Good morning everyone....I'm up. Gotta be at work at 12 today. Hopefully today is the last day of work for me for awhile. The security guy looked at me & told me to be prepared to work some overtime this week - it looks like they are firing another mgr. I told him I would be out of town - besides overtime is optional & I'm opting NOT to do it ALthough I really should work because my AVON sales are in the crapper - but I don't want to. I want to have 3 days off from retail & visit my cutie pie niece! Old Navy had the cutest raincoat & matching boots....I got those for my niece - she will love them & I can't wait to give them to her!!
Freaky - the only exercise I do in the morning is dancing to the music videos. Have you seen Pink's stupid girls - that one makes me giggle!
Schatzi - 67....can I have some of that weather...it's cold & nasty here in the motor city!
Mamahulk - I've been thinking about getting another one. I have a lady bug on the chest now. I want a tiarra on my hip! Let us know what you get!
Pearsy - (((good vibes))) for the exam!
Ruthie, USMC,Cottage, KO, and Bat - hello & have a good day....I'll see ya later!

Ko-Good Luck in Phase 1,are you doing it for a whole week or a few days???

Cottage-Sorry to hear your Maggies is not feeling well,Hope she on the mend soon, and you get rid of that headache.

Mamahulk-Your amazing having no sleep and the exercising inbetween screaming babies. It makes me ashame of myself, having nothing to do,as I'm retired.

Good morning everyone! I'm officially starting SB today. I'm making my list for the grocery store tomorrow, right now I'm making do with the foods I already have at home. But I really need to stock my pantry and fridge with the right kind of foods.

I've been on a major sugar kick that I'm so ready to get off of. I hate the way it makes me feel. My youngest daughter, Abby, is a Brownie and I am the Cookie Mom for her troop and today I have to go pick up the cases of cookies. All the extra boxes I will be storing in my dining room but I am determined to just not go there. If I don't take the first bite, then I'll be fine. I know given time, the cravings will lessen. At least I hope so!!

What are you favorite lunches and snacks on this plan?

Mamhulk - I got my first tattoo last summer. I'm the same age as you and I'd been wanting one since I was a teenager. It's on the inside of my right ankle and I love it. I'm planning on getting another one on my back, between my shoulder blades.

Have a great OP day and I'll probably check back later!

Tyra

Ruth: Thanks for the advice. I just had some breakfast, I'm going to give myself some time to digest and then I'm going to go for a run. Having eaten, I already feel more awake and ready to go. That's so sad about Art. The saddest part is that his wife can't be there for him. I'm glad that he has you to talk to.

Mamhulk: What kind of tattoo? And where? I have three and they're all strategically placed on parts of my body that don't easily gain weight (my foot, my ankle, and my back).

Cottage: I'm so jealous; I miss the snow. My daughter saw some frost on the grass the other day and asked if we could build a snowman with the "snow". She was so disappointed when I explained that it was only frost.

Schatzi: It wasn't until I saw your post did I realize how warm it's supposed to be today. (I live in NC, too.) I think I'll move my run outside.

batmomm: Good Morning!

pearshape: How do you go about tracking your calories? Is there a particular online program that you use?

kyemom: How old are your kids? I wonder if my oldest would be interested in going to the circus. She'll be 3 in May. We took her to see Laurie Berkner and the Wiggles and she had a blast at those.

Okay, time to PT. I'll be back later.

The house is clean, laundry's done, and I deserve a break! I was just thinking how easy Jake has it. Here it is, I have the morning "off" , and instead of being able to relax, I've been running my A** off, getting things done. When he gets home from work, all he does is turns into a couch potato, and the only effort needed by him is to get himself to the table for supper! Okay, he will clean the house if he happens to have a day off, but that is rare.

Sorry, I'm done venting .

sumchoney, I usually have a cup of tea before I exercise, then eat breakfast afterwards. I didn't even used to have anything to drink beforehand because I would have to pee (urgently) while working out, but a girl fainted once during her workout, and it was due to being dehydrated. So I have a cup about 1/2 hour before, and make sure I pee before I workout. (I'm sure you all wanted to hear that, LOL)

3darlingsmomma: I couldn't imagine having all of those cookies in my house. Cookies are my weakness. Just thinking about Thin Mints makes my mouth water. I've always been under the impression that it's bad to snack in between meals, so I'm not used to snacking. That's one of the things that I love about South Beach. My favorites are celery with light laughing cow cheese or natural peanut butter, almonds, sugarfree jello gelatin, and string cheese. For lunch, I usually eat salads or leftovers or turkey wraps (lettuce leaves, slicked lowfat turkey, dijon mustard and low fat cheese). I'm surprised by how filling the turkey wraps are.

Hi everyone! Not much new with me today, but it is nice weather! Today my research group is taking a visiting professor out to lunch and of course they selected a place! Not sure what else they have, maybe salads and stuff, but I am going to be fighting to stay on program today!!! The there are yummy so I'll definitely need to use my will power!

pearshape ~ I hope everything goes well with your test!

USMCHoney ~ You are going to love it here!

3darlingsmomma ~ and good luck starting on the beach! I usually eat on the run (at school) so I'll usually pack a big salad with some chicken on it (or soup and salad) or a plate of leftovers from the previous night's dinner. If I'm really desperate, I'll bring in one of the SBD boxed wrap kits I know those aren't the best for you, so I try to make those a VERY occasional thing...

Everyone, have a GREAT afternoon, and I'll talk to you again soon!

Hi Girleys!
I haven't been to the gym in almost a week. I am still losing weight, though. My tight pants are almost baggy or at least a little roomier. I've been feeling so drained and so busy & my gym membership expired so I think I'm gonna wait until my next payday to start going again. By then I'll be finished with my required AA's & have a little more time. If I don't slow down for a little while I might just burn myself out & get sick or something. Plus at work, were launching a new magazine on top of our 19 others & we're really being pushed to do well on that while keeping up on my regular tasks & another new project (too complicated to describe). I hate making excuses but I think some extra time for a couple of weeks will do me good. DH's new job has been making him not be home until about 8pm - give or take - so we're both a little stressed. When I renew my membership, I'm signing up for a full year w/ monthly automatic withdrawal. That'll be nice.
Time for my morning snack.
Untill later!

Thanks for all the great suggestions, keep 'em comin'! At least for dinner I should do ok since I usually cook some type of meat anyway. I just plan on having side dishes that I are good for me as well as a side dish for hubby and the kids.

Schatzi - My tattoo is a flower with petals, not real big but not real small.

Thanks for such the warm welcome everyone. I'm kinda worried about this weekend and getting through it OP. I am going shopping on Saturday so I know I'll be eating out at least once that day and I just want to make the right choices.

I find myself feeling sad about what I can't have which is something I have always struggled with while trying to lose this weight. I need to change my focus to what I can have. I need to change my outlook on this whole process, view it as a good thing, not a bad thing. I don't know I focus on the negative aspects, it's almost like I'm a little kid rebelling against my parents looking out for me. It's hard for me to put to words. The crazy thing is that I get all down on having to change the way I eat, rather than looking at it as getting my life back. Eating the way I have hasn't been a good thing.

Sorry to ramble on, I apologize if I don't make any sense!

Hello everyone! I have not had time to read all the posts - I am frantically cleaning house today - my house is SO out of control! I'm down a pound today - ok - well half a pound - but to me that counts - lol - that's my little system - I round down - ha ha! Anyway - every 1/2 counts - so I am happy! My clothes are fitting better - and a few things I could not get into before - I can now. And - I am going to be so so excited to see that scale go below 240!!

Later!
Heather

I'm really busy at work today but I just had to comment about tattoos. I've had mine for about 12 years and I love it! I have two dolphins on my right thigh. From the tip of the nose to the tail fin they are about 6 inches so they aren't small. They are done in three shades of blue with white and black and water dripping from the tail so they look pretty realistic. I love them! I did hate having to wait a year to donate blood afterwards though. Make sure you are having it done at a reputable place so you don't need to worry about hepatitis or HIV.
