It's a little chilly here this morning but I love it Jess is out of school today but we don't have much to do. Anyway, I might go to Super Target and Walmart later to get the kids some fall/winter clothings, that's about it.
Monet, thanks for starting the board. I hope to be back later after I do some tidying and cleaning around the house.
It is MMM...and I had hoped to be able to report a loss...finally. Unfortunately, I had a rather rough night, was up from 3 until 5, and then back up at 6, 7 and at 8 I finally gave up and got up and got dressed. The scale showed a five pound gain, which I KNOW is water...so I will check tomorrow and report.
Got my walk in...2 miles in 30 minutes. I am now ready to head out and run a bunch of errands. Tomorrow is pottery day, and I will head up to north Georgia. I can't go Thursday....so we decided Tuesday instead.
Man was it COLD this morning! I like to have frozen on my walk! I had my hood up and tied snugly under my chin, and my hands pulled up into my sleeves. I took the sunnier route in hopes it would help. It didn't. Brrr! Breakfast was a smoothie and a few pieces of beef jerky.
Ok, will check in later!
KENG: Brr! I think it is cold! I bet it warms up nicely though! Is school out today for some holiday I am not aware of? I know Gwinnett county schools are in session...saw the busses while out walking.
Julia: We're supposed to have snow tonight. Talk about CHILLY! I've never heard of Super Target! Is that new?
Sassy Chick: Welcome to our little corner of the boards!
Toni: I need a shirt like that for Junior. Only it could say, "Kitty: The other chew toy!" And many, many prayers to you, your son and your whole family. How is he feeling about it? Is he pumped and ready to kick some insurgent butt or is he wondering how he ever got mixed up in this mess? Keep close tabs on him for us!
Monet: Its amazing what a good nights sleep can do for you! I agree about Kyle and the teachers. Although, Kyle came home on Friday and said he was reading with Mrs. Herpel...who is the remedial reading teacher and the one I suggested sit with Kyle and allow him to progress with his knowledge. The teacher said she's for kids with 'problems' reading, not for ones that are ahead of the game, but Mrs. Herpel strikes me as the type that would like to take him under her wing and give him opportunities. I hope so. All I really want at this point is to be taken seriously and not have the teachers roll their eyes at me as if to say, "You don't have a clue, lady" It's driving me nuts! No, there aren't even any schools with a TAG program in our whole county! Apparently, "Its not in the budget" Heck...when Shelley's in band and it's snowing outside, she gets snow in her hair! They don't have it in the budget to even fix the roof! We're jsut taking it one day at a time and see what happens.
Thin: 47-9 is a huge blow out! Almost as if you want to complain, "If I'm going to sit here and freeze my cahoonas off, you could at least make this exciting!!" Great game!
BOB: That baby is BEAUTIFUL!! And, that's the spirit at not going to the game. There is much value in watching a game on TV from the comfort of your own recliner!
Solly: I"ve never seen Gray's Anatomy.
Thunder: TEN INCHES OF RAIN!?!?! WOW!!
Well, I have GOT to get out ofhere and walk the dog. I've finished my breakfast..oatmeal, half an orange and a quarter of a cantaloupe, and now Im snacking on graham crackers!! It's raining on and off, but I'll put on my raincoat. It's suppsoed to rain all week, so I might as well get over it. Cold, too. But I seem to sweat a little more in cold weather. Don't know why.
OH, and I saw a GREAT movie last night on HBO. The Island. I love Ewan McGregor and the whole story was good, too. You should watch it.
Monet : Today is "Student Holiday" (not sure what that means) and I know the whole county schools are off from Friday and Monday. Friday was "Staff Development". Wow...you went for a walk this morning? It was cold. Tonight should be close to freezing temp. Stay warm
TECH : Super Target is just a bigger Target with more stuff especially the grocery part...not the meat or veggies though. I am not sure what else is different from the regular Target but so far that is my observation.
Got to go, Chris is up from his nap plus Jess is in the kitchen trying to make some lemonade, better go check it out before she turns my kitchen into a war zone...LOL.
Oh my gosh I slept in so late this morning. Just got finished with my oatmeal and toast. Know I shouldn't have the toast to but for some reason I was really hungry. Walked on the treadmill and thought I'd never make it to the end. But got 1 day under my belt. I gained 1 lb. today. I'm so mad at myself I had allot of salted peanuts in the shell and that could have been my problem. I know for sure I won't have them in the house for awhile. To hard to resist.
Julia- It was so cold at my house today. We've got a fire going in the wood stove. Have a good shopping trip...
Techwife- Darn I saw that movie on HBO but wanted to check something else out. Wished I would have looked at that. My son told me its what he's been trained for and its his job. He's a Bradley commander so I hope that big thing keeps him safe.
Monet- wow you did some fast walking lady. Good for you on the 2 miles.
Good morning. I didn't make it thru the weekend OP. I've been worse so I'm not going to dwell on it. At least my clothes are still loose on me. I'm due to start my monthly at anytime so I'm starting to retain fluid. I got my followup doc appt tomorrow. But I already received my news that I don't have cancer or precancerous cells. So good news. I didn't sleep good at all last night so I'm feeling sluggish right now. Here's my menu for the day:
BF- was 4 egg whites and 1 whole egg, 2 sl red.fat bacon
Snack- crave control yogurt
Lunch- I made a BIG salad with boiled chicken, a little cheese, and veggies
Snack- dunno- probably another yogurt or diced peaches with splenda
Supper- baked chicken with mushroom gravy, 1 serv. brown rice, and asparagus
I just got in from errands...got to Costco, WalMart and came home. I still want to hit the pottery supply place, but I found a 24 inch stool at WM for only $16. I need it to be 18 inches, so Tom is going to cut it for me. The only 18 inch stools I have been able to find are more like $50 for a crumby one. Yikes! This one is fairly solid for just $16, so I hope it works ok.
I am really tired, so I may lay down for a little while. I have a private art student starting today. It is going to be nice, but I need to go plan a lesson. They don't want to pay me for nothing!
Took Kate to the Beauty Shop this morning and dropped her off and then set off on my errands. Had to get a car charger for my phone, Tippy needed food, put a battery in a couple of watches and even managed to get to DILLARD'S to purchase a pair of jeans. We went out to lunch and then came home. We've both been asleep till now. I've not been sleeping well again. Twice last week I had terrible attacks of RLS and NOTHING would touch it. I dread it, but I think I'm going to have to make an appointment with a Neurologist. I know there isn't a cure for this, but there might be a different medicine to take for it. What scares me is what the testing might be for it!
Anyone ever watch TAKE HOME CHEF on THE LEARNING CHANNEL??? If not, see when it's on in your area it's a great show!
As for the heat down this way. It is cooling down, and today there is a great breeze coming in off the Gulf. I've opened the windows to air out the house. I think I heard them say down in the 50's tonight. I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR DOWN HERE!!!
LAURIE....I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!! That's the outcome every woman like to hear!!!!
MONET....Had you said anything about considering private students? Anyway, I'm happy for you....you're doing something you like to do! Thanks again for posting the pictures of MASON....Yes, that's Cathy, and she would kill me if she knew I let you put her on the internet! As for JAY, he told his Mom that if she came home with a GIRL, she would just have to take it back because he wanted a BABY BROTHER!!!
KRIS...SNOW?????? Don't even want to think of it..especially the kind you get!!! Thanks for the KUDO'S on MASON...I can't wait get my arms around him...ALTHOUGH...they told us today that she can't come over the house. They have two DOXY's, two little ones (kids) and there will be a house full of adults. Kinda made me mad, but what's a girl gonna do. I guess she'll just have to stay at the hotel. I did that with her in Charleston and she was fine..just keep yor fingers crossed.
I'm so glad that Kyle got a good teacher...Hope he keeps getting the good ones all the way. It's sad to say,but there are kids who make it all through high school and can't read a lick! DID YOU GET MY PM????
JULIA...how did the tidying up go??? If you're finished, come on down this way.....I'VE GOT PLENTY FOR YOU TO DO!!! Oh...any recent pictures of the kids you can post?????
OK...gotta go fix some supper....HOW DOES FISH SOUND?????
Well went to the dr today. As I suspected it wasn't good. My A1C (checks my blood sugars for 3 months) was extremely high. My cholestrol also went up, not terribly, but still went up. So I have to be really good. My dr wants me to be really good for a month and see what a difference it makes. He wants to see if I can get my sugar and cholestrol levels down naturually. I am on diabetic medication which he increased.
So I got a bunch of books at the 1/2 priced book store to read up on. I bought Sugar Busters, a book on Diabetes and a book called skinny witches only you know what the real word is. lol. I am going to start taking my Fish Oil Pills 3 X's a day (lowers cholestrol). This along with a healthy diet and exercise I can bring down my cholestrol. I have done it before. So I KNOW i can do it. Now I have to also bring down my blood sugars.
So per my dr. NO soda period. Water, water and more water. Which is fine I do love water, the hardest part will be when I'm working. But I can do this I know I can do it. I am just looking at one month for now. If I can do this for one whole month, then I know I can do this forever! I mean after I get my BS (Blood Sugar) down and cholestrol down and lose weight, then I think I would then be able to be more flexible and have an occasional goodie.
Hub and I figure that for ONE meal a week we can "splurge" so we aren't going insane. I think that would be okay, one MEAL a week? AS long as we don't go totally nutso. lol.
So its back to the Y and exercising. My dr wants me to walk in the pool so that my joints don't suffer and that I'm not in excruciating pain. So now I have to find a bathing suit that I don't have to quit breathing in to fit into.
Well that is about all. Tomorrow is the gyn. what a way to spend my time off! lmao.
Oh P.S.........I am also back on my anti-depressant.
I hope you all are doing well.

Evening! I had a full day! I went to Walmart, Costco, Publix, and the ceramic supply place, taught a private lesson (I am going to have to figure out how to explain to her mom that it would be better not to have her sitting there making comments the whole time.) Tom was going to saw the legs off a stool for me so it would be the right height to use with my potter's wheel, but he is too tired to get the measurements correct...so I will have to sit on the bucket again this week.
I am sipping sleepytime extra tea, hoping it helps me sleep tonight. I am exhausted, have a long trip tomorrow and lots to do!
Dinner was a sandwich of roast beef and horseradish cheddar. I cheated and had some ice cream for dessert. It sure was good...Thankfully, ice cream is not something I want frequently.
I can barely keep my eyes open, so I am outta here!
Brrr! Hope everyone is staying warm this morning! It was down in the 20's here and I am not ready for it. I went and walked at the park last night while Rachel was at dance and only made it around once, I thought I would freeze solid if I tried to go around again plus it was getting dark.
Rachel is so excited about the Nutcracker. She was practicing her part out in Grandma's yard Sunday afternoon. She seems to be doing well, and her weight is holding steady. At least we are not gaining more.
Sean's band practices have dropped to once a week, so that is nice. I don't know what to do when I'm not burning up the road somewhere.
Well, I better go get some work done. (I guess that's what they're paying me for huh?)
Good morning. I didn't get on to post yesterday because I spent the day with my family. My sister is intown from Illinois. Things are pretty strained with her, for reasons you don't even want to know, but it was important for the kids to get to play together. It stressed me out and I think we'll just stick to ourselves today. We are going to the outlets up 400 tomorrow. I've never been but I'm hoping to find some clothes.
My Weigh IN had me down 3 lbs!! Finally! I've been so good, I needed to see more than 1 pound at some point. But I'm still pleased that I've lsost ever week, even if it is just 1/2 a poind. Just think, that's 2 sticks of butter..
Anyway, I'm off to the Y for my class. Talk to ya later.
Brrrr, it is cold here this morning. It was around 33F this morning but the temp will rise to early 50's so it will not be as bad later. Jess will be staying at school for lunch today so I have 2 more hours to myself...well, with Chris I didn't go anywhere yesterday so I might actually go to Super Target later.
Breakfast was a fried egg with ww waffle and a cup of soy milk. Lunch will be leftover chinese chicken stew and rice. I have no idea what's for dinner yet but I want to make seafood. Will see what I can come up with.
Some replies :
TONI : Peanuts are pretty hard to stop once you started to eat them. However, I would rather binge on peanut than cookies...lol. The oil in the peanut does make me satisfied especially when I have hugh cravings for bad stuff. You did good...I am sure the 1 lb will melt off soon
Dh started our first fire in the fireplace last night. It was ole so cozy and nice
HEART : I am so glad your results came back negative. Yes, you are right, don't sweat the history, focus on tomorrow You are doing great!
BOB : I do watch Take Home Chef whenever I catch it on TLC. It is pretty fun to watch. It seems to me Curtis mostly approached younger women....lol. I do have some pics of the kids, will post soon Sorry, can't help you with cleaning and tidying because I hate doing them...lol. I am just scratching the surface of my cleaning job so I still have tons to do. I am trying not to let the mess pile up too high...lol.
SASSY : I don't remember if I have welcomed you to this board but just incase, "Welcome""!!! I am only in my early 30's but am forgetful as can be...lol. Sorry about your test results. I am so glad you take charge of your health by taking the first step....getting tested and monitor by your dr. Now, you are taking another step further by learning to eat better, WTG!! You can do it, SB is pretty simple. It is not able what not to eat, it is about eating better. You do not have to cut many things out, just find a healthier substitute to what you like. I do allow myself some non-SB food but I control how much I eat and how often. Once you know how your self-control is, you will know what you should eat or what you shouldn't, or how your body react to certain foods. Some people just cannot eat sweets because it creates a major binge for them while others can...just an example.
MONET : You did have full day yesterday. Hope you get to relax today
THIN : Wow...20's is cold. It is 30's here but will go up to 50's today, which is not bad at all. Sounds like Rachael is doing well. You go girl..for walking in the cold last night.
TALITHA : WTG on your weight loss!! Sounds like you are having a good time with your family. I wish my family is much closer....muchhhhh closer...lol. They are all 24 hours flight away
Got to go to make a call to my sister. I was supposed to call her back in 10 mins (that was 20 mins ago) so I better go now. Stay warm everyone
It's been a couple crazy days here. Finally got our bid finished. Now to wait to see if we go the job or not.
Got in 45 minutes at the gym last night. I had to work late then meet up with the family there. Should get there tonight. Dinner is cooked (spaghetti) and nothing else planned.
Nothing going on with me.
Toni, You and your son are in my prayers. I pray that he is safe and returns home soon. I thank goodness there are people like him. You must be very proud, but very afraid. How long is his tour, do you know? I'm going to talk my DH into a fire tonight too.
Bob, those pics are adorable. When you you go visit? It's not fair that you are still having a fall when we are having winter already. I'm packing my bags. Aren't you supposed to be off that leg?
Sassy, welcome to our group. This is a great place for support and friendship. Ask any questions you may have.
Keng, it is cold here too. In the 30's. It seems we did not have a fall at all. I hate it too.
Monet, have a good time in the mountains today. I didn't know you were doing private teaching. Any word on the other job? Walking in the cold, burns more calories.
Tech, Snow? so soon? I hope not.
Heart, so glad the dr report was good. Just put that weekend behind you.
Thin, isn't it funny how we get so used to running the kids everywhere, when it slows down, we don't know what to do with ourselves. Enjoy your free time.
Talitha, congrats on your big loss. That is awesome. Enjoy your family if you can.
