Oh Missy your new little guy is just beautiful. Congradulations......... I hope you're feeling better after having a C section. I know you're sore.
Now Bob you're getting way to excited.... Calm down gal....
Sef you can do it. You've done it before.
All is fine here but it sure is hot. We can already feel it in our mobile home. But back here in the computer room is nice and cool. Guess I'll just have to stay on the computer all day. LOL. I had peanut butter toast and a glass of OJ for breakfast. And did get my walk in on the treadmill.
Hope you all stay cool. Good luck on weigh in Monday.
Hey everyone. This weekend was a very busy one with me working doubles. I soo didn't want to get up, I'm not used to mornings nor do I like them. I've been doing good diet wise. Only thing I really had that wasn't up to diet was a can of chicken noodle soup and crackers, but I don't think it was that bad of a decision.
I just wasn't feeling up to par. Other wise I've been right on.
I've noticed I've been feeling kinda of sluggish the last few days, it might just be due to the doubles and lack of sleep. I don't know, but I really hope it's not the diet. Maybe I just need to carry veggie and fruit snacks with me to work so I'll be able to eat here and there so I won't get this way? I have no clue, any suggestions as to why I may be feeling this way other than the over work?
The wedding was fun. But it was son dang hot in the place, everyone was sweating like pigs. I don't know if the a/c couldn't keep up due to it being so hot out or what. I felt sorry for the bride and those guys in tux.
Yesterday we went to Lexington for my great newphews 4th birthday. It was double duty since my niece just had a baby girl a week ago. We were all fighting over holding her. She was an angel.
Back to the grind today. Public schools started back today. Traffic wasn't as bad as I thought.
Thin, glad you like the new school. Busy is good. It helps me not eat. Lice! Yuk!
Monet, what a cute cake and baby boy. Looks like he really enjoyed grandma's cake.
Bob, yes 3 more weeks. We are not opening against U of L this year. I am glad, but the Lou fans don't like it. I ope we have some tricks up our sleeves, I think we have only won once. We have been watcing the NFL preseason games too. You can still get that famous cheeseburger at Kaelins too!
Aleka, hope you had a great weeken and a great week.
Missy, as I said, Blake is adorable. You are truly blessed and prayers are answered. I see Terry wasted no time in getting him the LSU fan wear.
Susan, we are missing your posts.
Toni, how did your weekend go. I am impressed that you are back on the Good job.
Broken, I'm sure the double shift and sleep pattern mix up has you dragging. This WOE should make you feel better. What do you do again?
Welle veryone is rolling in and wanting to talk. Better get off here. Have a great day. Be back later.
Good morning, and happy Monday to everyone! I slept very well last night. Tom gave me a Melatonin pill to take last night to see if it helped, and I think it did. I sold another piece on Etsy last night, so I need to pack it up today and ship it. I was pretty excited because I had JUST listed it! It sold in less than two hours. I have a bunch of pieces to trim and decorate today, so I will be busy.
We had Persian food at a dinner after church last night and I brought home leftovers. It is very SB friendly, and delicious! I want to go to the store today and get some whole wheat pitas to eat with it.
BROKEN: Lack of sleep and working doubles would have ME dragging. I seriously doubt the diet would. Usually, you feel more energetic on it. You may still be detoxing a bit though, so just hang in there. It may have been the noodles in the soup and the crackers that contributed to your fatique. White flour in any way shape or form gets to me. It makes me feel bad.
TONI: Good for you getting on the treadmill! I need to get mine situated in a good place so I can use it. The thought of walking outside in the heat does not appeal to me. That is why I use the pool so much. I just need to go back to the gym!
BOB: You are scaring me! Football season just won't be the same without Gator making snipes at every other SEC team...
FRUIT: He is beautiful! Congrats! Now be careful and let yourself heal properly!
FILLISE: How are you doing? Interested in a get together any time soon? Unfortunately Harry's is gone and along with it, the Wheat Montana grinder machine. The new Whole Foods that replaced Harry's doesn't have it. Bummer.
Had a crazy weekend. Running around too much, ate out way too much but tried to make good choices at the restaurants. I did exercise on Sat & Sun.
Broken, if you just recently started doing a low carb diet you could be feeling the detox effect that may be causing the sluggishness. It should get better after about 10 days. As ironic as it may seem, excercise helps that. If you can push yourself to do a little bit of aerobic exercise the extra oxygen will clear away the sluggishness. Also eating smaller meals but more often helps to keep your energy levels up.
Howdy everyone. I'm really disappointed with my weigh in this week I stayed the same. But maybe its because I did so well the past couple of weeks my body is adjusting. I'm hoping to up my time on the treadmill today. I'm breaking it up into two parts, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Hope it helps. I made me a three egg omelet for breakfast/lunch. 2 egg whites and 1 egg. It was so good and satisfying. I bought some chicken breast for dinner tonight to have with a nice salad. Yesterday was a salad with salmon. Its suppose to be 104 here today. Eeekkk. Everyone stay cool.
Rosemary- Sounds like you're doing good. Keep it up.
Monet- I had to have my DH dig my treadmill out to. And its tucked into a corner but I can get to it now.
Solly- I think I did well over the week end. I'm not drinking any wine, I'm hopeing that will help too.
broken wing- Hope you rest up. It would be good to pack some veggies and fruit to munch on.
Hello,
I am new to this group..... I found this site today. Wow, what a neat site... I am excited to start this sugar buster way of living. I have way too much weight to loose.
Looking forward to getting to know all of you.
Jen
Hi Jen welcome to the group. Sugar Busters is great. Its kind of slow right now on the board but jump right in here. Ask questions, tell us about you. You'll really like the great ladies on the board. Again I say welcome
Actually the soup made me feel better, not worse. I felt alot better today after getting some good sleep. Today was a good day. I decided today to start counting how much water I am drinking and so far I've drank 123 oz and thats from about 2:30-11:40. I think I am doing pretty good with everything. I need to go grocery shopping though. I'm almost out of everything..
Anything you girls think I should pick up?
Oh and do you think the 123oz is enough? What is your opinion?
It is a lot cooler here today. I walked this morning and if felt pretty good. My mind was working overtime and I walked right through a sprinkler system. Last week it would have felt good, but today it actually made me cold.
The stupid scale was up 11 pounds yesterday, 10 of them are gone today. Let me just stay, I spent a lot of time in the bathroom yesterday
I have a dr appt tomorrow night with an internist. Hopefully we can start figuring out what is going on with me.
Monet, You have cut your hair! I love it. What is Etsy? Something like Ebay? Congrats on selling your pottery. How cool.
Rosemary, making choices is what it's all about. Good ones are better. Good job.
Toni, We are never happy with the scale are we? I am sure your body is just adjusting. You are probably still losing inches. Great job on the Breaking it up is a good idea. Be careful in this heat with your heart condition.
Jen, Welcome to our group. This is a great group of women. Some of us have been around awhile and developed some great friendships. Ask any questions, someone will have a answer. Post often, that seems to help. Looking forward to getting to know you.
Broken, glad you are feeling better. Sleep is a wonder drug. That is 15 glasses of water. That is pretty good I think. Monet has a formula for how much you should drink compared to your wt I believe.
Off to get this day started. My head is all clogged up. My throat is better, guess it is moving upward.
Morning! I spent an hour cleaning out the drawer in my bedside table. I found a coupon on the bottom of it that expired in 1989. I guess it was past due, huh?
BROKEN: I have read that 1/2 oz per pound of body weight is what you should drink in a day. I don't know how scientific that is, but it makes sense to me. I rarely get enough in, so it is something I need to work on too. Some essentials I like to keep on hand are triscuits, splenda sweetened yogurts, and some nuts. Remember to read labels! If an item has more than 3 grams of sugar per serving, you want to avoid it.
SOLLY: I hope the internist can figure out why you retain so much water. I would stay off the scale entirely if I was fluctuating as much as you do!
TONI: You are inspiring me to push for getting my treadmill where I can use it. I am glad too that school starts on Monday and my neighbor and I will go back to the gym three days a week for water aerobics. I use my pool, but I think the class works me more.
JEN: We are glad to have you join us! Jump right in! Some of us have been on Sugarbusters for a long time! We have a number of members who kind of go in and out, and summer is often slow. Stick around and let us get to know you! We newbies!
Off to get something done around here! Oh, and breakfast! How could I forget breakfast???
Howdy ladies....I'm feeling icky today for some reason. But eating has been well and I got my walk on the treadmill. Still have to do my evening walk soon. Tonight is a salad with chicken on it. I've not got much done in the house. Maybe I'm just lazy.
Monet- Love your picture. Its nice to put a face to the name.
Solly-My gosh you were holding allot of water. Wonder why that is. Don't get discouraged.
Broken wing- Wow good job on the water. Usually the more I drink the better I lose.
Can I rant about shoes?!!!! OK dh and I invested in some good walk/running shoes this weekend. I paid $60 for a pair on sale actually. Last night was the 1st night I tried them at the track. My feet started slipping and rubbing. I had to stop after 3 laps and I was POed. Maybe thicker socks will help. How can you possibly know if the shoe will work when all you do is walk a few steps in the store when you try them on. GO figure my $20 cheapies from walmart (that I have now worn out)fit like a glove from day one! I just thought since we have become "serious" exercisers that we should invest in a better shoe. OK end of rant.
On to another rant. DH bought some pasta that said on the box that it was whole grain made especially for low glycemic diets intended to not spike blood sugars. Ate it for dinner, tested before dinner and then tested 2 hrs post and post exercise and my blood sugars were up by 60 points. So how do you know what to believe. <sigh>.
ROSEMARY: I hear ya! I think the GI of stuff, and whether it spikes blood sugar is a personal thing! Wheat always does a number on me, but corn, a big no no on SB doesn't bother me at all! I guess you just have to test, test, test to find what effects YOU, and don't trust the advertising hype. As for shoes, you don't want my opinion! I wear Vibram Five Fingers. ALL the time.
