Talking Thursday Chick Chat - April 7

Morning Chicks!

Anyone else noticing a slow server this morning? Maybe it's just me...hmmm...

Anyway, I thought I would get us started this morning as it's 7 am here and no one has yet to say good morning! WAKE UP ladies!

I'm only slightly sleepy this morning. We didn't make it to bed until 10:30, but it was a relaxing evening nonetheless.

I took off a little early yesterday, ahh...the few perks of self-employment, and took Shelby for a walk. Felt good to get outside as it was nearly 80 here and it's supposed to rain today. I will try to hit the mall for a walk at 8...wish me luck!

Picked up Bry and headed home. Because it was so nice out I tossed him his basketball and the dog and told him to play while I cleaned up the kitchen, just as long as he cleaned the living room when he got back. He not only did the living room, but made dinner! Almond Crusted Chicken Fingers...wow, they were great with a few additions of some seasonings. I made a bit of honey dijon mustard SB style and then took my 10 lbs of chicken and made 3 bags of Dump Chicken. Can't wait to try them!

So we showered and then ate in our clean house....ahhh, such a good feeling.

Shelby has sucessfully chewed up the entire plush snake (4 ft long) and the stuffing is now all over the front of my store...I think I may clean that before I hit the mall.

Oh and I'll post a picture of my lighting fixture tomorrow, glad you ladies like the idea! Let's start a trend!

good morning, I don't know you yet, but I was recently advised to just pop in and say hello. So I have. I am off to work, teaching my wonderful (chokes) 7th graders. My voice has disappeared, so this is not looking like a great day for me! How am I supposed to review for our state science test with no voice! Im so screwed.

Don't worry, I am normally not this negative. I will be very happy any other morning. I actually am thrilled, this morning on the scale I lost 1.5 lbs. Yay! now I am only 10 away from my goal!

Have a great day everyone.

Jamie

Way to go Louise!
And good morning by the way. Good luck with that review....doesn't sound fun to me even if you had a voice! Nice to meet you. I'm off for a walk!

Sarah, Ruth mentioned (elsewhere) that the server was slow this morning, so it's not just you.
Can't wait to see the light pic!!

Jamie, I'm so glad you've joined us! Congratulations on the weight loss!! I'm sorry about your voice, hon... hope it comes back soon. And good luck with the test!!

Bamie, we love you, hon... hope all is well...

Active, I know you're out there reading and can't post... hope you're having a good day, sweetie!

It rained last night, and it's stopped now, but looks pretty crummy out there. I may get outside anyhow, and do a bit of yard work.
Talk to you later, chicks!

Good morning chicks

Louise~~Welcome to the beach! Sorry to hear that you lost your voice.

Sarah~~Thanks for starting us off today. What type of dog is Shelby?? Ellis is right (she has a mind like a steel trap), my littlest Yorkie's name is Shelby, too. That's her in my avitar pic. I'm having the Almond Crusted Chicken tonight for dinner.

Bamie~~How is your mom doing?? You are both in my thoughts and prayers

Ellis~~Have you found any microfiber cloths for all of your stainless steel?? They are a life- saver for keeping SS, mirrors, granite (any shiney surface. really) streak-free. I get mine at Walmart and Sams Club in the automotive section cause thet're much cheaper than at Solutions.

Ruth~~How's the basement doing? I hope you and H are keeping dry.

Me~~ Week 1, Day 5 and I'm staying OP
I worked in the yard the past few day amongst all the pollen. Then I mowed the old dry bermuda grass to get it ready for Spring and even though I wore a mask I now have a wonderful case of allergies (very sore throat, runny nose, headache, earache, basically feel like crap.) I had to miss a meeting at work yesterday evening.
It's raining today, so I'll do some house cleaning (if I can find the energy).

I also need to cook and restock some SB items to have on hand (HB eggs, Veggie Quiches, slice mushrooms and cucumbers to dip in Hummus, SF jello).

Good Morning Everyone,

I have not been that active on here this week, I have been so busy at work...

Sarah...What kind of business do you have and what kind of doggie is Shelby?

Jamie...I hate when I lose my voice, it is that time of year...need some Clariton! Best of luck with the test review...yuck! Congrats on the weight loss!!!!!!!!!!!

Ellis...Sorry it is rainy again today. We have had 3 beautiful days down here in West "By God" Virginia and today looks like rain. I am so silly, but I bought a new umbrella and I want to use it....I am mental!!!!!!!!!!

Sil...Hope you have a good day and your allergies clear up, it is just the wonders of Spring.

I have another busy day at work, but will try to pop in from time to time to check in.

My best friend Mrs. Charleston (we work together) is getting ready for the pageant this weekend. You guys should see her, she is so beautiful. Last night she got an airbrush tan. I was amazed at how well that works, no streaks and very natural. Everyone say lots of prayers for her. The pageant is at 5:30 this Saturday, so send happy thoughts her way... She is the sweetest, kindest, best friend, funny, down to earth, considerate and loving person I know. She is also very, very beautiful so in my mind she is a shoe in!!!!!!!!! Go Mrs. Charleston, Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning Ladies

Well, spring has oficially sprung here in the great NC. EVERYTHING IS YELLOW!!!!!!!!! Lord, I hate pollen. My allergies are kicking up. My contacts are about to itch out of my eyes and my nose will not quite running. I could really do WITHOUT this. I love spring - just hate when the pollen starts. Oh well, it's supposed to rain pretty hard here today - so maybe it will wash most of it out of the trees and all.

Bamie ~ Where are you this morning??

Ruth ~ Hope all is well

Ellis ~ Love ya girl. Hope you have seen some geese by now

Louise ~ Welcome to the Beach - believe me - you are not the only one around here who complains We all do at times. Personally, I think it's healthy to let others know how you feel and what's buggin' ya. Join in anytime!!

Sil ~ Hey lady. How goes the gardening around your house?? All of my bulbs and flowers are comin' up. My peoneys are starting to peek in too. I love peoneys. Just hard to keep the ants off of em.

Sarah ~ Good morning to you. Have a nice walk

Well, gotta go for now - I'll check back in later.

Hope everyone has a great day

Finally was able to get in here. Apparently there were some server problems last night but they are being resolved. We really should set up a MOD-only email list for The Beach so we can keep in touch if we ever crash! I used to have a Yahoo site for Low Carb - maybe I'll set up another one for The Beach. I'll let you know in a separate post.

Glad to see you posting with us, Jamie. Welcome to The Beach. So sorry about the lack of voice. I can't imagine teaching Grade 7 silently!

Adia/Sarah, thanks for starting us up. I saw you online but couldn't get in to even read, much less post! I am going to get some chicken and try the Dump Recipes. I may have to change the name for Harry though!

Ellis, it's way too wet to do much out there. About all I can do is get the soggy leaves off my perennials. There is action there though! (I know that's the encore smiley but it says Spring to me.)

Sil, sorry about the allergies but envious of your head start on spring. If I ever get South, I definitely want to see your gardens.

Sunny, you do sound very busy. Entrepreneur? I love it!

Rayneysmom, nice tos ee you posting again. Sorry about the allergies but envious of the weather.

Little Chick, sometimes new windows are better than hunky guys! My Bill, Bill and Bill weren't that hunky either.

Rather sad start to the morning. As I lugged the garbage out to the road, I noticed my new neighbour leaning against her car. I went over to introduce myself and found she was crying over the body of her old cat. Of course I hugged her and cried with her. She's a psychiatric nurse and kept apologizing over crying! WTF? Of course you'd cry over a pet, nurse or not!

There is still some wet cardboard in the basement but I am going to leave it until tomorrow and may take it to the dump myself on Saturday unless one of my Shining Knights shows up. This morning, I'm going to clean out my fridge finally! (I've been talking about doing it for a week now.) Aside from potatoes and onions, celery is the only veggie around here - canned don't count. l have three apples, one pommelo and four oranges so am really going to hit the produce department when I go to town this afternoon. Jane comes at noon and I'll be outta here!

to anyChick I've missed. Back later.

Ruth,

I am a grants specialist for non-profit called Mission West Virginia. Mrs. Charleston is the communications specialist.

We just had a sub-award grant period and we are awarding 22 faith-based and community-based organizations with lots of $$$$$$$$$$. I have to write all the letters and get out reporting requirements, etc...lots of work, but fun work. It is really cool to be able to help people!

Rock and Roll!!!!!!!!!!!

Microfibre cloths... must look for those... thanks, Sil!
ouch... sounds like you need some meds for those allergies, hon!

Sunnybunny, you come on up here, and you can use your new umbrella. Actually, I don't mind the rain. We've had some really lovely weather lately, and the rain cleans and greens things up.

Kelly, by the time I got to your post, my sinuses were starting to ache. Do you take anything for the allergies?
Contacts... darned things. I was at the cash at the hardware store yesterday, and one popped out onto my cheek. I had to do the "spit clean" in front of the cashier. Fortunately she was a contact wearer herself, and was completely sympathetic.
BTW, still no geese over Ottawa! Send 'em up!!

Little Chick, pictures of the new windows?

Jen, good luck this weekend!! You go, girl!!

Soon2b, so glad you're feeling better! I hate the dentist. They're all torturers.

Ruth, what the hoodle doo is a pommelo?
That's so sad about your neighbour and her cat. I'll bet she was glad you went over to talk to her.
