Default You know the program is working when. . .

Your husband sees your progress and wants to workout with you.

You can chase your two year old for more than 25 feet and not pass out.

You not only take the stairs because you should, but because you can now actually make it without a break in the middle.

You can't wait to get on the computer to tell everyone how much you lost last week.

You are excited, not jealous, about other people loosing weight.

"You are excited, not jealous, about other people losing weight."

Nettie, I love this one. It's so true! And what a change from the way I used to feel before I had started to lose weight. Now, I love to talk to people about their successes, big and small. I'm so motivate by them now.

Have a great day, Flib

when you don't even think about eating everything in the house at 11PM at night...

when you start setting the next week's goals as soon as or before you've reached the current one.

when you have goals every week and you don't question that you'll acheive them.

when you can fit into clothing that looked way too small just a few weeks ago.

when you pass up a glazed donut at breakfast because you already made yourself a healthy, low points meal.

when you find yourself muttering to yourself positive and supportive affirmations all the time.

when you don't fear success anymore.

Delia: I just wanted to compliment you on such an inciteful list in your post. They are all so great. [It's funny--liking them all, I neverthetless started to try to pull out my favorites. That ended up being quite a list too.--Like my friend who used to say "Fall is one of my favorite seasons." (Are your other favorites winter, spring and summer?)...But, I digress : ) ] I do love: "don't question that you'll" achieve the goals you set; and "don't fear success." Once again, great list.

This is pretty good!

How about success is being in a quandry over what to wear? Except now its because you actually have alot of choices and not limited to just a few??!

Default Program working

I luv this ideal:

I loved the one about picking up son at airport; he thought his dad was with another woman.

My favorites--you know the program is working when:

I can go into Old Navy with my boyfriend; whom wants to buy me clothes, I pick out a pair of shorts they fit and I have no problem not trying to hid them with the things he bought; because they look small; are should I say are small;
before I used to pass on his offers because my clothes looked so big; or if I did buy something; it was never on top, I would try to hid it under his clothes when we got to check out;

You know the program is working when::

my new smaller jeans do not feel tight after I wash them

lets keep it going ladies!!

You know your program is working when:

You can no longer balance your toddler on one hip, and the laundry basket on the other....

What a great idea

You know the program's working....

When your mother-in-law takes you shopping and says that size 10 is too big

When your mother-in-law and father-in-law join Weight Watchers because of the success that you have had

When your husband says to you "boy, you are a sexy wench!"

You know it's working when:

You don't have to lie down on the bed to get your jeans zipped up!

I just had to join in!

You know your program is working when you catch your 4 year old daughter trying to do lunges, and your 2 year old son has mastered the yoga position "downward dog"! (true story!)

You know it is working when you write a check at the store, and the cashier looks at your drivers license and then studies your face...making sure it is the same person!

You know it is working when you actually weigh what your drivers license says you do...

You know it is working when you know the calories in every kind of can of soda pop...(Coke-140, Pepsi-150, Mt. Dew-170, Sprite-140)

You know your plan is working when you can tell what a cup or a tablespoon is of something without having to measure anymore...

You know your plan is working when you start wearing regular length tops, and not "tunic" length.

You know the program is working when:

1. You have your yearly physical, after losing 20 lbs and the nurse that normally lectures you to lose weight doesn't even LOOK at your weight from last year. You casually ask " have I lost a few pounds" just so you can see the look on her face when she realises how much you have lost.

2. You wait with baited breath for the Eddie Bauer catalog and realise you will look smashing in anything in it!

3. DH looks at you like you were a teenage in tight jeans again....down boy!

4. You get offended that Chadwicks of Boston is sending you their plus size catalog, and call them to say you could never possible fit into anything in it.

5. You can actually run around with the kids on the sledding hill and the other mom's think you must be the new nanny in the neighborhood!

6. You wish it were a high school reunion year!

7. When you can finally fit into all those clothes you saved from college.

You know the program is working when: You think about working out at lunch time, not because you over ate, but because it makes you feel so good!

You know the program is working when: You don't want to hide in the house anymore.

You know the program is working when: You would rather have a bowl of oatmeal than an ice cream bar.

You know the program is working when: You spend more time thinking how your life is wonderful and less time thinking about how your life is horrible.

You know the program is working when: You can slip your hips between desk rows in the college lecture halls.

You know the program is working when walking 1/8 mile doesn't make you want to collapse.

This is a fun thread... great idea!

For me... you know the program is working when you see "junk food" or tempting items and automatically start calculating how many hours on the treadmill/cross trainer it will take to burn it off.
