Good luck with the eating out thing... I usually end up eating something I'm not supposed to when we go out. I try to limit is as much as I can, though. Can you microwave some soup?

Laughing Cow now has other flavors, too! They are all good!

Have a great day all!

Cindylcing 02-08-2006 07:29 PM

Just time for a quick hi tonight. Just got home from the gym and I have a million things to take care of before bed. Hope everyone is having a great week.

nicolee- grilled chicken is always a good choice when you go out to eat.

THE BIG ORANGE BABE 02-08-2006 08:09 PM

GOOD EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!!

Want to share this with y'all and see if any of you have the answers!

WHY, WHY, WHY??

Why do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are getting weak?

Why do banks charge a fee on "insufficient funds" when they know there is not enough?

Why does someone believe you when you say there are four billion stars, but check when you say the paint is wet?

Why doesn't glue stick to the bottle?

Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard?

Whose idea was it to put an "S" in the word "lisp"?

If people evolved from apes, why are there still apes?

Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white?

Is there ever a day that mattresses are not on sale?

Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized?

Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance?

Why is it that no plastic bag will open from the end on your first try?

How do those dead bugs get into those enclosed light fixtures?

When we are in the supermarket and someone rams our ankle with a shopping cart then apologizes for doing so, why do we say, "It's all right?" Well, it isn't all right, so why don't we say, "That hurt, you stupid idiot?"

Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over?

In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat?

How come you never hear father-in-law jokes?

And my FAVORITE......

The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four persons is suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends -- if they're okay, then it's you!!!!

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts about my Mom. She had some tests done today, MRI and some scans. No results yet, but hopefully tomorrow. The ORTHO Doc did say that this might be a total sciatic impendgment, which would explain why she can't move it. He said he wants to give her an epidural injection just in case. It won't hurt her if it's not that so what the ****? While I was there after work, the physical therapy person came in to give her a treatment. I left so they could do that. She thinks she's coming home tomorrow..that her thoughts and the Docs haven't said anything about her coming home. We'll see. She certainly can't come home if she can't walk!

Please forgive another day with not replies, but I'm pooped!

BOB

Hi all,

Sorry for the quick post but I have been so busy working for my mom and trying to keep up with my own housework that I have not had time to post in the last few days. I feel like the energizer bunny I have loads of energy. I will not be able to post in the morning but will be on to post tomorrow evening. We are serving lunches at church friday so tomorrow and friday are busy busy busy. Hopefully it will slow down for a little...lol. Everyone have a great nite and morning!!!!!!

Hello ladies....

Tried to get on here last night, but for some reason the board was not responding. Anyone else having problems......seems to be slower than normal tonight also.

Went with dh yesterday to the doctor and they gave him a cortizone shot, they are trying to isolate where his pain is .......his back, or his right hip. He had to have a driver after the shot, so I got to drive the new truck home!! Only the second time I drove it.
We had to take it up to Kellogg today for them to put in a part.....seems they are having a problem with some of the 2006 Dodge pickups......the check engine light comes on sometimes. Ted is very good friends with the service manager up there so they gave us a free oil change for our troubles. The truck only has 1600 miles on it, but what the heck, we were already there.

We were able to talk on the way up there, as it is an 85 mile trip. He told me that the reason he lied to me was that he was ashamed of himself for not doing anything to find her once he was told of her existence. All he was told was that Montana had had a child and that she said that Ted was the father. He said that he didn't want me thinking that he was callous and unfeeling. And that since so much time had passed, he doubted that she wanted anything to do with him. He had no idea where to start to find her or her mother at that time, and then her uncle that had told Ted had passed away......and Montana too, we soon learned. So then once the letter came, he was just trying to cover up for not telling me sooner and trying to judge my reaction to see how I would react. I think that is what hurts the most, the fact that he thought I would do anything other than welcome her with open arms. I have two children and love them more than anything in this world, why wouldn't I except and love his child too?? Anyway.......I am still hurt, but I think I see why he did what he did. It wasn't to hurt me, I think in his own way he way trying to protect me or so he thought.........So now I am more hurt than angry. Why are men so different in their thinking than we are??

The good news is that my eating has been 100% on plan, I haven't even looked at the leftover pizza.......even stopped at the Red Lobster today for lunch. I had Grilled Garlic Shrimp, Caesar Salad and vegetables, with a glass of cabernet. Yeah!! I didn't even snitch a taste of the cheese bread!! This was a major accomplishment for me, I have been having a horrible time lately......but have been OP since Sunday. The only bad thing is that I wasn't able to get in any exercise today. But I have been doing extra each day. I am hoping that Buddy and I make our 3 mile mark tomorrow.....

I am sorry that I don't have any replies tonight, but will get on here in the morning and get to you all........good night.

Princess,
As I was saying the other day I have always thought my reward for having difficult and complicated parents was my husband! He is always on my side. What else can you ask for?

Monet:
The thing about Lost is, it is just plain good storytelling with an emphasis on the characters and their motivations not just on the oddities of the island although they are interesting too. But without caring about the characters these other things might not be so intriguing. I like shows that are a little different. Does anyone remember Strange Luck with D.B. Sweeney on Fox. It didn't last long. I also enjoyed Dark Angel. I thingk having only sons has made me watch shows I might not otherwise have considered.

Colleen:
You have asked a question I have always wondered about. Why do men think so differently than we do?
I have a husband and two teenage boys and the fact is they do think differently. Also big difference is their humor. Sometimes they will be cackling at a show that I don't find funny at all. I'll just shrug and say "male humor" .
But other times my DH will come up with something that just leaves me speechless with wonder at how right, helpful etc it is. This is an example. One time I had guests and had made deviled eggs. They were fresh eggs that didn't peel well and when I was done they looked like a mangled mess though they tasted great and I didn't want to waste them. So I set them out and my niece said "what are those!" I said (a little embarrassed) well they were meant to be deviled eggs. My husband piped right up and said " no those are angel eggs" Made me feel so much better and appreciated!

Happy Thursday!

Good morning everyone!

Not much new here really... eating 100% on plan but still need to work in the exercise thing but I am doing better with that.

I will check back later on and see how everyone is doing.

Have a happy day,
Princess

Good morning. I've been on plan as well except for my Cheerios slip up yesterday morning. No more of those for me. That didn't stay with me long enough anyway.

For dinner last night we wound up @ Arbys. I got a grilled chicken sandwich, told them no mayo and no bun. So basically I ate the world's smallest piece of chicken, 2 slices of tomato, and a huge lettuce leaf. And I paid $4.00 for it. The chicken tasted like play dough. I don't recommend it to anyone. I did splurge and have a medium diet pepsi since I've had water all week long with the exception of a glass of milk here and there. After church, I had 5 triscuits with a slice of mozzarella cheese on each and what was left of my diet pepsi.

Today's menu is:
B: Protien shake, only this time I threw in some frozen raspberries I found in the freezer and boy was it GOOD!
L: Tuna Salad on WW bread, apple, maybe hardboiled egg if still hungry.
D: Something involving chicken, not sure what yet.

Hope you guys have a great OP day!

ThinWithin225 02-09-2006 09:19 AM

Well, this morning I woke up feeling particularly "fat" and bloated, but I stepped on the scale and I'm down another pound.:D Go figure?!? Has this type of thing ever happened to you?

Sean went to the ENT-allergist yesterday, and still had too much of the antihistamine in his blood to do the allergy testing, so we'll go back next week. They also are going to do a sinus CT scan to make sure he does not have a chronic infection or other problem. Maybe, eventually, we'll get this kid to a somewhat "normal" existance!:dizzy:

Solly 02-09-2006 10:00 AM

Happy Thursday Ladies.

Wen to the gym last night, DH stayed for about 45 minutes and wen to the Lodge meeting, but DD and I stayed for about 1 hour 20 minutes. Got good wt lifting accomplished. Got some thing s picked up around the house and was out like a light around 9:30.

Have nothing planned for dinner. So either hamburgers or hot dogs. Maybe soup and a sandwich. I hate when I do that.

Had last PT today. I'm so glad it's over. I was killing my budget and I really don't think it helped all that much. I have enought doctors to deal with, that was just added places to be.

Country, A cucumber at 1:00? I wouldn't worry about that, I would have gone for a bag of chips or something, never anything healthy. My best friend adopted a boy and he looks identical to her husband.

Susan, I have seen the fires on the news. How sad. I hope they catch them too and soon.

KayeC, I've always said if I get to go to Hawaii it would be on a cruise. That way you can go to all the island w/o unpacking and packing and changing hotels. plus you eat on the ship and that cuts out alot of expense. But I would take either one.

Nicole, We try to hit steak places. I get a steak, salad and veggies. You could get chicken. Big grilled chicken salads are good too. You did great at Arby's. Next time get one of their salads.

Monet, I'm sorry they cancelled your knitting classes.

Cindy, I know how you feel, after working all day, going to the gym, fixing dinner, etc, the night is gone.

Bob, can Kate move her leg at all yet? An epidural could help. Hope they get some answers soon. Take care, we are praying for your both.

Thunder, pop in when you can.

Teensy, I'm so glad you are working things out. Men are so different in their thinking. I think God must have gotten off track on that one! Time heals all wounds. Maybe you'll get a fabulous Valentine's gift.

Thin, I have had the same thing happen with the scale. Go figure.

Lafayette, Plan ahead for the restaurant meals. Make up your mind that you will have something legal and let your DH order for you so you can't change your mind.

I will try to post on the exercise board. I keep forgetting.

Have a great day.

Agave is like honey, but is made from the agave plant. It is almost 100% fructose, instead of sucrose like honey is. Fructose does not have the glycemic response of sucrose, making it a good choice for those on low glycemic diets. It is about 1.5 times as sweet as sugar. It tends to brown faster than sugar, but is very useful in baking and sweetening teas, and coffee. I use it on pancakes and waffles some too.

Ellen 02-09-2006 10:19 AM

Just flying by...I have wasted most of the morning. I checked my email and then just frittered around on the computer and setting up my gmail account. I have had a cup of espresso, but no breakfast.

James went to work with Tom at 7 again this morning. Its nice not having to worry about taking him. I have a number of chores I SHOULD be doing, but I feel rather lazy. How I wish I were better organized, and a cleaner person. I am the queen of clutter....

I will be back to do replies later! :grouphug:

Thnaks, Solly! Unfortunately, my boyfriend is frequently the culprit when I go OP... I love him but- back to the idea of men thinking differently- he just doesn't think DQ Blizzards at 10:30pm are the reason I'm overweight.

Thin- been there and I've also woken up feeling fat and bloated and had the scale reinforce how I felt! We'll get there!

Colleen- I had crossed Red Lobster completely off my list of places to go. Thanks for reminding me that they have OP options. I haven't been there in years...

KayeC 02-09-2006 11:10 AM

Hi all,

Solly I appreciate your input about the vacation. I expect we would see a lot more of Hawaii that way.

Does anyone else have an opinion?

Well I'm working today so need to go get ready. I'm off tomorrow than work Saturday. Next week I work Sunday and Friday only. That suits me just fine.

I'm a big salad lover of all kinds. Do you all have any favorites you would like to post?

Thanks, KayeC

CountryMom4Him 02-09-2006 12:30 PM

Good morning ya'll

Howdy. I had the best salad last night. It's the first time I've added fruit in one. It was baby spinach leaves with a clementine. I also added red onion, half and avacado and a tomato. I topped it with baked talapia but I would have liked it even more with a piece of bacon I think. I was really surprised at how good tangerine mixes with spinach. Today my middle son turns 13! They are growing so fast. Next month my oldest and my baby both have birthdays. One will be 9 and the other 21. Time sure does fly.

Bob...praying your mama is feeling tons better today and that leg starts working so she can come home.

Monet...stinky on them stopping your knitting. I know it was a blessing to those who were trying to learn.

Solly..Do you have the making for a taco salad at home? Frozen ground beef isn't hard to defrost and cook at the same time. Hamburger is always my last minute choice when I don't take something out. Well, that's not exactly true. I tend to make them breakfast. They love breakfast for supper.

Thin...awesome being down a pound. Usually if I feel bloated I am. :)

Princess...good morning. WTG on eating well this week.

Nicolee...sounds like you are doing great. Keep up the good work.

Colleen..I'm so glad you two have been able to talk. It's an answer to prayer. ((hugzz))

Hi Thunder. Hope you are having a great day.

Mef...((hugzz))

Lafayette...you need one of those signs with a blizzard in a circle that has the slash through it. Just say not to blizzards... :) When I first got back OP my sweetie offered me homemade brownies. I wanted to choke him..LOL

We are fixing to head out the door. Hope ya'll have a GREAT OP day.

Love and hugs,
Crystle
