Evening All

Just waiting for Eli to get home from work and do the dinner thing. Have been busy most of the day and just had time to sit down now to read the posts.

I thought I wouldn't get in my walk/jog today, but I was up and out before 6am and back by 6:30am to take Michael to school. Did 3.5 miles, better than the 0 I thought I'd get in. Ran back home after dropping him off to shower and then run back to the school to volunteer to help with a breakfast for the Seniors from last year that came in today to p/u their IB Diploma-it turned out nice and we had just enough food/drink for everyone.

Ran around afterwards and just winding down now.

Was happy to see the scale back to 118.5 this morning I know it's going to go up, TOM is due at any moment so a gain is inevitable, unfortunately.

By now, you've all received my e-mail regarding the agave syrup. If you are NOT on my e-mail list but visit our board, here's a brief overview of what I am talking about-this is what I plan on posting over on the Sweetalk Board, basically, what went out in the e-mail, just a bit shortened version:

I have some very disturbing news to share with all of you who use AGAVE SYRUP.

Please know that the information I am about to give is in my opinion, accurate, but I cannot tell you 100% proof positive. I don't believe and have no reason to doubt this information as being anything but accurate. This woman has a 10 year reputation to uphold in the Health Food Industry and I do not think she would risk not only her reputation, but a lawsuit for giving false information to the public. So here you go...

These are bits of many e-mails that I have gotten from her in the past couple days:

Our parent company and owner, in Mexico, has decided to cease all world wide production of organic agave syrup. It seems the growers in MX are charging him more and more...and now, the price has doubled and tripled too many times. He cannot charge the higher costs because the market will not buy it and he cannot afford to operate at a loss, for the several years it would take to grow his own.

They closed down the office in Europe last week, and now, us here for this week.

Our plant is shut down. No syrup production, none at all this month was produced. There is no inventory of syrup in Mexico as I have purchase orders which cannot be filled. After all of our distributors run out of agave syrup, it will be like any of your old favorite products that are no longer around. We are the world's only mass producer.

INVENTORY: Sweet Cactus Farms has 20 drums left of blue agave syrup. The syrup she has dates back to at least August 1999 as that is when they stopped production. We always said the shelf life is 2 years but I believe if kept under cool conditions, under 95 degrees and out of direct light, it may last quite a while.

If I were you, I run to the nearest stores and pick up as much of the Sweet Cactus as you could afford to buy!

You can tell everyone our own website is finally up and running--they put it up on Monday--great timing since that is the day they told us we were shutting down!

Anyone can buy any bottles (8 oz. or 12 oz.) as well as the sticks and portion packets on the site, with a credit card.

http://www.naturelusa.com/

Syrup operations are closed, office/warehouse is still open. There are hundreds of cases of bottles in warehouse. They need to get rid of inventory so sales are welcome. The website guy is in the office and only if they run out of product, would they pull website down. Website will be up probably until product is gone anyway.
*****************

Well everyone, this is what I have and what I am passing along to all of you. You can take the information as you wish. I wish, hope and pray this was all just a cruel joke, but like I said, I have no reason to doubt what I was told. Like I said, she has a reputation to uphold, and I highly doubt she would put this information out if it weren't true.

I hope all of you who use the agave can find it easily and get a decent stock to keep on hand. I myself have already ordered 2 cases to add to what I have in my home currently, which should last me at least a year, as I use it, but not on a daily basis. It doesn't seem like finding it will be a problem considering that I buy Sweet Cactus Farms brand and from what she said, they have stock on hand, even though it is over 2 years old.

Hopefully, we'll find something else to substitute when the supplies run out.
*******************

Well, that's the news for everyone to read. Not happy at all, but what can we do. Just pray the supply that's out there lasts for a while!!

SATURDAY MORNING Don't remember why I didn't get the above finished and posted last night-so here I am, Saturday morning vowing to finish and get this posted. Not but 4-5 garage sales out there, not worth going really, they are far apart and probably don't have much anyhow. I have a LOT of work to do in the house and probably should just stay home and concentrate on getting it done. Xmas day is not going to be at my house, keeping it at the Grandparents, but cousins may come to spend the night on Tuesday, so need to tidy up the place. I am having everyone here on New Years Day though, 11am, so I definitely have to get ready for that, will probably have 35-40 people at the house

TOM blew in last night and the scale is up, as I knew it would be. Didn't help that I ate a slew of food yesterday, including some wonderful lentils Eli made. Gas attack is going to be bad today Maybe it's good for society that I stay indoors today! LOL!!! He said he only used lentils, garlic, onions, salt and pepper. I put some plain yogurt on it, to die for!!!

MUSIC, I think we all can relate when the kids are out of school for any extended period of time-more than 1 day is extended for me! I'm not sure if it gets harder or easier as they get older-keeping them from getting bored. Sometimes I wish we could just get away for the 2 weeks they are off, but everyone comes to Fl from our family, so here we stay. At least I have a week for Spring Break to take them up to NC How did your physical go????

LAMAP, glad to see your post. I have to agree with you, it sort of puts a damper when the time comes that it's expected that a present will be received and if it's not, or not what you want, people tend to get an "attitude." My daughter came home with a gift that a little girl gave her from the Dollar Store-she was upset that she had given her something nice from Bath and Body Works-I had to remind her that it's the thought that counts and that she received a very nice gift from another one of her friends and what Lauren had given her was no where in comparison, still a nice gift, but no comparison and there should NOT be any comparison due to it being the thought that counts. Don't worry about the scale. The same thing happened to me, went up and down and up and down the same pounds. I stayed focused and OP and finally had a 6lb drop-it will come, you know your hard work will pay off Enjoy your vacation!

MELF, enjoy your time with the family. I'm sure you can't wait til your DD comes in today.

SEF, enjoy your baking day. I'm sure you'll do fine with the gingerbread cookies. Treat yourself to 1 and put the rest away-or have DD hide them from you. One won't kill you!

BOB, do check in before you go. Have a good and safe trip and enjoy your time with your family. We will be talking about you in Orlando, so your ears may be burning on Sat/Sun! We really wish you could of made it to this get together-we're going to miss you!!!

BUSDEB, glad to hear you enjoyed your birthday. Outback is always a good place to have dinner! Hope your Mother feels better and her legs don't get worse, but better-something to pray for and ask Santa for for Xmas

ZANNE, CONGRATS ON THE NEW LOW!!!! Doesn't that feel great to see numbers like that again!

Well gals, off to one of the rooms in the house to start to tidy up (okay, do some major cleaning, who am I trying to kid!). I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and get whatever shopping/cooking/wrapping/etc done before the holiday on Tuesday. I know many of you are lurking for a second, do try to post a quick hello if you are able to, but if you can't, we all understand and look forward to hearing from you once the dust settles down from the holidays.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!! Just wanted to get that in just in case you don't mosey onto the board after this weekend.

Hi all,

Merry Christmas all!!! I will not be on again until after Christmas as we have so many things to practice for and 3 or four places to go to do gift exchanging. Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful holiday. I am still at a standstill on the weight loss but am not going to be discouraged because I know the weight loss will start up again soon. Have had a busy week this week, first my mom fell out her back trailer door and fractured her leg and shes laid up for the next few months and then the same day my daughter turned up with the pink eye! So all in all its been hectic here. I cooked up a pan of lasagne and put it in freezer bowls so my step-dad would not have to worry about cooking and fixed them some mini quiches for breakfast so all he has to do is pop them in the microwave. And fixed them a few other things for the freezer to heat and eat. We had our christmas last nite so my hubby can enjoy our daughter playing with her new toys before he goes back to work Tuesday nite.

Debelli thanks for the encourageing words I needed them. My sister is in Florida for the holidays. She and her 5 yr old are doing Disney World and a few other things. She was supposed to have been going with my brother and a friend but at the last minute they backed out of going. Boy was she upset! But she has been planing this trip for 3 yrs so she went on by herself with her son. She called mom last nite and said she was a little scared to be there by herself but she was ok. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas.

Melf happy to hear your great news. Congrats on the weight loss. And on having all you children at home for the holidays!!

Lizery so glad to see you post have been praying for you. Glad to see you are doing better and congrats on the sizes going down.

sef hope your back gets to feeling better soon.

To everyone else have a Merry Christmas and a safe happy holiday!!!!!

Will start posting again after Christmas!!

Default Saturday

HI- I feel like I've just been out here lurking, except for the exercise board. I'm just pluggin away at trying to stay legal, and working out a lot. Yesterday I gave myself a Christmas present of a private tennis lesson and it was great. "fixed up" a few problems that I had created for myself by forgetting the basics. Amazing how much better I can move with 33 lbs less of me.
Was hoping that would be 35 by Christmas- doesn't look good for the Christmas wish weight, but stuck is certainly better than up!

Yesterday I went to Trader Joes's- lots of interesting stuff there, but lunchtime of the Friday before Xmas is probably not the best time to explore. I was disappointed that they didn't have the 2 things I was looking for: agave and 70+% chocolate, but will try it again on a less hectic day. I do know where I can get a few more bottles of agave, so I'll head there this morning.

I can't seem to wake up today- gotta go run the dog. It's real cold today so maybe that will wake me up!

Can't reply today to posts- have a great weekend everybody!

Hi everyone!!! Its been months since Ive been on this board. I took a leave as I had some personal things I needed to get a handle on. Everything is better except the weight. Ive managed to gain a few pounds after losing 20 lbs. I still have a ways to go to reach goal and hope to reach it by my 1 year anniversary in March. I plan on posting more regularly after the holidays.

Hubby and I just got back from a golfing excursion in Myrtle Beach. Nice weather and beautiful courses.

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Oh, I am dead! DD and I made peanut butter, coconut balls, toll house and gingerbread cookies (which needed special icing). Plus I made a big batch of fresh cream of mushroom soup. (by the way I used WW flour to make roux and it is gooooooood!) As a result of all this activity I am pooped.

My dd may be a nurse but doesn't realize this old gray mare ain't what she used to be. Plus rain, which is here now, threatened all day and we know that is not my best time!

Now DD is at a birthday party in Mobile, wanted me to go but I just couldn't!

I am pleased to say I did not even lick a finger, let alone have a cookie!! But oh dear, those gingerbread are calling!! They have icing and decorations too which makes it more of a sugar nightmare!!!

Tomorrow we are supposed to meet some friends in Biloxi for lunch.

All my gifts are wrapped but still have to put on the bows.

THUNDER - My husband had a job, week on/off. Santa came to our house at odd times too. The neighborhood kids thought it was great and their parents had some explaining to do as to why Santa didn't visit them at odd times too. You can't change the religious times, but the fun part of any holiday can be when you want it for your family time! The only one you can't really celebrate is New Year's Eve, that ball goes down at midnight and that's it, no replay!

CAT - Glad to see you back, we missed you.

DEBELLI - Tried to pick up your card but keep getting no such thing exists. You are encouraging me to cheat?!?! The no cheat diva of the world wants someone else to cheat?!?! OMG pass me the salts I think I'm gonna faint!!

I've been alseep for two hours now have my second wind and probably won't get to bed as I should!

Take care all. sef [/COLOR]

Okay. I am sure no one remembers me. I signed up on your bio-board a year ago, but sorry to say didn't stay with it. I have updated my bio and plan to reenter the world of the living in the New Year

I turned 50 this year and took a hard look at myself and didn't like what I saw. I am planning on changing that as of 1/1/02.

My resolution is NEW YEAR, NEW ME!!

I have recently purchased several Sugar Buster Books and plan on reading them and getting up to speed on how to do this program so that I can start out full steam on 1/1/02.

Please welcome me back into your little group as I know I am going to need lots of help and support to get to my goal for the new year!!

Hugs to you all

(Been have trouble all day getting this post on that I did this morning-seems I'm the only one-hoping it works this time!!!!)

Good Sunday Morning Everyone

Got back a little bit ago from doing my 4.5 miles (50:07). Got a later-than-usual-start today, seemed I slept a little in today-guess I was pooped!

I didn't do a darned thing yesterday OUTSIDE of the house. Only place I went outside was to throw out the garbage! I cleaned some of the house-it's so overwhelming that I don't do much for long before I stop and surf the net a little or watch some TV before going back to doing more. I was able to get the clean clothes folded and off the couch so you can actually see it now! I'm working on the dining, family and kitchen some more today. You can see I made a big dent in each room. Once those get somewhat situated (kitchen NEVER stays clean enough), I'll tackle my bedroom (never bad, just lots of books and mags near my side of bed lately) and my bathroom (bad, my hair is all over the floor!) next. Then will work on the back yard and getting some more stuff together for Goodwill-of course, it's not going to happen all in one day!!!!!

I have been very lax on keeping my food journal and it shows. I know I've been eating in excess of what I should be. Also, instead of the SB CHOC. being something I was eating once in a blue moon, it's getting quite a few times a week, so this is something else I am going to watch. Today I am going to journal everything that goes into my mouth and try to get in some water, another thing I've not been doing well on.

Didn't remember, but yesterday was my 21 MONTH SB ANNIVERSARY!!! As each month passes and I get closer to the 2 year mark (March 22), I still can't believe that I've stayed with something so well for so long!!!

THUNDER, with all that's happened with your Mom and Daughter, not to mention the holidays right upon us, you managed to get on the board and post and I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!!!! Sorry to hear about your Mom's mishap, I hope she recovers quickly. I hope your sister is enjoying her stay in the Sunshine State-she sure does have some good weather to enjoy while she's here. Hoping when we have our get-together in 2 weeks the weather will be good as well. Look forward to hearing from you again after the holiday!!!

MEL, hey, you still have a couple days, who knows, maybe you'll meet that 35lb mark. Though, if not, you sure as heck are close enough and definitely, you should be proud to make it to where you are!!! You lucky bugger you, went to TJ's! They don't carry AGAVE SYRUP, so don't bother getting your panties in a wad over them not having it. BUT, you should of been able to find the chocolate, they did carry the DROSTE as one time (didn't see it there last time I was there though) but I did see the VAHLRONA 70%, so ask for it for next time. Check out their WW PITA, SOURDOUGH BREAD, TRADER GIOTTI'S EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL, TJ'S TOMATO SPLASH (we use this in chicken, it's in a small jar-it's sundried tomatoes), if you like balsmatic vingear TRADER GIOTTI'S is wonderful. Check out the cheeses too. They carry the Cabot 75% reduced fat and a really good reduced fat gouda. I also liked their FF Jalapeno cheese, but not their FF cheddar. THe CELTIC CHEDDAR (reduced too) is wonderful. They have frozen SWEET POTATO FRIES I bought, but didn't try yet). My son loves their chickenless nuggets-very cheap too. There's lots of other good stuff there, you just need to look around really well. The nuts are a steal too there!!!!

CAT, glad to see you back on the board. We look back to having you on full force after the holidays

SEF, I am SOOOO proud of you for not giving in to temtation with all those delicious sounding cookies you made. Oh no don't get me wrong, I'm not telling you to cheat, me, NEVER! BUT, if you really did desire one of those cookies, one wouldn't kill you. For me, there's been nothing that I truly desired to have YET to tempt me to go off plan. Being that I've been able to bake with the agave syrup and be able to eat things that seem to be "bad" but are in actuality good for me on this WOE, I just don't miss anything. Not even the cheesecake my Mother made for Thanksgiving! So, of course, don't eat the cookies unless you REALLY REALLY want one-and that would be the key word-ONE I deleted your extra post-just remember, if that happens, hit the EDIT word at the top of that post, then click to mark the DELETE box and then submit it and it will remove the extra post. Hope you don't mind Hmmm, not sure why you weren't able to view the card-I haven't heard anyone else having trouble. Oh well, just was wishing all a MERRY XMAS!

CAROL, you are more than welcomed to come back and join us when yo are ready! I vaguely remember you visiting the board a few times, and you sure are right, it's been about a year. As you can see, we still have a great group of gals on our boards and we're thrilled you've decided to join us again. Please, don't hesitate to ask questions-we're here to help in whatever way we can. The BIO BOARD you were on is REALLY old. We have another one that we've kept sorta updated since then, but I am going to start a new board on the NEW YEAR, so when that gets posted, I hope you will post your BIO on that BIO BOARD with the rest of the clan Love your New Years Resolution!!!

Well gals, time for me to go. I'll check in with you all later when I get on here to start the new board for next week.

Again, for those of you who may not get on the board between now and Tuesday, I want to wish all of you who celebrate Xmas a MERRY XMAS!!!!

Toodles

HidieHo all!!

Well, I had a most profitable day!! Went to the Palace Casino in Biloxi, bought $2 roll nickels, spent 1.90 of them and won 40.60! I am not a gambler, only went to meet old friend of dd's from NM, but did not want to be bored just watching others.

Maybe I'll have to try again. Tomorrow night we're going to Bay St Louis for buffet, might just have to try my luck there!!!

We did have a good time. I had a Rueben sandwich, just pastrami, cheese, sauerkraut on rye, mustard. It was good. Rye wasn't SF, but was the lesser of all the evils on menu of the little deli counter.

Would you believe part of our tribe is at the mall tonight? They are crazy as far as I'm concerned!!! DS, dil's dad and I stayed home. We're the sensible ones.....lazy?....old?.........NO SENSIBLE!

Carol - The prodigal daughter is always welcomed back!!!

THUNDER - Hope all is well with your Mom and dd.

DEB - Know you are not encouraging me to cheat! So far so good, but I swear I hear a little gingerbready voice when I go in the kitchen calling my name!!

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday!!!

Take care, sef
