Just checking in
Hi all,
I was out sick yesterday so I need to get caught up on all of the posts but I don't have time this morning... I did not even bother getting on the scale this morning as it is that TOM so I just avoided it all together. I will check back in later on. Princess |
Good morning everyone. Hope you don't mind a newbie.:D
After reviewing South beach and Sugar Busters I've decided to go the sugar busters route and see how that works for me. So....could you guys take a look at what I ate yesterday and tell me if it looks okay and what should be done differently: Breakfast: Shake made w/1 cup H20, 2 scoops protien powder, 1 egg, 1/3 c lf cottage cheese, dash cocoa, dash splenda (has 52 g protien) Snack: hardboiled egg Lunch: Salad with Ham, Turkey, Tomato, Cucumber, LF cheese with OO & Vinegar dressing Snack: another hardboild egg Dinner: Ham sandwich on 2 slices Whole Wheat toast (WW bread by Natures own with no added sugars), and some triscuits, with about 4 oz 1 % milk Snack: Mozzerella Cheese - about 3 oz. I walked about 15 mins on treadmill, but it was on very very slow speed. I know there's not much as far as veggies go and I need to add some veggies. No fruit b/c yesterday I was still wavering up until after lunch but I've got me an apple for today's snack. I look forward to getting to know you guys.:) |
Colleen: I feel so bad for you. Take some time to lick your wounds and let the dust settle and don't throw the baby out with the bathwater, as they say. I'm sure a little time will help you gain perspective. My husband has the opposite problem with me. In the beginning of our relationship, I told him so much about old boyfriends and experiences I'd had that he finally told me to not tell him any more. When we moved here, he said, "I know you have an old boyfriend or two that lives around here...I don't want to know about it, so don't tell me about it." So, I keep that to myself. But I feel funny because he has mentioned Costello Funeral HOme more than once because he likes Elvis Costello and thinks that the funeral home is funny. Little does he know that the owner, Jimmy Costello, is my old boyfriend. :o I kept it to myself so he can continue to look at the funeral home and laugh, not have a jealous ping.
Talitha: I read this this morning and thought of you for obvious reasons: By Erma Bombeck when she realized she was dying of cancer, the things she'd have done differently: Instead of wishing 9 months of pregnancy away, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me as the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle. [/I] I know it's hard to feel this way after puking three times before even getting to the Y, and I give you soooo much credit for still going to the y after all that. You are a champion, that's for sure!! Its always easy for us to think pregnancy is beautiful AFTER we've had our kids...very difficult to look at it that way during pregnancy. You are doing great and you are such an awesome mom. It'll all be over soon, chickie. Whoops...Kyle needs me!! I'll be back later on!! |
NICOLEE: Your menu looks pretty good to me. Maybe a bit high on the protein, but I would only recommend you add veggies and fruit. If after a bit, you find you are not losing, then you can drop the protein a bit. I am very glad to have you join us. We love newbies! :) So :welcome3: to Sugarbusters!

Tip Tuesday (just getting the hang of this)...
Hello, everyone! Since re-starting SB, I've lost 3 pounds. I was doing Jorge Cruise and gaining weight. I tried the stevia sweetener and I really like it. Thanks for the tip! My tip for today is the fresh berries I took as Super Bowl dessert. Even though they're technically out of season, the raspberries, blackberries and blueberries currently at my grocery store are very good and don't need sweetener. Check it out! Have a great day! |
Quick check-in...... I have a busy morning- still unpacking!!! Man is it hard to get back in the old routine this week! I feel so overwhelmed with everything- just trying to catch up on the kids school, my work, the house, etc. It is super cold here and snowing- I miss Florida- Wahhhhh! (Sorry- had to whine) BOB- I envy you right now!!!
Did ok yesterday with eating- still getting back on track. Trying to keep portions small is hard after vacation.......:dizzy: I will try to do replies later- after my busy night at work, its nice to jump on here and "hang out" with everyone!! Bye for now- MUNCH |
Lafayette: I would add to your tip to include frozen berries. They are great in hot oatmeal and blended up in smoothies...it makes them thicker instead of ice.
Nicolee: Welcome to the board!! We love newbies!! Add fruit! You can have about as much as you want, so add oranges, apples, grapes, GREENish bananas, cantaloupe. I just told Lafayette about frozen berries. I live in northern new york state and the produce around here is the worst. I only buy what I just listed fresh. Everything else rots before I can put it away or I become attacked by fruit flies! But, I always keep frozen blueberries or frozen strawberries in my freezer and add about six whole strawberries or a half cup of blueberries to my smoothies. My smoothies consist of a scoop of protien powder, half a glass of skim (or 1%) milk and the frozen fruit. It's a nice, simple and yummy smoothie. I've been told to watch it with the raw eggs in smoothies as raw eggs can have problems that get cooked out of them when you cook them, so be wary of adding them to your smoothies. Just my opinion. Monet:  Headaches suck. I hope yours goes away and you can find out why you're getting them. Cindy: Just so you know...DH is now on the 'we'll jsut stay where we are for now' side of things. So, Denver is out...for now. I can't wait till next week to see where we're moving. :dizzy: But thanks for the info you sent me regarding Denver and the surrounding areas. If it becomes an option for us again, I'll hit you up for more info ;) Crystle: Have fun with the new 'puter! Gator, Melf, Kaye and Hug:  Talitha: One more thing....I decided you should blame it all on Eve for eating that friggen apple!! That's what I used to do every month when I'd get period cramps. Why couldn't Adam have eaten it instead?? Okay....that's it for now... |
Good morning ladies.
I had PT this morning (only 1 to go) so I am running late. Can I count that as exercise??? Dinner was at Chedders last night. It was ok. I had a dijon mustard chicken with green beans and broccoli casserole, salad. I only ate half and will finish it for lunch. I hat one bite of DD's birthday sundae and 3 onion rings from their appetizier. Didn't do too badly. The scale was down 1 today, so I was happy. Will make it to the gym tonight, tomorrow and Thursday. Melf, glad you have found some motivational things to help out. Rosanne, Yuck, everyone is stillstick? You need some Lysol or something strong. I bet you see a difference eliminating the DC. Bummer on Jake missing out on the wedding. nat, hope Lane is better soon so she doesn't have to miss her trip to the zoo. Hope you get some sleep tonight. Tech, :bravo: on the loss. What an appropriate inspiration for Talitha. Erma Bombeck was such a wise woman. Teensy, I agree with Monet, you are in a very vulnerable place right now so don't make any haste decisions. Get over your grief over Jo and then take some time to think it through. I can "understand"or maybe "relate" would be a better word your DH's situation. My DH is a very private person. Never shares an opinion, never says much at all, not very open/communicative. I'm sure his past stays in his past. Maybe he is embarrassed about the situation with his DD and doesn't know how to tell you that. You welcomed this girl into your lives and that has to mean something to him. It doesn't sound like communication is a strong point with him. I'm glad he talked with you. Just don't make any rush decisions right now. Sending prayers that you can work through your anger and work this out. It will take time. KayeC, Natures Own makes a SF ww bun. I have noticed many more popping up in the stores recently. Read the labels carefully. Monet, My DD got a chocolate fountain for Christmas. She loves that kind of stuff, fondue, etc. Theya re the big rage right now. I have found that kids seem to make a mess with them. You may want to post someone to "guard" it. Melf, I would love to find a ww calzone. Enjoy. Country, Congrats on the lb. You are getting there. Slow wins the race! Enjoy your new computer. Talitha, I'm so sorry you are still getting sick like that. You will be losing wt for sure. Pat yourself on the back for going after all that. Gator, congrats on your big win on Saturday. Thought it was going to be a good game for awhile. Nicolee, Welcome to our group. SB and South Beach are similar after the 2 week induction phase of So Be. Wow, you are getting a lot of protein in. Add some fruits. Ask away, someone will have the answer. Good luck. Lafayette, Congrats on your 3 lb loss. Keep up the good work. Got to run. Have a great OP day. |
Guess I should clarify that in that protein shake, I use the equivalent of 1 egg in eggbeaters. It's my understanding that eggbeaters are pasteurized. (at least I hope they are...I'm going to have to remember to look when I get home).
When I went to the grocery story this weekend I was shopping for So Be so I didn't get any fruits. You can bet that this weekend I'll be getting some frozen fruits to add to my shakes.:D Tonite will be tough. Found out yesterday that we are going to MILs house for my BILs birthday dinner. I have no clue what she's making for dinner. I don't plan on having any cake. I guess before I go I'll grab some ham and cheese and snack on it if necessary. I'm sure she'll have some kind of veggie. |
Menu for Today!
Well I tried to catch up on all of the posts. I don't have any tips or words of wisdom to add today but hopefully next week I can add something that is helpful.
Coleen: My heart just breaks for you, I would feel the same way you do. B: 1/2 grapefruit & 3/4 cut Uncle Sam cereal S: 1/2 grapefruit L: Chicken salad on WW, LF cottage cheese, sweet potato chips S: Banana D: WW pizza and a salad Have to run, Princess |
Morning all!
I think I'm finally recovering and getting back into the swing. I was just useless on Sunday. So useless I didn't eat a thing! I wasn't hungry either--all I wanted to do was sleep. I'd get up and putter a bit between naps, but then I'd be sooo tired that I'd lay down and go right back to sleep. I slept all night Sunday too, so I guess my body just needed the rest.
Yesterday was icky here--cold and rainy, but today is gorgeous! Monet--I woke up with a headache too! Maybe it's the atmospheric pressure, or the cold (dry sinuses) or something. Are ya'll going to put some dark chocolate through that fountain????? MMMMMM! Teensy--I know you feel betrayed, but I, too, think you ought to wait before you make any huge life-altering decisions. 15 years is a long time and we are all human. That's not to say that what he did was right, but you need to give yourself time to get over the shock and then see where you are. Ann Landers used to advise the people that wrote to her to ask themselves one question: Are you better off with him or without him? That's a question that takes an awful lot of thought. I'm glad y'all are talking now, so maybe you can find your way to keep that line of communication open and use that to heal and maybe even grow in your relationship. Prayers for you! Solly--WTG on the B-day dinner! Also on the last day of PT!!!! Country-New computers are fun, but they can be a lot of work too! It takes a while to get everything on it and arranged so you cna find it! Gator--Hey! I thought about you this morning when I saw they were selling an assortment of butterfly bushes on QVC! Tech--Yeah it can be tricky knowing too much about the past. But we are all human so we've all done some things we might not be so proud of and some other people just don't like. At least you and dh have an agreement that somethings are better left private. I think that's healthy. Talitha--It's the big day! I will check back to see what the news is!!!! Let's hope you have a more "settled" day! Hello to all our newcomers!!!! Welcome! Time to get back to work--have a great OP day everyone! Susan |
Colleen, had been scanning the board in a hurry & not really taking the time to read & respond individually but something caught my attention this am so I went back to find your post. So sorry to hear that you are going through such an ordeal with your dh. My prayers are being lifted up for you this am. :grouphug: Please do let the dust settle on this issue before making a decision that may hurt both of you more.
|
Our dinner out last night was great. We ordered thw WW Popeye's Cazone with chicken, spinach & cheese along with a ceasar salad. It was soooo good! I made dh promise to bring me eat out there at least once a week! LOL
|
I am procrastinating big time...my headache is not any better. I may try a cup of espresso to see if that helps. I did not make any this morning. I have to go teach this afternoon too. :( I did bake the cheesecake...crustless and made with agave, so its legal. I will top it with kiwis, strawberries, water packed mandarin oranges, and grapes. I wish I had a good glaze recipe...
Not much else going on here. I actually took a nap since the headache was making me feel so bad. I really ought to clean...sigh. I would make Laura do it, but Justin has the day off and they have a list of stuff to get done as long as your arm. His days off are few and far between, so they need to take advantage of it. |
Good morning ya'll.
Boy is it nippy. For some reason when I get cold I just can't warm up. I can hardly wait for spring to get here. It's hard to believe it's already time to start preparing the garden for next month. We are a little behind getting the mushroom dirt mixed into the soil.
Monet...Praying you are feeling tons better by the time you read this post. ((hugzz)) Colleen...sweet lady you are in my thoughts and prayers. I agree with Gator about taking care of yourself. It's so easy to let stress take over our eating. Welcome Nicolee. I hope you find this way of eating as awesome as I do. Hopefully there will be something legal at the party. Solly...yep, PT counts as exercise. How are you feeling? Has PT helped? Susan...((hugzz)) I have some stationery files that are going to take me a month to click and file...LOL But I'm so excited that I didn't lose everything again. Munch...sometimes when I find myself having trouble getting my portion sizes down I pick foods that I can eat all I want of without having to worry. :) Layfette...I love fresh berries. This year they have had some wonderful strawberries. Blue berries are out of my price range until about May. In May or June there is a little farm down the road and we can pick them fresh. It's so fun for the kiddos. Talitha...waiting....waiting...waiting...LOL Can't wait to find out with the others what you are having. Praying you are having a much better day with your stomach. Sorry I didn't get to everyone. My sweet hubby just came in ready to eat. Love and hugs, Crystle |
