GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!

Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY
done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, there are two of them today. I really like the first one, but both are good!!

COLLECT THE REWARD

How many times must you fall and then get back up before reaching the goal? Do it as many times as it takes.

Do you really want to stay down after you've stumbled? Wouldn't you rather get back up and get back on your way? Sure, it hurts when you fall, but staying down and giving up will not ease that hurt one little bit. Getting up and going forward is what will move you past the pain and the disappointment.

If you've been pushed down by difficult obstacles, then you have already paid some of the price of success. So by all means move on ahead to where you can collect the reward.

Persistence can indeed be difficult. Yet failing to persist will put you in an even more intolerably difficult position of defeat and dismay. When you've fallen, get back up quickly and enthusiastically, knowing you've just taken a valuable and important step forward on the road to success.

- Ralph Marston

**************

POSITIVE LIVING

Living positively is more than just repeating a few upbeat slogans. Living positively is done with your actions. It's more than just something you do on the days when everything is going right. The real power of positive living comes on the days when everything seems to be going against you.

There is always something you can do to add positive value to your own life and to the world around you. Even when life does not seem to be cooperating, there is always something positive you can do.

The small but consistent acts of positive value, repeated again and again, are what bring real and lasting treasures to life. These come in the moments when you choose discipline over temptation, when you choose kindness over cruelty or indifference, when you choose faith over despair.

Such positive choices are always available to you, regardless of the circumstances of the moment. Make those positive choices, the big ones and the little ones, every chance you get, and they'll add up to something great.

-- Ralph Marston

Have a wonderful day, and a fabulous week!!!!!

QUICKIE!

I'll have to catch up with posting later this evening. I have to get the kids to school, hopefully get in my run (it's now raining) and then get ready to go back to the school to help with a mailing for Michael's academy and probably won't come back home before the kids get out of school, then Michael has guitar, so, afterwards, I'll try my darndest to get caught up. Until then, thinking about you all and hope you had a great weekend!!

Default Good Morning!

Another week! Wow! Sometimes I wonder why I want to rush through the days so it can be the weekend! I am getting too old to want my life to hurry up and pass me by!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was peachy keen. We did not do much, but it was relaxing for me.

Yesterday, my son in law, the chef, came over and made puff pastry in my kitchen. He made a batch for me using all whole wheat pastry flour. I can't wait to try using it! I am thinking apple strudel made with agave, :apple: or something like that! Yum!
Maybe I will use a part of it to make beef or salmon Wellingtons...

I have no great motivational thing to put on here. Just want to encourage you each to love yourself enough to take care of yourself, and feed yourself with nutritious, healthy foods. They will help you feel your best, both physically and emotionally. You are worth it! I am thankful for each and everyone one of you, and the wonderful friendship and support you all give to one another. Have a great week! :

I can really tell when i cheat with this WOE!! I feel all blahhh the next day!!

Hope everyone is doing well---gotta take my doggie(max) to the vet. He is favoring a leg. He's never been hurt or sick--so, this should be FUN!-HE HATES THE VET!! Of course, what dog likes the vet??

Well, motivational Monday. I guess my input is i really feel good on this plan, even though i don't stick to it all the time. I've lost 9 pounds and am feeling great!!

Thumbs down Good Monday Morning!

Hi Everyone!

I don't have a quote for MM, but I hope my enthusiasm will be contagious. I did a bunch of reading on the net yesterday and it seems that exercise and a low glycemic index WOE is one of the best ways for me to get my PCOS under control.

I just HAVE to eat this way in order to feel good physically and mentally. I know if I eat too much bad stuff that I feel all bloated and crappy and it also makes me sluggish. I don't want to feel that way any more.

So thanks to my few email buddies and all my reading, I have REcommitted myself to making myself healthier. I am worth it. We ALL are. And if I'm not well, I'm no good to my family.

I still think that right now it's better for me to have just a few one on one buddies, seems to keep me more accountable. I know this board is full of support and I am going to try to stop in more often than I have been; I just get kind of overwhelmed with all the activity here

I agree with MONET when she says "I am thankful for each and everyone one of you, and the wonderful friendship and support you all give to one another." I skim the boards to keep up with you all.

So let's all have a GREAT OP day!

Thumbs down Monday morning

Monday. I am having a hard time waking up today. I think I could go back to bed and sleep all day. Not a good sign--this is the way I feel when I'm about to get sick. I've been feeling the allergy season coming on for about a week now.

Miss Belle and I celebrated our first anniversary yesterday! She came to live with me after my yard sale on the 29th last year. I had time to reflect what a good companion she has been to me over the last year. I am very thankful that we found each other. Last night she climbed onto my shoulder and was purring and nuzzling with me in the sweetest way--like she knew!

Looks like it was a good football weekend for everyone but Jack-K! . Auburn was playing until the wee hours of the morning before they could pull out the win! My NC State did well against UMass. Auburn and State have the week off next Saturday--so I'll be looking for other teams to root for!

I've got to try to have a good week this week. My schedule is such that I find myself making compromises all the time--and I can't do that. I made some applesauce this weekend. I just cut up some apples, put a little water in the pot, some agave and some apple pie spice and let it simmer. Boy was it good! My mother spoiled me with homemade apple sauce all my life and now I can't do the stuff in a jar. I hadn't made any in a long time--but with the agave it tastes just like my mom's! Good stuff!

Have a good week everyone!

Happy Monday To All!

Hope everyone is feelign chipper today. I am actually feeling better today. I think the sinus thing is about cleared up. Still coughing from the drainage. But things are looking up.

We got all the carpet pad out of ur basement and hugh fans blowing the carpet dry. Not too much was ruined. DD school books from last year (like she would ever look at them again anyway). My DH year book from his senior year, all mine were ok. He doesn't really care about it anyway. Now just to get it cleaned and the carpet relaid. It's always something. I just hope Lili doesn't come through and bring more rain my way. Dh is leaving Friday for Canada to duck hunt and I really don't like dealing with stuff on my own.

Since I couldn't get on the computer all weekend, I am really behind on posts:
Zanne, I'm going to check out the black bean hummus. Never tried it. Glad you have recommited to this WOE. I think it's the best.

Deb, A sump pump is a pump in a well type hole in the basement, that pumps out the ground water when it is excessive. Our (and several other people in the neighborhood) didn't come on. The float on ours was stuck. Once he jiggled it, it came right on and pumped out all the standing water. Going to look for that pot pie. My family loves them. Really liked the first MM message. I think we can all relate to that.

TV, Sure we missed you. Glad you could drop in. Glad you are back on the wagon and the scale is moving in the right direction. You gotta stay in here or that scale goes crazy. Welcome back!

Fillise, Sounds like a nice reunion with Frog. Can't wait to see the pics. How sweet Miss Belle is. I bet she knew.

Cherylco, Glad you are back. How is your mom doing? Better I hope. Awesome about the 4 lbs. Especially with all your stress. Isn't it great about the sizes. I almost think that is better than the scale going down. It sure is some good motivation. How wonderful you DD is doing SB. She will love her clothes fitting loser and loser and wearing cute things. Congrats to her.

Thunder1, You sound like me. I get bored so easily. I have to have something planned at all times. Hope you found soemthing to occupy your time. (hope it wasn't food).

Heartmom, The pics are simply adorable. Hope Boogie's cold is better.

Yellowrose, What you describe doesn't sound bad to me. Maybe drop down to 1 or 2 carbs a day and see if that helps for awhile.

Gracious, Have anice visit with your family.

Fruit, Hope you are feeling better. I sure hope Lili fades out and doesn't take the same trip. Stay dry and safe.

Bob, Thanks for pulling for the CATS. Yes it was a nail biter. I actually think we could have won that game if we hadn't shot our self in the foot so many times. At least it was close. WW? Not doing SB? Gotta do what works for you. Good luck.

Red1, I think my computer is ok. I turned it on and it came up. Sent it to college with DD. Hers was too slow for some internet connection they needed. Good ole mom, does w/o again. Hope your funk is better. Sending prayers for your DD. My DN just went through the same thing. In fact the alimony and stuff has been going on for 2 years and still isn't settled. He is a no good ...... The girls don't even like going to visit him.

JRed, Glad to hear from you. Sounds like you are going non-stop. Drop in when you can.

Monet, Hi!. Hope you are not getting more rain. Now I'm craving apple strudel. Send me some will ya?? It must be nice to have a chef in the family. What a sweet MM thougt.

Gator, We almost pulled it off. Yes, your special teams did stink! I think we really hurt ourselves. We should have won. Oh well, at least it wasn't a runaway. Sorry to hear about your friend.

Debyj, I agree with you, eat something off plan and the next day you feel yucky. Think it would deter us wouldn't you??? The Titans may stink, but they look good in those uniforms.

Have a good day everyone. Let's have a great week OP and see some positive results.

I'm with you on feeling the brunt of eating wrong.
I ate 2, yes 2, illegal pizzas on separate days), and a really illegal caramel sundae this weekend.
I feel like I want to puke. I've been having heartburn and sour stomach all night. I will have no carbs for a couple days and see if I can do some damage control on my stupidity.

Default Good morning!!!!!!

(((hugzz))) We had a great weekend. So busy I found it hard to find time to walk or do any exercise. But I did get a 35 minute walk in yesterday. So not too bad. Will probably miss a few days this week with it being vacation. But if I get out at least every other day to do something I will be happy.

I agree Jack-K we have to use something besides the scales to determine how good we are doing. I am constantly between 154-156 since April....but yesterday I put on some 30's that use to be skin tight and they fit nicely. And my tightest pair of pants is now a perfect fit. But I'm the first one to admit...when those scales bounce up to 156 I start frettin'. Glad you didn't lose too much when the pump went out. Our house use to flood when I was a teenager. Not a basement...but everytime we had flash floods it got hit. About 10 or 11 times I think. No fun to have your stuff ruined.

Cherlco...you'll do great. Don't let the cheats think they got ya cause they don't. You can get right back on track.

Fillisie...praying you aren't getting sick...just need to have a lazy day. I love lazy days....where you just kinda lay around and do nothing...kinda hard to find with five kids...well four now..my son lives with my sister as he prepares to go out on his own. Man...I am so not ready for that. I wonder if I'll ever be really ready for them to be grown and out on their own.

Monet....yum. What a treat to have a son in law that's a chef. Especially on willing you to make you goodies.

Zanne..thanks for your encouragment and excitement. It is contagious to see someone so motivated and excited about being OP.

I'm sure I've missed half of you wonderful ladies this morning but the kids are STARVING...or so they think.

Have a SUPER day!!!!!!! Stay strong and encouraged.

Love,
Crystle

Hope all of you ladies had a nice week end. It's a beautiful day here in SW LA. Have to work evening shift today, so had a chance to sit down & catch up on the posts & do some replies. Sorry I don't get to do that too often these days.

Debelli, Loved the MM's. That is sooo true, once we stumble & fall, if we just stay where we are, then we're definely defeated. We have to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off & get back into the fight, back on the wagon, back in the game, & definitely back to the right WOE. I do fail over & over, cause I see it on the scale. I know what I'm doing when I do it, but I rationalize & say that I've earned the right to eat off plan, after all, haven't I lost 60 lbs? But then afterwards I realize & admit that even though I did loose the weight, if I continue to cheat, then I'm only hurting myself. I've worked too hard to let that happen too often.

BTW, exactly when is this Orlando get to gether in Jan 2003????

Monet, You are so right about the way we live fast, rushing through life to get where? Our days are going fast enough & we NEED to slow down, enjoy life, family & friends! Your idea for apple strudel made with agave sounds great. Enjoy your WW puff pastries! Such a sweet SIL to do those for you.

debyj, Tailgaiting & wedding cake? Hummm, sounds like an unusal combination. Yes, you have done well to lose 9 lbs. Keep up the good work. I agree, we sure do feel it when we eat off plan & it's not a good feeling.

Zanne Glad to hear of your "REcommittment" to this WOE & staying healthy. All too often, I also "scan" the board to find that the posts are so overwhelming that I can't respond. I try to read the entries & see if anyone has addressed me but don't have the time to sit & respond to much. It's not that I don't want to, just don't have the time mostly. But I do appreciate all the support & friendships here so I certainly don't want to stay away either!

FILLISE, Happy anniverary to you & Miss Belle. It's so nice to have a warm loving companion that does't make too many demands of you, huh? So glad to hear that your Home Party with Frog Friday night went well. Sounds like Frog is REALLY busy! Glad to hear that her venture in this business is going well.

Jack-K Glad to hear that you are feeling better from your sinus problem. I'm afraid mine is not cleared yet, however, I am finally bringing up the nastiest stuff! My voice is almost back to normal, but still croakey. I have a pain in my right cheeck that at first felt like an abcess in my upper gums, but it seems to be coming from my sinus cavity. Can't really explain it other than it hurts, especially when I try to blow my nose. The pain increses in my right cheek & right nostil when I push on the left nostril. How strange is that? Anyway, the coughing is not better either. I coughed till I vomited yesterday. Sure doesn't help with the headache either.

TVthatsME Great to see you posting again. You've been missed! Hope your trip to Orlando goes well with good weather for you. I will be leaving Oct 4th also, but will be heading to Texas, Oklahoma, then Arkansas. Will be a fast moving week, but DH will get a chance to see his brother & sister that he doesn't get to see very often.

cherylco, Wow, you are doing soooooo great And your DD too! That is wonderful. I know you must be so proud of her for making this committment to this WOE also. Hope your mom has a speedy recovery!

Heartmom, Your kids so real cuties!!You mentioned next Friday when you spoke of Boogie...is that when his surgery will be?? Will be praying that all goes well.

YellowRose, Sorry to hear that your weight is creeping back up. Right now, before you go any further, set yourself a limit! Do not allow yourself to get any further behind than you are right now. Face the scale & determine that you will not do anything to cause it to go up. You WANT to go down! Then re-evaluate the way that you have been eating. Debbie always talks about journaling. Even though I don't do this regually, I think it's a great idea cause it will put the truth right there in front of you. Sorry for being so rough on you, but that is my wake up call to myself when I'm out of control. You can do it!

My limit is 140. My lowest weight has been 132, but have only seen that weight for a short time. My goal was 135 which I reached, but I had lowered it to 130 which I thought was a good idea at the time. I'm not saying that I will never reach that, but at this time, I'm not real sure that I should aim for 130 because 133 seems to be my comfortable & obtaiable weight.

Swiss Chard from the garden and baked sweet potato..Yummm. That does sound great. DH usually plants swiss chard & we love it, but I'm not sure if he has any growing yet or not.

fruitloupe, You're so right. We do need to keep an eye opened for LILI. Hoping & praying that it does not become as much of a rain storm as Issy brought to everyone in it's path. Please be careful of the mosquitoes. With all this rain & standing water, they are saying the possiblity of a great epidemic of the West Nile Virus is present.

BOB, You & your cousin are raising the age for your goal eh?? You are just too funny. I do so hope to meet you one day

Red1, So glad to see you posting again! Oh, to be 75 degrees & NO humidity! That is just beyond my imagination. LOL My thoughts & prayers to you & your DD for a positive outcome to the court day Wed. It's hard enough when a parent choses to not see his child, but now to be told by the court that your DGD has to be allowed to visit this parent who has not been a part of her life....well, I think I can understand why you've been down. {{{HUGS & PRAYERS}}}

j red, Sounds like a really hectic schedule you have going there. Hope you don't get over-whelmed with it all & can keep up. No cooking sounds great to me, but I find when I'm in the no cooking mood, I tend to overdo on illegal stuff.

Gatorgal Sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. My prayers for you & his family. I had a patient this week end that is only 49 & is dying of cancer. He has not taken care of himself & waited till it was too late before going to the doc. I first saw him about 2 weeks ago when he came for a biopsy of a mass in his neck. He is really struggling to breathe, can't eat, & is soooo skinny. I had to give him an injection yesterday & was actually afraid to because I knew I would hit the bone. Couldn't even insert a 1" needle fully into the largest hip muscle before striking bone. I could have cried when i saw how much he had deteriorated in the past 2 weeks.

CountryMom4Him, Enjoy your vacation!

Rosemary, fortytude, Sorry to hear that you have also been sick with this crud! Congrats on your 3 lb lose! And yes, I also agree with you... WE ARE WORTH IT! We must accept ourselves for who we are & how we are before we can change for the better.

Well gals, will try to get back before I go to work, but in case I don't, have a great day!

Well here I am. Got kind of discouraged last week after gaining a pound and not having my own computer so fell behind. But here I am again pulling my self up by the boot strings and posting once again. I've stuck to SB and did some walking at the campground here in the evenings. My DH had a job interview in Kansas, about 5 or 6 hours from here today so he has my car. I've got a pot of brown beans and ham cooking for dinner so if he comes home late its easy to heat up. I'll probably walk this evening on my treadmill...

Monet- Can't wait to hear what you make from your puff pastry...

debj- Those tailgate parties sound dangerous, LOL.....

Zanne- Wish you well on your recommittment!!!

Fillise- I've got to try homemade applesauce with the agave. Yours sounds so good...

Jack-K- Well we both weigh the same now.. I seemed to have slowed to a crawl with my weight and its so discourageing....

Cherylco- Well you've got a brand new week to deal with and a new start... Climb on board and lets do it....

CountryMom- You sound like you've got a great attitute!! Keep it going...

fortytude- Hope you're feeling better..

Melf- You sound awfully busy...

Well I'm off for now.. Everyone have a great day...

Thought I'd better take a minute to check in. I don't have much time so please forgive me not being able to respond to anyone specifically right now. I've been really busy with between working and helping Tranquil get everything ready for her London trip tomorrow. I will be taking her, Zach, and Gram to the airport very early in the morning. They have to be there at 4:00am. I should have more time for posting this week after tomorrow, hopefully.

I don't know if Tranquil will get a chance to post before leaving town, but I'm sure she will try. As you can imagine, she is having a busy day at work trying to get things finished for the boss.

I've been eating OP but my weight isn't budging right now. I'm still having ongoing Gyn problems so I believe that is the reason I'm at a stand still. Regardless, I will keep eating like I should.

I too, am so thankful for the friendship and support that is so freely given on this board.

Take care and I will check back soon.

Well things are a little slow at the hospital today & since I have been feeling so bad, my DON just called to ask if I wanted the evening off & I did not hesitate to say yes!! I'll stay home

Toni48, So glad to see you back on the board. Hope all goes well with dh's interview. Your pot of beans sounds like such a good idea that I'm gone put some to cook as soon as I post this. Was wondering what to do about supper.

Serene, I'm so glad you posted about Tranquil's trip. I meant to address both of you in my previous post to see how things were going with Zach & if she would still get to make her trip. I'm soooo glad to hear that all is falling into place for her. Please extend my sincere wishes for a great time & safe trip. Sorry to hear that you're still having problems with your health. Hope all gets better really soon {{{HUGS & PRAYERS}}}
