if there is chocolate in the house it must be eaten. think its safer if i just dont buy any as i cant eat just a small amount.

RHIANNON . . . . . . Of course, now I remember. I loved that little story the first time I read it . . . sometimes, we get these senior moments at my ripe age. :)

LIZA . . . . . . Yep, my Mother was one of those who always said . . . "Make sure you are wearing clean underwear when you go out because you never know when you might get hit by a bus"

See you later, girls . . . :carrot:

RhiannonC 02-08-2007 01:49 PM

5 minutes intentional exercise done!! Plus all that painting yesterday, I suppose that counts for something too. I finally bought a scale, so now my ticker a little more accurate. Truthfully I'm not entirely sure what my weight was originally, so I thought 227 was a good place to start. I'll find out exactly what it was the next time I go to my doctor.

In other news my cat weighs 16 pounds, my dressing gown weighs 2 pounds, and my pjamasa 1.5.

Meowee; Honey I get those moments at the ripe old age of 26!! Nothing to be ashamed of!

Everyone; Thanks for the welcomes:cheer: they make everything a lot easier, knowing that I have a team beind me. And remember, I'm on your team too!!!

AndrewsMum 02-08-2007 05:10 PM

rhiannon, lol at you weighing everything on your new scales!

just done a 45min workout 40mins treadmill and 5 mins stepper. wish my weight loss ticker was moving as quick as my exercise ticker!

hope y'all have had a good day. night night XX

Hi gang . . .

Just a quick little HELLO . . . it's been a busy day and now I'm dozing off over the keyboard.

Keep moving and shaking, ladies . . . see you tomorrow. :carrot:

Louie 02-09-2007 10:19 AM

Hi Gals

Nope I didn't fall off the edge of the earth, I have just been extremely busy. Hope that you are all doing well and taking care of yourselves.

I am away for the weekend.. off to my leadership program, but I will try and make it here more often next week.

Take Care

LadyLai 02-09-2007 10:55 AM

Good morning all! Yesterday was my birthday and hubby came home with 2 dozen roses, a beautiful card and a cake that was/is to die for!! Need I say more? Scales came up a bit, but I know they'll come down again soon. I really gotta pull myself together next week. I say next week because the weekends (for me) are hopeless. I'm gonna sit down and plan my menus, once I do that it seems that everything else around me falls into place. I really can't say enough how important meal planning is...again...for me.

Rhiannon, it's good that you're still keeping health on the front burner while helping your friend. A couple of weekends ago I was helping my aunt and uncle move, and like you experienced...a lot of take out. I worked so hard that it totally balanced out in the end, just make sure you keep drinking plenty of water.

Liza, this body shouldn't deserve a break! It's been on one since last summer, I've been pretty much maintaining since then. Which I know isn't a bad thing, but this is far from my goal. I just would love to get to goal and then maintain..LOL! Thanks for the pep though!

Linda, Hi! Hope you're keeping well...I imagine you're a lot better now that the chocolate is on it's way to decomposition..hehe! Dare I tell you about the cake that's in my fridge with icing that melts on your tongue on contact...ohhh gosh it's good and even though he bought a small cake there's still too much left over. It'll be gone as soon as my dad gets here though! :)

Louie, Hi girl! Glad to know your still here, looking forward to hearing a lot more from you next week. Don't work too hard now, try to have some fun over the weekend!

Hope you're all having a great day!
TTFN!

GainingWeightInLa 02-09-2007 11:11 AM

Hi everyone! Well, yesterday was not a great day for me. I overdid it....not hugely, but hugely enough that it made me upset with myself. I didn't brave the scales this morning.....they scared me away. AND, we're going out of town this weekend with another family so I don't know how that's going to go. Hopefully it'll mean more exercise, though, so I can be a little overboard without it hurting me. If I've maintained at weigh in on Tuesday, I'll count it a success and not get discouraged. I'm not discouraged yet....hopefully won't get that way. Anybody got some pre-discouragement encouraging words for me??? :)
Have a great weekend everyone.....I'll be back later, but may not have time to post before leaving for the weekend. :)
Diana

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TINA!!!!

Happy Friday, chickies . . .

Another cold, but mostly sunny day and the long term forecast says we are in for the whole month of February being colder than normal. I can handle that as long as they continue sending the sun, too.

Well, yesterday was so busy I hardly had time to think about chocolate and my calories came out a little too much on the low side  So far today, we are right on track and I hope I can hold it together for the week. :^: Think I've found a way to calm the choco- . . . a little cocoa and some Splenda stirred into FF/NSA yogurt . . . amazingly good.

TINA . . . . . . Happy, belated Birthday, girl. Remember now, you never get older; just better. Glad your Dad is coming to polish off the cake for you. ;)

DIANA . . . . . . All you can ask of yourself is to do the best you can under the circumstances. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other, girl and eventually you will get to the destination.

LOUIE . . . . . . Well; Hi there, Chickie. Hope to see you again soon.

RHIANNON . . . . . . I've got a cat about that size (actually, almost 20 lbs.), too. He looks even bigger because of the hair. The vet says he is NOT overweight. I've attached his picture. Let's see your little 'lightweight'.

LIZA . . . . . . never you fear, kiddo . . . the weight ticker will do you proud, eventually . . . keep up the good work.

There was a thread on the boards a little while ago about how to weigh your boobs . . . thought you'd get a kick out of it (especially Rhiannon who is going a little scale crazy at the moment). Here's a link . . . http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...=breasts+weigh

Keep on moving and shaking everybody . . . see you all tomorrow. :carrot:
