  • Another day of near or perfect eating. Dinner was broccoli and chicken stir fry with brown basmati rice. I ate less than a 1/2 cup of rice. I did eat some imitation crab meat...man, the brand I got was higher in carbs than any other one I have every gotten. I walked before and after dinner. I am pooped!

I will try and do a good long post in the morning. I spent 30 minutes tonight looking through stuff for a book I borrowed from my neighbor that she has asked me to return. I can't find it anywhere! I am going to have to purchase another copy of it...and I just BET I will find it as soon as I do!

I had a meeting tonight too with one of my team members. Great gal! She has taken on a LOT of the festival stuff for me. Yay!

Ok, off to get ready for bed!

    Night all!

  • Good morning ladies.

Nothing to report with me. We went to the gym last night and will get there tonight. Tomorrow I am on my own, so I will probably just do the at home later in the evening. We have to run by the funeral home before we go to our club meeting. (We were just there Sunday for someone else). By the time we get dinner, it would be too hard to fit the gym in. DH wants to cut grass instead. That will be the last night of exercise this week for me. Too many acitivities going on.

    bf: protein bar, strawberries
    lunch: chef salad (homemade)
    Dinner: meatloaf, fresh broccoli.

Monet, with all your church groups and other friends I'm surprised that there isn't someone you could walk with. You need to ask around. There is no reason for you to be embarrassed, that is what we are here for, to suppport each other and lesson. I fight the same thing you do with the meds. I have 2 that I take that promote wt gain. I just have to work extra hard at it and it is very discouraging. Try to think about the health aspects.

Teensy, you will have to post some pics of your new rooms. Sounds like you all have been busy busy, but you are doing great still getting in your exercise. Has Bill tried epidurals for his back? I have had several of them and they really help.

Tech, I love romance novels. The more risque the better. You should get back to it. You always have such entertaining posts, I think you have the nack. I always wanted to right when I was a teenager.

KayeC, congrats on the 2 lb loss

Gator, I'm so sorry about your BIL. That is a fear all cancer survivors live with daily. He will be in my prayers. You don't even want to get me started on the immigrant protestors.

Cindy, glad you don't have OT this week. You are doing great with your exercise. Sometimes we get off course for some reason or another. You will find your way back.

Munch, how awful for that family. It is nice of your group to help them out. I don't know how the Run for the Rose' got started. It has grown bigger and bigger over the last few years. It used to be bartenders, restaurant people, now corporations get teams.

Got to run, have a great day.
  • Good morning! I slept in this morning, and here it is almost 10 and I just now finished breakfast! James is still home...he over slept...so I will have to take him to work soon. He just had breakfast with me. I asked him about MP3 players...and hinted they ought to get me one for Mother's Day. I hope they take the hint. I would love using one on my walks. I am hoping to increase my distance soon. I am averaging 1.5 to 2 miles most days, and by the end of the summer, I want to be consistently walking 3. So here is my menu:

B- 2 eggs, over easy, dry whole wheat toast, espresso with cream

    L- salad, chicken salad

    S- if necessary, nuts

    D- meatloaf, broccoli

I could not find the book I had borrowed from my neighbor, and had to order a new copy this morning for her. It went up $2 since I looked at it last year, and is not worth the $17 I had to pay for it! I don't WANT a copy, but I know as soon as I take the new one out of the box, the old one is going to show up where ever it is. At least I did not have to pay for shipping.

Today, I have to teach the fifth grade. I only have one more week after this with them. It is hard to believe school is almost over! I have a ton to do to be ready for summer vacation. There are piles and piles of pictures to go through and I have six of so drawers just stuffed with worksheets I need to organize, as well as cabinets to clean and organize.

SOLLY: You are such an inspiration with the exercise! I would love to join a gym, but its the same with walking alone...I would feel a lot better about it if I could join with someone. Walking around here is hard...I have one friend who lives two doors up who I try to get to walk with me, but it is like pulling teeth to get her to go. She really should, but is good at justifying NOT going. My church friends do not live near me, and my co-workers work full time, where I do not. I have lots of friends, but just no one near enough to walk with... I keep at Laura to walk with me and she does some, so maybe eventually, she will be helpful. Last night, Ruth and I walked, and my team member did too. The team member just completed a triathalon, and was talking about it. OH, to be young...

MUNCH: I will certainly be praying for that family! Something like that happened to the father of one of my son's friends in high school. He was sitting in his car outside his dry cleaning business, organizing checks to deposit and someone shot him in the back of the head. They took the checks, but there was no cash, which is what they were looking for. Its so devastating to the family... I know my son's friend still suffers from that even now, ten years later.

CINDY: That is so awesome that you are enjoying the women's ministry so much! It is wonderful that your daughter and niece are in it too. How I would LOVE to be able to go to something like that with my daughters...but they balk so much. Enjoy your 40 hour week! I hope it lasts! Oh, and get back on program! Don't make me come up there!

GATOR: I am so sorry about your brother in law. I am sure that is devastating to them. I will keep them in my prayers. Thank you for your encouraging words. Sometimes, knowing who made me, who redeemed me, is about all that keeps me going, but it is enough.

KAYE: Way to go on the two pounds!

TECH: If you want to write, then why aren't you? Go for it! Just remember you will be obligated to send us each a signed copy when you are published. I would love to write too...even had a few ideas I tried to get started on, but I always fizzle out. I am so good at forgetting books...which is nice when you want to re-read one...that I found I had to re-read what I had written all the time to remember where I was and what I was writing! It was taking way too long...

TEENSY: You sound so busy! I love that feeling when you finish a project and look at it, and it looks awesome! Praying Ted gets some relief from his back pain!

Ok, I am off...but only slightly and you all have known that for years, huh?

Where is BOB? COUNTRY? NICOLEE? TONI? THUNDERWOMAN? TALITHA?

I want to know what BOB found out with the glucose meter, how Talitha liked the Bahamas...and if Country's FIL is doing ok...

  • Nope...no writing yet. I get too engrossed in it and totally neglect the kids. It's not something I can do with half my brain tied behind my back...I need total concentration for the story to come to life for me. It's really cool when I can get into it. One night, the kids were visiting with my mom and Derek was out somewhere at work and I sat at the puter and wrote a whole chapter in a couple hours. BUT, I didn't eat dinner or clean or anything...just write, write, write. So, when Kyle's home, I could start writing and then turn around and the living room looks like a bomb went off and he's on his fourth straight hour of TV and that just isn't cool. So, I've put myself on hiatus until he's in kindergarden...or at least until we can all go outside so while I'm being sucked in to the story, he's at least playing in the sandbox or kicking a ball around. BUT, then it's hard because someone always needs me and I get nagged and can't concentrate...in other words...when I'm writing, I can't be bothered by things like lunch and things and my kids deserve to have my attention...so I'll probably just wait till fall when I'm home by myself, missing the kids annoying me, but happy that I can finally concentrate on writing. Meanwhile, I'm reading, reading, reading to get a grip on what prose makes my favorite authors my favorites and what it is about an annoying author's prose that make me annoyed with them...so I can write like the favorites.

Well, for breakfast, I had some Kashi and coffee...for lunch, I'm having (as we speak) 15 bean soup and some strawberries with iced tea and for dinner, if I"m not sick of it by then, I'll probably have more bean soup with a salad. Yesterday I had bean soup for lunch, snack and dinner. Good thing Derek's in Vermont ...if you know what I mean...

Monet: I love my mp3 player...my walks go by like a flash with some good tunes to keep up the steps. And I agree with Gator...you're fabulous and wonderful just the way God made you. And EVERYBODY loves you just the way you are!!

Munch: SO nice to see you around this neck of the woods again. That is so horrible about that man. So completely senseless. Some people are just plain sub-human.

Cindy: YOu are hearby being dragged back on the bandwagon. One meal...one day...one step at a time.

Gator: Hugs and prayers to you, your sister and bil. What crappy news. Do they know what kind of cancer it is? Same as before or a new different problem?

Kaye: WOOHOO on the two pounds!! That's the way to do it...a couple here...and couple there...they all add up!

Colleen: Don't you just love progress? I'd go with a quilt for the spare room. It's cozy and can be either masculine or feminine.

Solly: We have a local horse here, Funny Cide, that is the pride of the North Country, running in the race. He won almost the triple crown a few years ago and I just saw on the news that Funny Cide's back at it again this year!! Just know, that when you see Funny Cide from Sacket's Harbor...that's about 45 mins from my house (as is just about everything up here!!)

Well, I need to get outside and do some picking up of Junior's winter poo and toys so I can do the first mowing of the year. That is...assuming I can get the mower going. I hope I can because Derek's in VT again and this time of year, I can practically hear the grass growing and it'll look terrible if it has to wait till the weekend. Wish me luck!! Lawn mowing is a twice a week job in May/June.
  • Ahhh..back to normal life. It's 8:15 and I've fed the kids, had my morning smoothie and made a killer to do list for today. I'm re-committing to doing mmy water aerobics 2-3 times per week. I've been slacking off and doing more like 1ce a week. And we are going to start taking a short walk every night that we can with the kids. May only be 1/2 a ile but it's something. If you sould see how big this belly is, you'd be proud of me for that 1/2 a mile! We did it last night and it was really nice. Tonght I have a meeting so may not get it in.

THe trip was great, other than the rental car not being ready (we had to pay a taxi and wait all day at the condo for them to drop it). And Travis lost his wallet with most of our cash and both credit cards. We found it yesterday morning as we got on the plane (rolls eyes...). I'm tan and rested. I decided the last day that I HAD to tan the back of my body somehow, so we dug a hole and layed my towel over it for me to lay on. It was so ocmfortable thatI fell asleep. Now my whole back and bumm are fire red. Coming home was the most uncomfortable flight I've ever been on Oh yeah, and the lady who had rescheduled our seats for us put us in first class on the way down, since it was their fault for moving the flight up... That was nice.

I got on the scale this morning and it has me 1 lb down from my last visit. We walked a lot and I tried to eat well. The have so much fried food, it was a pain to find veggies. I ate plenty of salads.

So, I'm off to get my errands done.

Monet- What's thsi about a festival? Sounds like fun

Muncher- that poor family. It's heartbreaking. Are there any leads onfinding the man who did this? They are in our prayers.

TEch- I ate baked potatoes twoce last week. COme stand next to me and you'll look better :S

Cindy- The Women's Ministry sound sfun. Our church doesn't really have a good one.

Gator- Too bad I wasn't there to translate for ya It may have been interesting.

    KayeC- Congrats on the loss!!

Ok. More relpies later. I've got to get some errands done before I go to the Y. ANd I'm done with my cup of tea so no longer have an excuse to sit...
  • I got home and realized that I never psoted my post. So there it is. Water aerobics was great. Got some errands done before hand. Now I'm tyring to figure out what is the most important thing to do between now and 5....

B: Smoothie w/ protein, fiber, 1/2 banana, 6 large frozen strawberries
S- Chocolate chip cookie at the bank. I was so hungry I was shaking I'm so pissed at myself for not having almonds in my bag as I usually do
L: CHicken salad on SGWW with tomato lettuce and provalone. YUMMYY

Dinner should be hanburgers and a salad tonight. I may steam some zuccini. I already have WW buns on hand, so I should be good. I'm trying. Really!
  • Got the lawn mowed With the push mower I AM WOMAN!!

    Hi Talitha!! Glad you're back!!

Tonight for dinner is going to be Italian sausages on WW buns...no potato salad...and probably a lettuce salad...

    Will be back later!!
  • Hi everyone,

Sorry I've been MIA. I have been busy going places with hubby and working for mom. I haven't lost anymore other than inches. Finished putting in the garden yesterday. Hubby planted a 75 foot row of burpless cucumbers...lol. We have 21 tomato plants 4 rows of peas 2 rows of butterbeans. 6 jalapino plants 1 habinero 1 red bell pepper, 2 egg plants and 6 hills of watermelons...thats why I haven't been here for a few days....lol. Oh and a half row of cowhorn okra. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!!!!
  • Tech--Yeah! Keep mowin', gal. Lots of exercise!!

Monet--I walk by myself every morning. Well, almost every morning. When I walk, I am by myself. I then have time to think, meditate, pray, etc. You might even carry a little pad with you to jot notes of things that are too good to forget. Often with a walking partner, they don't walk your pace, and are too slow or too fast. So, really, don't feel bad, but figure God wants you to walk alone. Find a good route, measure it out with your car, and then stick with it.

Today has been busy and I'm tired. Breakfast was SB pancakes which is actually glorified 3 T raw oats, 1/4 cup FF cottage cheese, and 1 egg and 1 egg white. I topped them with about 1/3 Cup fruit conserve and also h ad 2 pieces crisp fried bacon. Lunch: 4 oz. Maverick beef patty, 1/2 grapefruit and 2 Choc. chip cookies
We are going over to some friends for dinner and they eat really healthy, so it should be just fine. They are an older couple (80's) who need some financial advice.

Thanks for the good wishes for my BIL. He needs lots of prayers.

They tore out our shower today, so we are using the shower in the tub in the main bathroom. I miss my shower already. I am going to make some 2 X 2 "arty" tiles--about 8 of them--so that when they tile the new shower room, they can stick in "little pieces of art that I painted" in with the other 2 X 2 tiles. I bought the bisque tiles today and will get my tile man to cut them and then will paint them. I found a place that has satin glaze and so I'll take the painted tiles there for glazing and firing. I also spent $150 at the grocery store today. Ye gads, that's a lot of money. I hate to grocery shop and that's one reason why. We were out of everything!

Well, I need to start getting dressed and cleaned up for going over to our friends. Take care, all my SB buddies.
  • GATOR: You don't need to drive your route in a car! Check out gmap pedometer. (http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/) You can look at a hybrid map of your neighborhood, close enough to see details and map your route! I love it! You can even tell someone was swimming in our pool when the pictures were made!

TALITHA: Good going on getting back to the Y. The festival is our arts festival...its fun. Not great yet, but definitely fun. Its May 20...wanna come?

    THUNDER: Inches are good....

TECH: Yay for mowing! You are awesome!
  • Hello awesome gals.. I am so tired I could just spit. (My mom would flip if she heard me say such a thing...) So quick check in for me. Did real well on eating today. Got in lots of exercise. (teaching) I am off tomorrow and will enjoy every bit of it. I do have to run some errands in the afternoon. I am gonna try and fit in a walk tomorrow and some weights. I am going to go load the dishwasher and then crawl my tushy into bed. Goodnite- I'll see ya in the mornin'! MUNCH
  • Hi Munch,
Congrats on such a good day for you. Have a great day tomorrow.
  • Evening! We are dinner way too late. I still feel stuffed. I know I ate too much, cause it was just so good! I love this meatloaf recipe I am using.

Tom is about ready to climb in bed, and I still need to check bg levels. I am dragging my feet for fear it is high. I wish we had finished up early enough for me to get in at least a short walk after dinner. I might go out and walk around the pool deck for a few minutes.

I got in today and had a message from a girl planning on using our church for her wedding this summer. NO one had told me about it, and it was not even on the calendar! I wanted to scream! I need to get the wedding policy written and move on with it. The kitchen too. Sigh.

I guess I need to get ready for bed, so sweet dreams!

  • I woke up with an upset stomach at 3. While up, I of course checked my bg levels. Not good! This morning, they are about the same. Walking helps, but today will be hard to fit it in, as I teach all day, then have a meeting here tonight and have some cleaning to do to get ready. I am cooking a roast in the crockpot, so at least dinner will be easy.

I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY....and lets all remember to share our WW here.....

I think mine is that I am persistent. Most people would have given up a long time ago, but I just keep on. I long to be a 'success' story, but sometimes that seems like an impossibility. At least I am not too jealous of folks who ARE success stories.

Ok, off to get ready for school!

  • Yay Monet! I'm sure your persistance will pay off for your health!

I may have already mentioned this, but Sean's sinus surgery has been scheduled for June 5. I guess my wonderful Wednesday post will be for all the wonderful medical advances we have available to us now. They will be removing scar tissue and adenoids as well as working on his nasal septum a little. The nurse that is working to get everything approved with our insurance tells us that we are going to have a totally new kid on our hands! I am looking forward to the outcome, but dreading surgery day. He is scheduled to be in OR for three hours and I'm sure they will DDRRAAGG by! I am comfortable with the doctor, but still don't like my child having to go through anything like this. He has retained his sense of humor so far(He says he's going to yell code blue and see how many people he can get to run!) , but I'm sure he will be nervous as it gets closer.

Hope everyone has a great day!
