Well here's my FF contribution!
Hillary at Elementary School Hillary Clinton goes to a primary school in New York to talk about the world. After her talk she offers a question time. One little boy puts up his hand. The Senator asks him what his name is. "Bob." "And what is your question, Bob?" "I have three questions: First - whatever happened to the medical health care plan you were paid to develop during your husband's eight years in the office as President? Second - why would you run for President after your husband shamed the office? Third - whatever happened to all those things you took when you left the White House?" Just then the bell rings for recess. Hillary Clinton informs the kids that they will continue after recess. When they resume, Hillary says, "Okay, where were we? Oh, that's right, question time. Who has a question?" A different little boy puts his hand up. Hillary point him out and asks him what his name is. "Lewis." "And what is your question, Lewis?" "I have five questions: First - whatever happened to the medical health care plan you were paid to develop during your husband's eight years in the office as President? Second - why would you run for President after your husband shamed the office? Third - whatever happened to all those things you took when you left the White House? Fourth - why did the recess bell go off 20 minutes early? Fifth - what happened to Bob?" you heard about the conservation bumper stickers, same sticker for both Republican and Democrat bumpers : "Run Hillary, Run" .. . . Democrat sticker goes on back bumper . . . Republican sticker goes on front bumper |
Melf: :lol3: My mom and dad will LOVE that Hilary one!!

TECH,
What are they doing here in Sarasota? I didn't know they winter here???? Who is his DOC?? BOB |
Bob: I don't know who his doctor is, but they 'migrate' to Arcadia every winter...I thought you knew!! Sarasota is the closest decent hospital for them to get their stuff done. They lost their last 'home' during Charley...the storm flung someone's deck base through their trailer like a frisbee!! So sad...I don't think my poor mother will ever be 'untraumatized' from it all. When my dad was getting his stint put in, I was more worried for my mom...what is she going to do while waiting? What will she do if, Gawd forbid...somthing happens to my dad? I was really worried for her. My dad, I knew would be fine...my mom is a nervous wreck.

CHECK OUT MY NEW AVATAR...feel free to use it for the game!
Is your DAD ok then? Wish I was still working, I could find out anything you need to know. BOB |
BOB: GREAT avatar!! I'm jealous!! My dad is doing fine. I talked to my mom this morning and he was watching Fox News...all is coming back to normal in Dick and Jane world!! (Yes, my parents are really named Dick and Jane...I'm just glad I didn't get named Sally :O )

I was shopping at Sav A Center and noticed a little old lady following me around.
I stopped, she stopped.. Furthermore she kept staring at me. She finally overtook me at the checkout, and she turned to me and said, "I hope I haven't made you feel ill at ease; it's just that you look so much like my late son." I answered, "That's okay." "I kno w it's silly, but if you'd call out (Good bye, Mom) as I leave the store, it would make me feel so happy." She then went through the checkout, and as she was on her way out of the store, I called out, "Goodbye, Mom." The little old lady waved, and smiled back at me. Pleased that I had brought a little sunshine into someone's day, I went to pay for my groceries. "That comes to $121.85," said the clerk. "How come so much? I only bought 5 items." The clerk replied, "Yeah, but your Mother said you'd be paying for her things too." Don't trust little Old Ladies!!! |
SEF: YIPPEE!!!! SO glad to see you back on the board!!! Can you believe that news? What a surprise huh?
BOB: Glad you are ok...when my MIL told me that there were tornados in FL - I got worried - I was waiting to watch the news at 5 to see where they hit. Very sad.... Ok - I'll be back later. Took Lex to the dr and she has a sore throat - which is what I predicted. Ears looked ok though...thank goodness! I don't like having to do ear drops!! She's so hard to pin down! HA! Ok - talk to you ladies later! Mis |
Good Morning!
Those poor people in FL. Hope they get quicker help than New Orleans has gotten so far. Take care of the world but forget about home. Sorry, shouldn't make a political statement. Do not have a scale but know what I weighed before the eye surgery, so will go from there. Missy: No yippee for me, but for you and Terry WOW. Bet you have been all kind of theories as to why. I know people who have gone through all you have and everyone has an opinion. I just mark it up as another miracle! Haven't to go do my drops and get breakfast. Just wanted to check in to stay on course. |
Good Morning
Hope everyone's having a good weekend. It was good to see some Friday Funnies again. Sef - You are so inspiring with all the things you do when you have so many health problems to contend with. I consider myself lucky that I can do all the things I do at my age. I do have a bit of a problem with my knees and have some difficulty walking up and down stairs but I know that if I did not keep active I would have more problems. So I just keep going. I like to crochet too but never had any patience with the counted crossstitch. I did try one once several years ago but was a bit too ambitious and bought one that was a bit too fine and had trouble seeing where to stitch and gave up. Never tried again. I started on an afghan a couple of months ago so I have something to do when I am sitting watching tv. It's a slow process as I don't watch much tv but it will get done eventually Monet - I wish I could hide my scale. It's a darn nuisance as I just can't help weighing every day. It's like an obsession:dizzy:. Melf - Hope you will be feeling better soon and can get back to exercising. In spite of all my activity I'm not losing. I guess I just eat too much.:ink:. Pika - Welcome to the board. You will find lots of support here. :welcome2: My eating has been quite good the last couple of days. For the last two days for lunch I have had Indian dosas which are a kind of pancake made with rice and lentil flour. I cooked them with a few chopped veggies and had them with pureed lentils and veggies. They were very good and very filling. For dinner yesterday I had chicken breast with a salad and a few slices of beets. I did no snacking all day:carrot:. I bought some ww English muffins yesterday and they are still sitting on the counter. I didn't think I would be able to go to bed last night without trying one but I made it. :D. I think thats enough rambling. I have to go to the bank and the grocery store for a couple of things then I am going to a friends house to have a lesson in Indian cooking. He has a lady who comes to cook for him and she will be cooking curried okra among other things. I had some in a restaurant a while ago and it tasted good - the only other time I had okra was in a soup and that tasted really yucky and I hadn't eaten it since then. I hope anyone who has been sick or has sick family members are all feeling better. Bye for now. |
ROSALIE: You are so encouraging. I will try to be as careful with my food as you are.
My afghan is a joke. I started it when I eveacuated for Katrina. Stayed a couple of months with DIL's parents. Kay sits and watches TV, plays computer games or shops. I had nothing much to do so bought yarn and decided to make my sister an afghan. When I came home it just needed a border. Then I discovered a mistake and tore it all apart and set it aside. Just recently started it over. For some reason I have a hard time keeping this pattern even. But once again it's ready for the border. Can't wait to finish it so I can do my xst. I'm afraid if I keep doing things and moving I freeze up like the Tin Woodsman!! Kay just sent me a Hummus recipe. Is that Indian? Do you eat it like a dip or how? I think it was a recipe chain and she just wanted to keep it going. So no info. Well got to get busy, things don't clean themselves. Kevin went shopping this morning. I asked for a couple of low carb things and he went overboard! I have enough food for a couple of months.....he says I exaggerate! Take care. |
SEF: Hummus is middle eastern...Lebanese. Serve it as a dip with whole wheat pita bread cut into triangles and toasted in the oven. Yummy! When I serve it to company, I put it in a bowl, swirl the top and drizzle olive oil on it, then dust it with paprika. It looks beautiful and tastes great. Always a hit...
I am defrosting the freezer in preparation of moving it to another location. My kiln will reside where the freezer sits now. I am motivated, but my fingers are burning from the cold and my toes are numb! I really want to move along with this project, so I came upstairs to find my dearly beloved...the bum is taking a nap! |
MONET: Thanx. I will try it.
During a freezing cold snow blowing day my fingers got slightly frostbit. Now whenever I cleaned the freezer or rotated things my fingers get really cold and turn white, so know what you mean. Just do a little at a time. Don't you hate it when somebody can sleep and you can't. Maybe that his way of avoidience. If I;m sleeping I don't have to freeze my fingers!!!! LOL Only joking! Well, I'm poorer now, SS is here and I paid the bills, money is only a fleeting thing! |
Hey!
Went to Sam's today and then spent the rest of my day working on Mardi Gras costumes. I'll be sure to post a picture of a completed top. We are Pirates of the Caribbean (sp?) this year. SEF: What was our theme the year y'all were here? Was it LSU? Well, off to give Lex her meds - see y'all later! Missy |
Sef - Hummus is also good as a dip for raw veggies. I also will sometimes have it on Wasa Rye Crackers at lunch time with either a salad or bowl of soup.
