Hi Everyone!
I am writing with the hopes of obtaining some advice...I am currently a 28 year old graduate student who has been battling with weight problem since the age of 8. My most successful weight loss (aka fastest and largest amount) was in college about 6 years ago when I did Atkins. But like most I used it as a diet instead of a life change (i was young, sorry) and have since gained about 100 lbs. I have tried several times to return to Atkins with the goal of "changing my life" and eating habits, but it's never stuck for more than a few weeks. The most recent experience was last summer when after six days I became hysterical, was crying constantly and did not want to eat anything at all

.
So now, after getting married this past spring and being on the verge of starting my internship in September have decided that NOW is the time to read up on the various options out there for weight loss (Weight Watchers, LA Weight Loss didn't work either by the way). But more importantly I am trying to find a new way of living with food because I am tired of "dieting"

I always thought Atkins made a lot of sense to me (I think I might by insullin resistant base don what I have read), except the no fruits and too little veggies (although I don't like too many anyway

)
After reading the book, I am hoping that Sugarbusters is the answer, but I have some reservations that I hope you all can address for me
How hard is it to find foods made from whole grains?
How hard is it to get used to the way they taste? ( I will be honest I am a junk food junky who does not like veggies or whole grain foods much now)
How strick are people with not eating after 8pm? I tend to be a late eater b/c of my schedule.
For people who did atkins, Is this easier to stick to long term?
And....Any other info anyone can offer.
I am hoping for A LOT of input. I don't want to keep trying and failing
Thanks so much,
Steph
