Hi everyone,

I just wanted to drop by and say hi. We still haven't stopped long enough for me to do an at length post. We are out the door again. I am still on track.

Have a great weekend!!!!! SB legal of course!

Teensybean 02-10-2006 07:25 PM

Hello ladies....

Woo Hoo, I did it, Buddy and I made our 3 miles today. My hips were aching by the time we got home, but we did it!!

Ran into town this morning and got my hair cut. I am going in next month and having the highlights done again. Can't believe how much darker my hair is when the highlights are gone. I like to have it done during the winter months especially, because it is so dark. My hair lightens up a lot in the summer being in the sun.

Eating is still good. I even made it through the pizza. Dh has been eating a couple of pieces for lunch each day. I am still eating on the meat and cheese and veggies that I had cut up for SuperBowl Sunday. I count out my 7 Triscuits and eat lots of the veggies with a ff dip.

Tomorrow I am taking a turkey breast that I am going to roast on the Showtime to my Mom's. This will be the test as I have been having a hard time staying on plan over there the last few Saturdays. I am determined though. I want to buy some new clothes before our trip, and I am hoping that they can be one size smaller.

Monet-- I love the man dearly......but I still know that it wasn't right what he did. I am willing to forgive, because I don't want to throw away 16 years of our life. But as I said, I am still very hurt. Have a great night, it sounds like lots of fun!! Where were the Larabars at? With which foods?? Snack isle, or what?

Cindy-- Hope you have a great day with your Mom. I love my outing with mine. We have such a fun time.

Thin-- I usually feel like that after I have been bad, too!! Hang in there.

Nicolee-- Again, grab a ww wrap from the grocery store and then put your meats and veggies in the wrap.....La Tortilla Factory makes some great WW wraps!!

Solly-- Thank you. You know just how to pull my strings don't you, lol. It is very easy to get along with Vicky, we are the same age, and have alot in common. It is very ironic, but her oldest son was born in May, as was mine. Her youngest son was born in Feb. as was mine, we were both married in June. Our boys are just a couple of year apart in ages too. We are both into exercise and trying to eat right. She did a metobolic something plan, that I had never heard of but she lost 34 pounds and 50 some inches. She said she went from a size 14 to a size 6! She looks great, believe me!! Now she teaches arobics and pilates to inmates at the county jail in Ft Collins along with the regular sports such as volley ball.

Thin, Tech, Thunder, BOB, and Gator......and anyone else I missed.....a big hello to all of you!!

Will try to pop in this weekend, but I usually don't even turn this thing on.....

THE BIG ORANGE BABE 02-10-2006 08:00 PM

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!! THIS IS A FLY BY....

Kate is home. There were no beds available at Health South, so Home Health will start coming which includes, Physical Therapy, Aide (to assist her with her bath etc) and the Nurse will be by to do what ever.
They told us that if we wanted to admit her to any other Rehab facility that we would have to pay out of pocket because Medicare wouldn't cover it since she wasn't an Inpatient while in the hospital.
After the Home Health is over, she will be eligible to go to Health South as an Outpatient. They will come get her and then bring her back home.
The leg is still weak, but she isn't dragging it as much as before. They delivered a potty chair to put by her bed for night time.

I didn't sleep last night, I was doing laundry at 3 a.m. and washing dishes at 4a.m. I went to work at 6 and got off at 2:30. I'm about to climb up in the bed and watch the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics.

Thanks again for all of your good thoughts and prayers. Keep em coming..we're not out of the woods yet.

BOB

Evening all. Had a great time with Mom. Funny thing though... here she was all worried about her eye test for her DL..well we waited 45 min at the place and she went up when they called her. I sat there for about 6 min and here she comes..I thought "wow that was quick" and she laughs and said " my dl has 2 more years on it" LOL She was looking at the end of her DL # which is above the ex date and the end of the number is 2006 so she just assumed that it was expiring. Too funny.
We went to lunch at Arbys then to Walmart. When I got home my sewing machine I ordered was here so I spent the time I had before my hair cut getting it out of the box and set up. OH MY GOSH, the darn thing threads the needle all by itself! Can you tell I havnt seen a newer sewing machine in years?? I tried a few of the embroidery designs. This is going to be so neat. Tomorrow Im going to go out and get what I need for my first quilt project. Im really excited to get started.
My eating was not good at all today. I wasnt planning on dinner since my dh was out of town tonight and I had lunch out with mom. But my ds called and wanted to meet after my hair appt to try a new mexican resturant. UGH. I have got to get back on track.

nicolee- I think the Outback bread has mollasses in it too.

Well, Im getting too many phones calls here this evening to finish replies. See you all tomorrow.

dripping 02-11-2006 01:21 AM

Hi Everyone! Just a quick hello. It will take me a bit to figure out who everyone is but I can already see what a great group this is.

I live on Long Island and we're getting ready for the snow that's expected tomorrow. I went food shopping tonight because I needed to stock up on SB stuff. I've done SB before and thought this was one of the best WOE I've ever done. One big problem with me is the usual eating too much of legal foods. I have a big appetite and can eat masses of food without feeling full.

I plan on staying in this weekend and watching a lot of the Olympics.

Nice to meet you all.

Carole

Ellen 02-11-2006 08:14 AM

DRIPPING: :welcome3: We are glad you joined us! I can relate to the big appetite! I have that problem too. I have to really be careful not to eat too much. Let me know how the Olympics are! I wish I had time to watch some, but my daughter is getting married in three weeks...and I have a ton to do! :(

GatorGal 02-11-2006 09:27 AM

Dripping--Welcome. I can totally identify with what you said. I love to cook, and even when I cook totally legal foods, I can eat too much of them because they taste sooooooo good. I have had to journal and count calories just to keep myself under control in this area. And I hate to count those calories and often don't--and then I'm back to eating too much. :(

Pancho 02-11-2006 12:13 PM

Good Morning everyone:

Wow, where did the last week go? I did not get one day of exercise in last week. Lane and Britt got sick, and this time it was too contagious for my DH and I to avoid; we both ended up sick too. I guess it was the flu (headache, fever, chills, cough, stuffy/runny nose, etc...). My head felt like it was going to explode. When I would blow my nose, my ears would plug up, and would stay that way for hours. I guess since we only get sick about once a year, it has to be a doozy.

I scanned the posts, but there are far too many to respond to, but I wanted to make a few replies:

Talitha: I am assuming the ultrasound revealed a HEALTHY little boy. Congratulations. I know you so had your hopes up for a little girl, but you will be so in love with this little boy when he arrives. Just think, I will never know what it is like to have a son. I only have two daughters. You are able to be a mom to sons & a daughter; that's something special. Good job passing up on that chocolate! Baby boys don't crave that, do they?

BOB: So sorry to hear all the hassle you have had to put up with with your mom; why does money/insurance/politics have to affect so much when it comes to the health of a loved one? I sure hope Kate is feeling better soon. I am glad she will be able to have someone come out to the house to assist her with everyday activities. I sure hope you got some sleep last night.

Monet: I am going to Costco today, so I am glad I read your post. The least expensive price I've found the Lara bars are $1.49 each. Is it a mixed variety box at Costco? I love the Cashew Cookie the best. I wanted to let you know that I just ordered some pea protein powder; you may want to research it, and check into it; it may be a good option for you too. You seem to have a lot of food sensitivities like I do. I have a lactose intolerance, and find that they whey powder even affects me. It is supposed to be one of the most complete proteins out there, and I'd like to have it to add to my smoothies.

Teensy: I am so glad to hear that you and your DH talked about the "issue." I do have to say that "reading between the lines" for the past few years on the boards, I feel a close connection between you and your DH; you seem to have a great deal of respect for him, and seem to love him dearly; I would have hated to see all those years thrown away over this. I know it will still take some time, but I am glad you are seeing his side. Your trip sounds like a blast!!!

To everyone else.....:grouphug:

I hope to get back on track with everything this week (life in general). So, I hope to post more, and I hope to get to the gym 3-4 times this week and post on the exercise board.

Have a great OP weekend.

Take care,
Nat

Good morning ladies....

Thought I would pop in before heading to Mom's for the day. We got up early and started canning salmon this morning. We are just canning the stuff from last year, so only got 10 pints. But it is better than letting it go to waste, and we love to use the canned fish just like tuna, only it is better!!
Well, that was short.....dh is hollering for me so better go.....see you all tonight, if I can remember!!

Ellen 02-11-2006 12:36 PM

Our shopping plans for my outfit for the wedding were cancelled. Bummer... I may try and talk Laura into going with me to a few places. At least now I can tag along when they go to pick out the tuxes. Laura has been checking online and found a few she likes the looks of. It will be interesting to see what the guys think. Justin has a way of manipulating her that is very refreshing, since she can be rather bossy. When I started noticing he was able to do that, I thought, oh, GOOD! :lol3: I hope she never catches on. :s:

Breakfast was a Larabar, three pieces of bacon, a clementine and espresso. Not sure about lunch yet....

dripping 02-11-2006 02:26 PM

Thanks for the welcome. I'm happy already....learned something new from all of you already. I just ordered a sampler of Larabars, all 8 flavors @ $16.50 plus shipping. I didn't feel like jumping in the car and going to Trader Joes so I ordered them on line. A good energy bar and an orange will be a perfect breakfast for me. Even if I'm running late some mornings, that's an easy breakfast to throw into a bag and go.

Where's a good place to ask questions from everyone such as what you all eat for breakfast? Or favorite quick lunches? I'm still finding my way around. Thanks.

Ellen 02-11-2006 02:36 PM

DRIPPING: The weekly support thread is the best place to ask questions...this is where everyone checks regularly. Just hit reply, or use the quick reply box. I start a new weekly thread each week for us. You are sure to get a response if you post it in the support thread! The Larabars are great...but not real high in protein, so keep that in mind. If you have a Costco near you, see if you can find them there, in the nuts, snacks aisle. They are much cheaper there. I got a box of 18 for $17 something.

Ellen 02-11-2006 02:38 PM

Lunch was two wedges of Laughing Cow Garlic and Herb light on four or five RyKrisp crackers, and a hefty bowl of cream of chicken and broccoli soup made with organic chicken broth and canned chicken. It turned out pretty good. :)

We are leaving in a few minutes to go pick out tuxes.

Fillise 02-11-2006 02:40 PM

Good Satruday Morning--er Afternoon!

I actually got up fairrly early for a Satruday, I just didn't realize it was afternoon yet!

I just put my first post in, probably a year or more, on the exercise board. So you can mark it down oficially on the 2nd Saturday of February, 2006, **** has officially frozen over!

I saw a Leslie Sansone wwalking workout DVD on sale at Target a few weeks ago and bought it. I actually tried the easy 1 mile workout this morning. I'm so out of shape that I didn't think it was easy, but it was do-able! It also includes the use of exercise bands for doing some upperbody work and I had a set of those that I bought at Walmart awhile back and never used, so that worked out well. The DVD aslo has a 2 mile higher intensity workout so I'll be able to work up to that.

The exercise inspired me to make a huge salad for lunch. I put a harboiled egg in it, cucumber, carrots, chopped apple and a little but of crumbled blue cheese. YUM!

I'm goint to a "Heart Ball" tonight. It's a fundraiser for the American Heart Association. It's waay too much like a valentine's dance for me, but one of my best friends is the chairman and asked me to help her out tonight. So I get to put on my fancy duds and go out tonight.

Monet--Sorry your shopping trip got cancelled. What kind of dress do you want for the wedding. I guess it's just three weeks out!:yikes:

Gator--Three weeks for you too! :yikes:

Teensy--Home called salmon sound good!

Pancho--I hope ya'll are all feeling better now!

Dripping--Welcome! Good for you for stocking up before the big snow hits! We all struggle with portions. I bought a food scale and was just amazed at how much food I was really eating.

Cindy--That's funny about your DM and her DL! I have to renew mine in August and would like to not have to lie about my weight this time!!!!!

BOB--Glad to hear that Kate is home and you have a plan! Sounds like she is improving. We are supposed to find out this week when my DF has to go in for his bypass surgery.

Oops--Mom is calling, I have to talk her through an internet problem.

Have a good OP day everyone!

Susan
