Morning! Still in Chicago. My sisters both had to work today. I may have lunch with a few of the nephews. Other than that, I am on my own. Dangerous, I know!

I have not been able to be really good about what I am eating. I hope I have not gained while here. I will not know until Wednesday morning.

They are putting in new water mains and sewers on my sister's street. The workmen started up the huge steam shovel and jack hammer this morning at 6:30AM! At least that was 7:30 to me...

Talk to you all later!

Well I think I've hit a blue funk. I've been noticing that I am rather short tempered these days with everyone. Before if I was upset I would turn to food. Now I'm trying not to do that, so instead everything spews forth from me directly at those I am upset with. Lots of frustration at work and at home.

So last week I was flying high when someone asked me if I was losing weight. Yesterday I saw myself on TV and I was hoping to be able to notice and all I saw was how disgustingly FAT I really am. By last night I was tired and frustrated and gave in to old habits, I had an ice cream sundae to soothe my ego, which only made me feel even worse. It's a vicious cycle people. <sigh>

Good Monday afternoon everyone,

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. It's very hot here today and the a/c sure does feel good.

Rosemary, hope things are looking brighter for you. Don't beat yourself up over the ice cream sundae, just dust yourself off and start fresh. Today is a new day. Yes, it really is a vicious cycle.

Monet, glad you're having a good time in Chicago. It sounds like a lot of noise so early in the morning.

Solly, it's good that my friend and walking partner is dieting along with me. So, we do keep each other in line.

BOB, hair sure does grow so fast down here. My hair is shoulder length and I go every 5 weeks for a trim, so it's not too..too bad. Also, she doesn't blow dry it so that saves me a little.

Woopie I lost 3 lbs. this week. I'm so happy. This is an everyday fight but so far so good. I'm finally back to my ticker weight. Maybe next week I can finally move it downward. Just had a breakfast of oatmeal, blueberries and walnuts. Think it will be salmon tonight but not sure. Hope everyone keeps cool. We're under a heat warning. I'm staying in today.

Question

Hi Everyone!

I am brand new with Sugar busters! And am eager to see how well I do with it. I found this site shortly after reading the Sugar Busters! diet review on one of those diet review sites... www.dietsinreview.com.

My point in writing is to get tips or hints other than what has already been posted in the forum. I love carbs but have learned to cut way back! Any hints or motivational tidbits you can pass along would be absolutely lovely!

Good morning ladies,

I'm just glad yesterday is over and I can do regular work today. As always, it is the last minute for everything here. The poor kid who had to take the proposal had 20 minutes to make a 40 minute drive. He made it right on time. That's all I did the entire day.

Supposed to be 100 today. i got up and walked this morning (and yesterday). Now I am dragging. My throat is still killing me.

Monet, sounds like you are having a great time in Chicago. I loved it when we were there. Can't wait to go back.

Bob, I bet you were busy if you were by yourself with 3 docs. I'm sure they all thought they came first too.

Toni, Woo Hoo! 3 more lbs. You are doing so great. Keep up the good work.

Rosemary. Yes it is a viscious circle. But one we must try to break if we are to suceed. Don't beat yourself up about the Sunday. We need to really stop and think before we make choices and I believe we would make better ones. I hate that when you think you are looking not too bad and then you see another view and you think, am I nuts? we are very hard on ourselves. Hang in there.

On a mission. Welcome to our group. We would love to have you join us. This is a great group for support and friendship. Some of have been here for over 5 years. Some have lost lots of wt, some of us struggle along. Ask any questions you may have. Someone will help you.

Ali, How far are you walking and how often?

Better get started. Don't want to, but better. Have a great one. :hugs:

My mantra for this week is one word: Patience. That just about sums up what I need right now in all aspects of my life. DH was too busy yesterday to cook dinner so we ate out. That plus Sundays little pity party of mine has moved the scale back up 2 lbs <sigh>. But we did go walk/jog for an hour last night after eating out, so I know we did something positive, my leg muscles are reminding me of that fact right this minute...OUCH.

Welcome on a mission: I love your sig. It is a mission. Each day is a new day is what I try to tell myself. Set small goals and reward yourself when you reach them.

Good morning everybody,

I did pretty well eating wise yesterday. I plan on doing the same today.

On a mission, I am fairly new on the SB thread and also to the SB WOL. The ladies here are so helpful and a great bunch to know. I think you'll like it here. The Diet Review is an interesting website. I didn't realize how many diets are out there, it's mind boggling. Some I've never heard of.

Toni, congratulations on your 3 lb. loss. That's wonderful! Keep up the good work.

Solly, sorry about your sore throat. I hope you feel better soon. We walk 3 miles 5 days a week. Before summer arrived, we were walking 3 1/2 miles, but with the heat and humidity we scaled it back. When Oct. arrives it isn't so bad and we'll go back to our 3 1/2 miles and then go farther when the 3 1/2 miles gets easy.

BOB, it sounds like you really did have a busy day yesterday with only yourself and 3 doctors. Hope you got a lot of rest last night and that today will be less hectic for you.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Missy- I'll be thinking about you. Bet you've had that little one by now.

Solly- Hope your throat gets better soon.

aleka- Thats a good long walk for you. I agree Oct. will be cooler. I'm using the treadmill right now.

Rosemary- Good girl on walking. Keep the good work up.

Bob- Hope you have help tomorrow.

Well night night all.

Hey Everyone,

I was planning on starting this diet after I bought my new computer and had the money to spend on stuff, but the mother and I went shopping last night and I bought a few things to start on.

So tell me if this sounds okay to ya'll.

I don't do breakfast because I work second shift or atleast 4pm-11pm. So I don't wake up till around 3pm.

Today at around 6-6:30pm I had a 97% fatfree turkey sandwhich with whole grain wheat bread and fat free mayo. I have to have something on there so it isn't so dry and with that I had honey dew and was supprised I was actually full. I had a good light full feeling instead of the omg I just want to go lay down now full.

When I was getting off work at 11pm I decided to buy a burger patty, I put swiss cheese on it which I'm not sure about but I wanted it *sigh* It had onions and pickles on it and a little mayo not fat-free because I don't have any at the house and I used whole wheat bread.

Well along comes 12:30pm and I still felt alittle hungry so I made a serving of oatmeal which my box says is half a cup and put vanilla soy milk and half a packet of sweetner. I only ate half of what I made because I felt full by then.

I heard oatmeal kinda sticks with you so I went for that plus, my little sweet tooth was wanting something so I thought vanilla and the sweetner would cure that and it did..

I haven't done any exercise, but at work I am constantly walking and cleaning. I have to move booths to sweep and I have to mop at the end of the night. I am planning on buying Turbo Jam in the next few days to get the exercise on the ball.

So what do you all think? Did I do alright today? I mean I know you're not supposed to eat past a certain time, but that is hard to do when you have my schedule and the day dosen't even start till like 3pm.

Also I have been drinking nothing but water for the past week, well except for when I kept having this crazy head ache and meds wouldn't make it go away. So I talked to someone and they said it was caffiene with drawls and I should ween myself off. So I did drink some coke one day and my headache stopped. But from then on it's been water water water. So until a headache pops back up that I can't seem to get rid of no matter what I'll be drinking water.

Good morning ladies

Supposed to be 102 here today. It's hot. I got up and walked at 5:30 and it was 80 already. Made it to the gym last night, 20 minutes of cardio and 35 mintues of lower body wts. I'm frutrated with the scale though, it was up 3 since Monday. I can't figure it out. Eating has been right on target. I did have 2 strawberry dacquiri's last night, but that should make me gain 2 lbs. ???

Broken wings, welcome to our group. Your menu looked good but could use some fruits and veggies. Go for 2-3 fruits a day and add veggies where you can. They will fill you up. The headached could also be from sugar withdrawl. You usually get them when you start this WOE. Looking forward to getting to know you.

Missy, You have probably had that beautiful baby boy by now, but good luck. Hope it is easy and quick.

Toni, good luck on your appt today. I know the feeling going back for those checkups. They can be very un-nerving. Let us know.

Ali, That's great walking. We normally do 3 miles, but you are right, it is way too hot for that. I walk 2 in the morning (30 minutes).

Rosemary, When you figure out how to get that patience, let me know. I am so impatient in all aspects of my life. Eating out is ok, just got to make smart choices. I guess when you think about it, it all boils downs to smart choices in life.

Better get started on my day. My throat still hurts and is very red. I go to my back doc on Friday for an epidural so maybe he can look at it and give me somehting, if not, I have to wiat until next Wed, when I have an appt with my family doc. Still using salt water and tylenol.

Have a great day.

Default Iiiii'mmmmmm Bbbbaaaaccckkkkkk!!!!!!!

Hey everyone! I am back! I got in last night. It was a rather strange night with the family having a batch of Rumgaritas and yucking it up, and me being out of the loop because I can't drink with my meds. James left this morning for New York, missed his flight and had to book a later one, and I have a couple tons of stuff to pick in the garden!

MISSY: I am thinking of you...can't wait to get a report!

BROKEN: I agree with what Solly said....you need more vegetables and fruit. Veggies are pretty much free - but keep in mind NO white potatoes or corn. They are first off a starch, and are too high on the glycemic index for this plan. Other than adding those, what you are doing sounds pretty good! It is nice to 'meet' you, and I hope you stick around! The group is a bit slow, but usually picks up some in the fall after school starts.

I will try and get back here later for more replies! I just have SO much to do!

Today has been good so far. At work I had a salad with chicken and cucumbers and balsamic vinigerette. That was about 6pm then after I got home at about 11:30 I had fresh out of the garden butter beans that was only season with herbs and a olive oil/canola oil mix and grilled chicken cooked off the george forman.

I bought some fruit tonight. Some bananas that have just turned yellow they're still a little green, plums (I forgot if they were an ok fruit or not) and apples along with natural peanut butter.

I figure if I get hungry later I'll have an apple and maybe a little peanut butter or maybe some more butterbeans.. they're delicious!. I'm pretty full right now, but you never know what will happen between now and the time I go to bed.

Sorry if I am boring ya'll with what I've eaten. It's just that I am new and trying to make sure everything I am doing is right. After I pick up on everything I'll be fine.

Ohh I forgot to mention I had a small cheat today. I had a very small waffle fry just to make sure they were okay for the customer. We weren't sure if they had been in the warmer for to long. My manager sometimes takes baked potatoes and frys them and I had never tried it so I took one small bite annndd tonight there was this apple cobbler staring me in the face and they had already washed the scoops for the cobblers so I had to scoop it with a plastic spoon and it just had the syrup on it and I liked it off.. But if I just eat a bite is that bad? I think I did good. Also potatoes are my thing. haha I think I did well with that too!

If I can just continue on like this I know I'll do good, it's only been two todays though. Usually by now I have already jumped off the wagon while it's still moving Well wish me luck! Thanks for the advice on the fruit by the way!!
