Good morning, everyone! I just came in from the pool. (which is about 75-80 degrees, Solly) I spent 45 minutes doing water jogging and when I got in, felt bad. Sure enough, my blood sugar levels were too low! WAY too low...so I had a sour apple glucose tablet and if I don't quit feeling shaky, I am heading for the chocolate truffles! (they are SO motivating to exercise until my glucose levels are too low, so I can raise them with chocolate!)

It is hot here, but I think I avoided the worst heat by doing my exercising early. I thought about going for a walk at 7 this morning, but the weather report said it was already 80, and I thought no way!

TALITHA: I think you SHOULD go let your MIL take care of you. Glad you are home and doing well.

Later!

Hi everyone,

Glad to see everyone is doing good. I mowed my lawn yesteday so was to tired to post. It was so thick and high because of the rain we got last week. I felt like I was bushhogging with my push mower....lol.

Talitha-Congrats!!!!! What a cutie. Enjoy him, they grow up so so fast. My baby Ashley starts Pre-K this year. I just don't know where the time has gone. Having had C-Sections myself I can say run on to your mom in laws. It takes a week or so for the soreness to go away.

Everyone have a wonderful SB Day!!! Take care!

AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!!

Had to come home from the GRIND...After losing so much sleep, I was just dragging, brain fog, sick to my stomach (but not sick...go figure). I didn't want to say I was sick so I said Kate has to go to some appointments this afternoon. I've already told her and she's cool with not answering the phone just in case.

I slept good last night. When my body finally gave up that is. I didn't eat all day until supper last night and that's probably why my stomach is upset. PLUS this DANG HEAT....the heat index is 96 and climbing...not a breeze stirring! I'm too old to lose sleep like this...I've been taking my LUNESTA, but I think I need to try the new one that is out that keeps you asleep. Going to sleep isn't my problem...it's staying asleep.

MONET...I don't like hot tea, does this have a good flavor? AND can I drink it with my lunesta???

JACKIE...Yes, I slept but it just wasn't enough...Glad to hear your blood work was good. Now, Let's Keep it that WAY!!

TALITHA!!!! So glad the two of you are home safe and sound. Yes, let the MIL pamper you and spoil the baby...offers like this don't come along very often! Lucas is adorable! Why, I think he looks like his AUNTY BOB!!!!

KRIS...Poor Junior...have you not shaved him this summer? Why not take him to the river too!

THUNDER...you've got to watch mowing in this heat...GET A GOAT!!!

OK, I'm off to recline a little while...I'll be back

Just a quick check in.

Talitha, glad you are home and all is well. Lucas is such an angel. Staying with your MIL is a great idea, but can't she come to your house? It sure would be eaiser for her to pack up then you. If not, go on and go.

Monet, I'm surprised your pool is that cool. The one we go to is already 85 and you are further south.

Bob, sorry you didn't get enough sleep. I didn't either and it's all I can do to keep my eyes open. I can't leave though. I think age has a lot to do with not staying asleep. I wake up at least 3 times to go potty.

Thunder, Hi, we have to cut grass tonight too and it's 96 here. DH thinks since I helped him once or twice before it is now OUR job. We are like a tag team cutting it. I'm looking into a riding mower if I'm going to be involved.

I just woke up from a 45 minute nap. Hypoglycemia always wears me out...I am still dragging. I need to go to the credit union though. so I am trying to get tough with myself!

SOLLY: I am not sure why, but it has stayed cooler this year. It may have to do with the constant refilling it due to a leak in one of the valves. Oh, and the pen that was empty last night was Byetta...not insulin! I am proud of the fact I got my sugars under control without insulin.

BOB: I think the sleepytime would be good iced. It is just herbal...the the Sleepytime Extra has valerian root in it. It IS relaxing...

Off again! Gotta go to the credit union!

Hi all we got back from San Antonio late last Thursday but as usual it has taken me a few days to get back into life!

Now I know you all will say "duhhhh!!!" but I still have to remark how much better I feel and how much more energy I have now that I have a few days of legal eating back under my belt (pun intended!)

I don't know if I have previously mentioned it but my Sis and I are going to fly to Nashville Aug 18 to attend a weekend with Paula Deen the food network chef. We finally received the itinerary and I found out that my return flight left too early to enjoy all the activities on Sunday. It cost me 179.00 to push the flight back later in the afternoon making my total flight cost from Wichita around 500.00! Ouch! I decided to do it though because this is such an unusual thing for me to have a weekend alone with my Sis. But still ouch!

Another gripe. On our way to San Antonio we spent the night with my Sister and her family in Dallas and planned to leave Sunday to finish the drive. My husband was handing out medication and we realized our 18 year old had forgotten one of his. Now could this have been his sodium pills or some other simple one?
Of course not it was the super duper expensive one we order from Canada so we can afford his medicine and eat too!!!!!!!
So after resisting the urge to strangle this kid we called the doctor and had him call in a weeks worth of this medication which we picked up and put on the almost clean credit card to the tune of over 200.00
And this is the child who thinks he is mature enough to go to college on August 13!

Bob, I was excited about your bargain pressure cooker. I have never had the nerve to try one though.

Talitha, Beautiful baby! Congratulations. At least you didn't have to have an emergency C section like I did. One minute I'm peacefully in the hospital room and the next minute they are wheeling me into surgery! I love the name Lucas. May he always be a joy to you.

Solly, Heart, Monet, Country and all Hi. Hang in there summer will be over some time.

Does anyone besides me miss Pancho?

Hey, all. Today, Ashley is sick. She had a headache this AM, so I gave her some tylenol and sent them off to the babysitters, just to get a call from the babysitter saying she had a fever,etc..and she didn't want "her" kids to catch it. Well, um..the whole reason my kids are sick is because hers were sick FIRST the week before last. Anyway, I held all that in and didn't say anything to her out of line because there is only 1 week left before school starts and I won't need the babysitter anymore(thank goodness!). So I managed to get in touch with my Dad who went and picked her up from the babysitters so I didn't have to miss today. I already missed 3 days last week with Boogie. I just hope she is better in the morning. Oh yea, then my Dad got Ashley and left Boogie there! So now after work I have to still go pick up Boogie and then go pick up Ashley..grrr. Anyway, the good news is that my appetite isn't the greatest which is helping me stay OP,lol. I am looking forward to supper, though. I've already got it made..taco salad. I got the meat done, tomatoes and onions diced...yummy. Here's my menu:

pre-bf: grapefruit
BF: protein shake and boiled egg
Lunch: big salad made with tuna, 1 egg, veggies, a little cheese, lite dressing
Supper: will be taco salad made with veggies, taco meat, cheese, salsa, sour cream, going to try and skip the refried beans.

Alright, I need to get back to work!

Talitha: WELCOME HOME!!

Bob: Actually, they say that the fur helps keep OES's cool. It makes me hot just to look at him. But I'm going to get him shaved down again soon. We missed about three days of brushing him and now he's one big, gross matt. I like him better short, anyway. I know...doesn't seem to make sense to get an OES and not like his fur, but I feel the need to remind everyone that getting him wasn't my idea!! But I love his personality, he's a GREAT DOG!! He's just gross with all that fur, so off with the fur!!

Okay...I'm not again...going back into the living room. We only have a window AC unit, next to the couch. Talk to you guys later!!

Wink Hey Everybody!

Today has been pretty busy! I did laundry, and straightened up the house. Went to Curves at about 10, then came home and watched some TV. When DH got home, we took the kids to get School Shoes... that was the last thing to get, I did clothes shopping with them yesterday and I swear I thought I must have 2 teenage girls. They were trying on everything! My oldest starts high school on Thursday and so I let him have a lot more freedom with what he chose to buy, I know it's a "status" thing, but he's a good kid and he is in the National Honor Society, so I don't mind letting him buy things that keep him from feeling nerdy or he might do what I did and start getting worse grades so the popular kids don't pick on him! Isn't it sad that it comes to that? My 4th grader barely cares if he matches.. LOL.

LAURIE - Sorry Ashley is sick! Hope Boogie doesn't get it! Don't forget to get some rest yourself, they need you WELL

BOB - I can't sleep at night either. It takes me FOREVER to fall asleep to begin with, and then when I do, this darn bladder surgery has me waking up every night to go pee! Then I can't go back to sleep! Grrrrrr!!! I really hope regular exercise helps me in that department! And our Penney's DOES have that pressure cooker, but I decided not to get one. I honestly wouldn't use it and I'm trying to quit buying things just because I can get a good price!

TALITHA - That Lucas is absolutely adorable! Girl... LET your MIL take care of you!! You will be so glad to get the extra rest and help! Take good care of yourself!

MONET - Glad you got your sugar back up! I started out as hypoglycemic when I was in elementary school, and have actually had a bg reading (by a nurse!) of only 24 and been conscious and talking!! As an EMT, I've medflighted patients much higher than that who were unconscious! Everyone is different. Ever since I started exercising every day, my bg has been much lower!! I've gone back to the glucophage because it's available in smaller doses, and I'm down to 1500 from 2000 mg a day! I think I'll stick to my pills, even with a pen, I get creeped out with sticking myself other than the finger or arm!! I even bought a Freestyle Flash so I could stick my arm instead of fingertip! I don't mind sticking anyone else, and starting IV's in moving vehicles, but it's all I can do to check my bg! I still hesitate before I push the button on the lancet-pen!!

Well, it's past my bedtime... or at least the time I go lay down and try to sleep! Everyone have a great night... see y'all tomorrow!!

Well, it's still HOT this morning, but not as bad as yesterday. T-storms will be coming in soon and it should be mostly hot thunderstormy for most of the day. I'm taking the kids out for breakfast this morning to meet some of my friends...we meet every first Wednesday at 9am.

Anyhow...got a question. Okay, so I interviewed for the lunch lady job last week and I'm supposed to find out today if I got it. BUT, yesterday I found out they are looking for a Teacher's Assistant at Kyle's school...which I can walk to. So, I'm applying for that as well....because I'm assuming it'll have longer hours and MUCH less gas to get to and fro. So, if I'm offered the job at the Middle School, what do I say about applying for the one here? Should I just not say anything and if I get the TA job, then tell them I got a better offer? I'm thinking that's the way to go because what if I don't even get an offer for the TA job and risk losing the Middle School job? I'm also thinking that the TA job is to help the kindergarden teacher handle a problem little boy that was in Kyle's preschool last year. I don't know why they dont' send him to a school for kids with special needs, but they want him amongst the kids here, for some reason. But he's a real pain and always goes up to kids and tackles them and wrecks the stuff they're working on...which sends Kyle into a total tailspin of emotion. Anyway...if the job means taking care of him, it'll probably be temporary because the family moves about every year and I'm assuming if he moves, I'd be out of a job. I have to go to the school and ask about it this morning when I go for breakfast.

Okay....I have my coffee ready...will do replies later on.

Morning! I slept well last night. I don't think I woke up even to pee...amazing for me! I am contemplating a walk, but my back is cramping and it always makes a walk unpleasant when it does that. At least I can opt for water aerobics if I don't get the walk in. I SHOULD do some weights too...

Not much on the schedule today. I am working on my letter of resignation. I go between wanting to write a book, to short and not so sweet. I need to finish it and mail it already!

I guess I will wander down, take my shot and have some breakfast. I will check in later!

TECH: Hmm...find out about the TA job at Kyle's school, and then worry about it. It might not be something you would want. You were kind of excited about the lunch lady job. Are you SURE you want the TA job? Think about it. Consider too, which kid you want to spend the time with. Shelley is getting older, and your time with her is rapidly dwindling...

Monet: EXACTLY. In fact, Kyle would probably do well to have some distance from me, in a way, and Shelley would do well with a little more from me at this juncture. She's been sort of on the back burner since Kyle's been born. We do TONS together, but the elementary school still haunts me thinking of all the time she was there that I missed. I'm thinking gas because the middle school is about 8 miles from here and the price of gas gives me such a RASH!! But I'm going to talk to the principal at the elementary school this morning, just in case. I know, someone was talking about the kindergarden teacher wanting an assistant to deal with the problem child and if that's the job, then I don't think I can do it because, he breaks my heart...he's always unclean and soooo not well taken care of. I can't stand to see such unfit parents neglecting a child to that extent...that they need to hire an assistant just to handle one unruly kid. I think I'd lose my mind after about a week.

Hi Ladies,

Nothing exciting with me today. Went to the gym for about an hour last night. Should get there tonight too. Didn't cut grass, DH said it was too hot. I thought we should have done part of it. We won't be able to get through it soon.

Monet, you should be proud that you have your bg levels under control w/o insulin. I know so many diabetics that don't control it with diet and exercise and have no concern with their health. I didn't realize you had decided to quit all together. Now what will you do? I slept all night too. Very unusual for me.

KayeC, glad you had a nice trip. Bummer about the meds. Seems like there is always something to spoil the trip. You should have a nice trip with your DS. That sounds like fun. I love all those cooking shows. yes, I miss Pancho too. I always loved her posts.

Heart, sorry Ashley is sick. Maybe it was a good thing your dad leaving Boogie at the sitter, maybe he won't catch what she has.

Beth, my DD was in NHS too. She had no problem with not fitting in. High school is a big adjustment, hope he loves it.

Tech, definately consider all your options. Go to the TA interview and see which one suites you best, money, etc.

Hey, all. I guess the taco salad last night has me retaining some weight from the salt. I hopped on the scale expecting a loss but NADA. But I know that I had to have lost something because my legs and belly aren't as big as they were Monday morning. Maybe I will see a loss tomorrow. Guess I need to start using my own spices for the Mexican food instead of the store packets. I overslept and also had to leave early this morning(meeting), so I didn't get my workout in this AM. Gotta make sure I get in 3 more days this week. Here's my menu:

BF: 2 boiled eggs, 2 % cheese square
Snack: yogurt
Lunch: Smart Ones LC dinner and yogurt
Snack: 14 almonds
Supper: I think I took out some hamburger meat(?) Guess it will spaghetti
