Kay: I'm not a big salad eater, but in lieu of tomatoes that are being sold as the same price as gold boulion, I've been substituting them with orange slices in my salad. It's great with blue cheese!!
Lafayette: My husband often sabotages my menu a LOT. It makes it really hard to stick to plan. No solutions, just feeling your pain... Monet:  Solly: I would be out like a light after that work out, too. Back in the day when I used to work out with weights, it really put me out at night early!! Thin: Listen to the scale...only if it's in your favor. If your pants are feeling baggy, but the scale is registering a gain, listen to the pants. Whatever shows positiveness, imho!! ;) Nicolee: Cheerios are illegal, but sheesh..you could have slipped up with much, much worse, imho!! ;) Don't beat yourself up over it!! As for eating out...I always stop at Wendy's for some chili if I have to eat fast food. Princess:  Colleen: I had those problems before they changed their server, but not since. I'm glad you're on a level of understanding your DH. The hurt will go away in time. But that realization you went through with this was like a double blow...first finding out about the daughter, then finding out he knew all along. But I can understand where he would maybe feel like a dead beat dad having not followed up on her as he/she got older and not want to bring that up to the table. It would have been a weird thing to bring up for him, if you think about it...like one night during dinner, "Hey, Colleen...did I ever mention I have a daughter out there somewhere?" I mean, how would one go about bringing it up? Its almost like telling an adopted kid that they are adopted if you hadn't brought it up right from the start. When IS there a good time to bring it up? And then the next thought process is to just leave it alone because there, more than likely, won't be a business need to have to bring it up. So, like most men, he went the way of least resistance and kept it to himself. And then, there she ended up on his doorstep and he was probably blown away that she sought him out after all these years. I feel for both of you...but of course I side with you because us girls have to stick together... Thunder: I feel all energized just reading your post!! :carrot: Enjoy that energy!! Bob:  You always make me laugh!! Cindy:  So, today I'm making heart cut-out cookies for story hour at the library at 3:30. They are cooked and cooling as we speak. I started out with 34 and now I'm down to 29. :o Kyle ate two. So, it's not all ME! We're going to see the new Curious George movie tomorrow after preschool. I'll bring my Advil, but who knows?...I may be pleasantly suprised and like it. So, this week, Derek has been going on the theory that we should keep the house we have and build on it. Then yesterday he said we should really buy the property up the road with a nice view of the river and build on it. I can't take the indecisiveness anymore!! I finally told him the logical goal...to stay right where we are until he finds out about his job and we find out about our lawsuit. Both are big players in where we end up living and what we build or buy. There is no rush to move out of here...no need at all, in fact, except that we really want more space. And I really want a bonus room...and a dishwasher and garbage disposal and first floor laundry and an attached garage and ... and ... but at the end of the day, I'm just fine where I am and can live here for quite some time with no problems. So, for now we're staying put until we find out more about our future. Okay...so..I had something to share with you guys, but after doing my replies, I completely forgot what it was. So, I'll be back on later if I remember. Check out my recipe on the recipe board under Monet's starting thread!! It's so easy and sooooo good!! Give it a try!! Okay...I'm outta here...laundry to fold and books to read with Kyle. Oh...I remembered. Kyle, as most of you know, is my now 5-year-old son. He's in preschool because he's too young for kindergarden. Well, I've been working with him over the years to learn ABC's, counting to 100 and drawing and coloring and writing his letters, especially his name, and reading. I had him tested during parent teacher conferences with the remedial reading teacher, who I know personally anyway, and she told me that he's reading at mid first-grade level. He's reading those ready-to-read books, level 2 with absolute ease, so now I'm having him read the level 3 books, which are a bit more challenging for him, but he loves it! I also work on him with lined paper on his penmanship. About a half hour's worth once a week or so. Just practice. So, anyhow...when we got to preschool this fall, Kyle was the only kid in the class that can write his name. The others didn't have a clue where to start. The way I teach Kyle is by things like counting our footsteps when we go walking, reading him 2-3 stories every night, answering every annoying question he asks me when we're out and about. That type thing. Needless to say, most of the moms are now working with thier kids at home and they are all coming along nicely, but Kyle has perfect penmanship and does a GREAT job and is always very proud of his work. He never, ever says anything bad to other kids that can't, he just shows his teacher his work and puts it on the desk and then goes to play. So...the other day, my friend Marianne, who's daughter is in the class, tells me that the boy that was spitting on Kyle before Christmas and the real estate boy's moms were talking about me in school and saying that I push Kyle too hard and I should lighten up on him. Okay...these two women have husbands that have really great jobs and they have more money than they know what to do with , but the marina lady has a job as a barmaid and complains of how little sleep she gets because she has to work at the bar so late..and the real estate lady just took a job working for 911 as an operator, in addition to her real estate job, and her husband is an architect (sp) and the zoning officer for our town. They have so much money and neither of these women need to work, they should be home taking care of their kids, but they have such a high falootin life style they have to work two jobs to afford things like hot tubs, trips to Belize and tanning beds in their homes!! Seriously. McCade (Real Estate woman's kid) can't hold scissors, has no clue how to write any of the letters in his name and Wyatt (marina boy) is so out of control with his rude behavior...and these horrible women have the nerve to say things about MY mothering skills...in front of my son!! I swear...if I run into either of them on the street, I"m going to let them have it. I was so mad!! So, now that I got that off my chest...I'm flattered that they think I'm too good of a mother for them to keep up with and feel the need to bash me to make themselves feel better about themselves. ;) While I'm on my high horse about Kyle...just wanted you to know that we've been having so much fun exploring the Solar System. He knows how to spell the names of the planets, can draw them...in order...from the sun to pluto...the correct color and size and even puts the rings going from top to bottom on Neptune (or is it Uranus?) and speaking of Uranus...he pronounces it 'urinis'...the polite way, instead of Your Anus like Shelley pronouces it. :lol3: His newest obsession is with the weather. Tornadoes, hurricanes, you name it! So, off to the library we'll be going this afternoon to get some books on it!! While he's still on space, though, last week, he asked the librarian, "Why do you think they call them Quasars?" ...pointing to a quasar in a book he was returning. The librarian says, "I don't even know what a quasar is!" and laughs about it whenever she sees us. I'm so proud of him.... :) Talk to you guys later...I have to go have soemthing to offset the cookies I just ate!! See, Nicolee...you shouldn't feel bad for a few Cheerios!! :o Kris |
 Hi Crystle!!
|
   I just had a major meltdown!!! I had a leftover piece of cake from career day:devil: , THEN one of the first graders brought me a cupcake from her birthday!:( AND I ate it too! :barf: Now, I really feel gross! my stomach hurts! I guess that should teach me a lesson!:nono: So, back to the straight and narrow!;)
|
Thin: think of it as research...now you know how bad sugar is for you...its practically toxic!! Now, go have some spinach to balance it all out...;)

Well I shouldn't be too surprised but I am. Things change at the drop of a hat sometimes even when we're not expecting it to. As I said, I was expecting to return to work tomorrow. I had let my director of nurses know since Jan 30th that I could & would return on the 10th but when I went by the office today while I was in Crowley, I found out that she had not put me on the schedule & had not found another case for the nurse who has taken my place the past 7 months. She said she couldn't use me till next week.
Well when we went to Mom's appt this am he decided that he's going to do the skin graft next week & that she will be kept in the hospital for a few days to observe the site & probably antibiotics, so I will need to be off to stay with her. So I told my DON's that I will not be available next week & that she'll have to wait until after the 21st now. I guess it was no surprise to God & He already had it worked out. Again, His plan is better than ours & He had it all worked out ahead of time for my schedule. Isn't He GREAT. On another note, I am eating 100% OP! horrah |
Good afternoon ladies, probably evening now for most of you.....
Well, Buddy and I only made it 2 miles this afternoon. It was only 22 degrees this morning when I got up, so I did my lower body workout on the TBT. Then when it warmed up we went on our walk. My legs were pretty wore out, so we only did the 2 miles. I am hoping that we can get up and huff it all 3 miles first thing in the morning. Rosauer's had their 13 hour cereal sale today too, I went in and got some Cherrio's, Raisin Brand and Mini Wheats for dh. I don't eat much cold cereal, and when I do, it is Fiber One, but he likes it. Tomorrow is Fresh Friday at Yokes, so I will stop in there after I get my hair cut and stock up on fresh veggies and get my Lite 85 yogurts. We are planning to take a trip in March. We will go to ND and spend a couple of days with dh's sister and her husband. Then we will head down to Co.to see Vicky for 3 or 4 days. This will be the first time that we will meet her husband and boys. Both boys are married now, and the youngest and his wife are expecting a baby in May. ( I am going to be a Great Grandma before I even become a Grandma from my boys!!) After we leave Vicky's we are going to Ut to see my Grandmother, and some other relatives. We will spend a couple of days there and then head to Nv to spend a few days with my Sister and her family. Then head home. I am really excited to go on this trip. We seldom go anywhere, and I really do want to get to know Vicky. We talk a couple of times a week on the phone, but it will be so much better to talk in person. We seem to have a lot of things in common, and she even wants to come up this summer when I'm picking fruit and making jams. She is the first person that has ever asked me to teach her how to do it. B- 1 egg scrambled with 1/2 oz cheese, 1/2 grapefruit, Lite 85 yogurt. L- Venison thuringer, Laughing Cow wedge, 7 Triscuits, carrots, cauliflower and ff ranch dip. snack-- orange D-- Grilled salmon, salad with Lite BC dressing. KayeC-- What a cute story..... your hubby sounds very loving, thanks for sharing, and I am glad that I am not the only one who thinks that men are so different!! Nicolee-- You should have tried a wrap. You can take any sandwich Arby makes and the will put it in a wrap for you. I usually have the turkey and Swiss and I ask for it dry. They are good and very filling. Solly-- Sounds like you got in one heck of a work out, good for you! I know for a fact that I won't be getting anything from him for Valentines Day except a card. We both decided to save our money for our trip we are taking in March. And yesterday at Red Lobster was our dinner!! But that is okay......I will just have more money to spend somewhere else, lol. Monet-- Let me introduce you to my dh.....he is the KING of clutter, and a pack rat to boot!! Layfeyette-- I told dh that I didn't want to go to RL at first for the same reason.....then I decided that it was up to me and me alone to stay on plan. And I did it, and felt very good when we left there!! Country-- We like breakfast for supper a lot too. An omelet is good anytime as far as I am concerned.....thanks for the ((hugs)) Tech-- We were up north a few years ago for an event called "Affair on Main Street" It is an arts and craft fair that they put on right on the main street of town. We had stopped into Heidi's for a drink, and there were others there that dh knew, and apparently he was told then. I feel that he could have waited until we got home and then calmly said that so and so had just informed him that an old girlfriend of his had had a baby in 1957, while he was in the service. I mean that would have been the proper thing to do, right? It wasn't as if she was still a child, she was a woman married for 31 years, with 2 children of her own. Instead he has waited 5 years or so, and then acted like he had NO IDEA when her letter came. This is the part that hurts the worst....that he didn't feel like he could come to me at a time when we should have been pulling together and trying to find out all the information that we could. As for us girls sticking together....I agree, I tell my son that all the time when I side with his girlfriend, lol. Thin-- I have been there and done that.....just climb right back up there on that old wagon...... Mary-- Just take that extra week and finish up on any loose ends.....then you can be there with your Mom and not have to worry about anything else. WTG on being 100% OP!! Well, that's it for me.......Thank you all for your understanding and support, you ladies are the best! And I feel very fortunate to have you as friends!! |
GOOD EVENING EVERYBUDDY!!!
Just got home from the Hospital. They were ready to kick Kate to the CURB because she doesn't meet criteria for INPATIENT and her 48hrs are up at 9:15 p.m. Her ORTHO Doc had written discharge orders and they were waiting to hear from her Medical Doc. He would have no part of her going home because she couldn't be by herself. SO..they had Physical Therapy come and do an eval on her and they said the same thing. Her Medical Doc wants her admitted to Health South for rehab and if Health South won't take her, she will have to go some place else. They did give her an EPIDURAL INJECTION today and it will take about 48 hrs to take effect. She's still dragging her leg but not as much. We'll see what tomorrow brings. THANK GAWD FOR OUT MEDICAL DOC!! I'll keep y'all informed... Once again, I'm begging off of replies. I've got to fix some supper it's getting late. BOB |

We ate the Di Giornos Hearty Wheat pizza for dinner, with a salad. I am feeling rather full...I had three or four small pieces. I had scrambled eggs, cheese and ww bread for a late breakfast, and some popcorn as a snack. That was WAY too much bread for the day. I will do better tomorrow.
I got virtually nothing done today. I feel like a slug. I did catch up on correspondence and do some research on a dress for the wedding for me, and local hotels for some out of town guests. I spent half an hour on the phone with my mother in law, going over all the points about the wedding that she wanted to know. She told me my one sister in law may come by herself, without the family because her daughters have a soccer tournament. How typical! I suppose the soccer tournament is MUCH more important than their cousins (one of only three cousins they have I might add) wedding. The MIL was concerned about what to wear. I told her I would call her and let her know what I get, if I find something on Saturday. I am hoping I can find a fancy pants suit, as I hated the way I looked in my other daughters wedding pictures. My ankles looked horrible! Pants would hide them! :lol3: I heard from MY sister and her two daughters are coming. My sister can't because she teaches college classes on Saturday and can't find any way to get out of it for that day. I think its the end of the quarter.... My other sister and her three college age sons are coming... CINDY: If you go to the Sugarbuster recipes forum area, I started a quarterly thread to add recipes to. Here is the link: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=89 BOB: Keep us posted! I am keeping you in my prayers! TEENSY: I am glad you got to talk. I hope you can work through your hurt and anger and come to forgive him. I don't think it was right, but I can see now why and what he was doing...and it is not as bad as it might have been! MELF: He does have a way of working things out better than we can ever plan...though at times the waiting drives me crazy! LOL TECH: Homeschool! Kyle will benefit from it SO much! He has the right kind of curiousity and if you just continue to feed it in the ways you are doing, he will excel. THIN: Drink lots of water, move on, and don't berate yourself. You are, afterall, human. We all meltdown once in a while. The important part is to get right back on plan.... KAYEC: I would go with the cruise...it sounds lovely. SOLLY: You are doing great on the exercise! Do you have another busy weekend planned? You stay on the go so much! COUNTRY: My mom used to make a salad with lettuce, thin sliced red onions and mandarin oranges. It was wonderful with a red wine vinaigrette. NICOLEE: Thanks for the report on the Arby's chicken...I will definitely avoid it! They make those market fresh sandwiches, and don't they have whole wheat bread? They seemed pretty good to me... I hope I did not miss anyone...but if I did, I apologize. It was not intentional. Good night all! |
Thanks for all your support! I did end up feeling quite lousy all afternoon till dinner. I had a leftover hamburger patty from earlier this week and some low carb pasta and a couple of strawberries. (:( I know, no veggies!) I just did not feel like eating much. I've been very tired the last couple of weeks and need a couple of days of nothing but being lazy!:p
We have a winter break coming up Feb 20-24. Hope some of the flu bugs will die down some that week. The kids at school seem to be dropping like flies!:faint: |
Good Morning! I am sitting here with my :coffee: espresso. I woke up at 5 and just tossed and turned after that. I finally just got up and fixed espresso for Tom and I. James is up and in the shower...woo hoo! Three days in a row!
Tonight, I have a coffee house at church I am in charge of. It should be good. I am taking our fancy espresso machine and burr grinder and Tom is going to be the barrista... There is a band that is playing that is made up of all members of the church. I hope they are a good draw. I hope everyone has a great day today. And to those of you I will miss today, who don't get here on the weekends, have a great weekend! Make it a good one! :grouphug: You are all so wonderful...I am just so thankful to be a part of this group. |
Morning all. Off of work today so I got to sleep in a bit. Felt good. Heading out in a couple hours to go with mom to renew her license then she wants to go by Walmart and then we will have lunch.
Monet- thanks for the link to the recipes. I hope to get back here later today. I have a hair appt at 4 which will take a couple hours so maybe some time inbetween when Im home. Have a wonderful day! |
Happy Friday All!
Well I am very discouraged and I must be doing something wrong... I have not lost anymore weight... basically 9 lbs in 4 weeks and that can not be right.
Not sure what I am doing wrong but I need to look at everything and figure it out. Have to run but will check back later on. Princess |
PRINCESS: What is wrong with nine pounds in four weeks? That is 2.25 pounds per week which is a good rate. You may be the type who loses in spurts... Keep in mind that a slower rate of loss is much better, as you tend to keep it off better if you lose slowly. Please don't feel discouraged. If necessary, keep off the scale, but don't let it get you down. Remember, the pounds took time to gain..so give it time to lose them too.

Hey ladies. Just checking in before I'm off to the Y. I have meetings this afternoon, so I don't know when I will get to catch up on reading posts.
I was feeling sorry formyself and wanted chocolate yesterday, but instead I bought a big box of fresh blueberrys and some strawberries for a treat. I am enjoying the blueberries in my spelt flakes right now :-) So much better than chocolate. So how about Isaiah Lucas? I don't want lucals for a first name because we still want one more baby. If it's a girl It'll be Luci. If not, oh well. I'm not ready to jsut give up on it. |
