  • Thank Laurie

JoJo is a bit frisky, and likes to play. I think it's more me. I hate the hissing, which I know all cats do.

We may try to foster a kitten and see how that works first. JoJo is an SPCA baby and I'd like to do that again.

JoJo used to climb our curtains as a baby. We got her when she was 9 months old. My friend fostered her and my ex and I would cat sit for Jo and the other 3 cats she had (one being Jo's sister). I took Jo's sister (Beth ---Little Women theme much?) in when the ex and I split and Beth went after Jo (causing Jo to pee all over the place)

Jo apparently was the dominent one way back when. Maybe it was Beth's way of getting back at her? LOL.
  • LOL about Beth getting back at Jo (love the Little Women theme! )...I totally know what you mean. My MIL's first dog was much bigger than the puppy she fostered, then adopted (she's known as a 'foster failure' ) and attacked him regularly. He grew up into a huge dog at least 1/3 bigger than her, and now he thumps her back regularly.

Fostering would be an ideal situation! I love it when people adopt and foster. There are so many babies out there that are killed because they aren't adopted.

I saw a guy walking his dog the other day near the gym. The dog was very obviously not neutered. The gym is in a poor area of town...so I don't know if he just couldn't afford it, but I felt like stopping him to tell him about the low-cost spay/neuter program. I just hate the thought of more unwanted animals...

Okay...off the soapbox (or maybe you're still laughing at the thought of me checking out a dog's 'equipment'! )... I agree about the hissing. It gets my hackles up. But you never know...maybe Jo will love the new kitten!
  • How did you know I'd be laughing at that

I hope Jo will love new baby X
  • Maxx is back at 100% I'd like to report

Eating, drinking, jumping up on things, roaming around etc. It's such a great thing. I'm beaming with joy - really I am! He's taking antibiotics still. And he's being spoiled with canned cat food and being allowed to sleep on the couch!

I know that prayers were answered on this one!

    Thanks everyone for your comments!
  • Great news! The Girls and I send regards and a little bag of catnip!

  • Hi all,
We have 3 cats: Jack & Diane are 3 year old sibling himalayan babies. We adopted them from a shelter.

Diane (Littlebit) is my baby and she is the sweetest thing I have ever seen. She loves feet though, I go barefoot all the time and when I sit down she lays over them and cleans my feet! I gave up trying to make her stop.

Jack is my DH's and he gets a bit rowdy with the other two but loves to snuggle and get his belly rubbed. Now the third one is my son's and she is

Patches a 15 lb calico. HUGE!!!! maybe she needs the SBD
When we adopted the himmy babies, Patches hated them. Hissed and growled all the time. It took her 2 years to accept Jack, but she tolerates Littlebit.
  • Wow Tammy! 15 lbs

JoJo is about 13 or so, so I shouldn't talk

Going to Petsmart this weekend (as well as today) to look at kitties
  • Christy, so glad to hear Maxx is doing well! Head scritches to him from me!

Tammy, your furkids sound darling! 15 pounds is nothing...my friend has a 27 pound Maine Coone that loves chicken fingers.

Yay for adopting kitties, Jenn! Can you take JoJo with you to see how she reacts to the kitties?

Oh you make me miss having a cat, ladies! DH is allergic, so usually I try to love up my friends' cats when I can.
  • I just realized I have a picture of Brian with our cat, Allie, at Pet Day this week. She was very calm and curious while on a harness in front of all the second grade kids.

  • Barb, that's just a delightful picture! They both shine! Brian looks so proud and happy, not to mention cute!
  • the new member to our family is...
Little Aimee (since we have a JoJo and I like 2 letter per syllable names, I've begun called her MeMe).

JoJo doesn't like her all that much but at the same time it seems she doesn't want to be mean to her either. MeMe's been in the bedroom and we opened the door today and so far so good. MeMe got too close once and Jo jumped off the couch and hissed at her, which scared us all.

JoJo's been grunting and kissing but not loud. She seemes scared of the little one!

    Mama's fraidy cat!

  • My Cairns Casey and Darby
Hi All, These are our two fur babies. Casey is on the left and Darby on the right.
Casey is 1.5 yrs old and Darby is 2. They are the light of our life! Casey is a broad. She's the clown who thinks she is the size of a great dane. Darby is a princess, hates to go out in the rain. Darby loves to play fetch with cat balls (NOT LITERALLY LOL) just small toys..where as Casey couldn't be bothered and would rather play tug. Darby loves to lick fabric for some reason, and Casey, well we call her Missy Lick-a-lot. She loves to give everyone mucho kisses!

  • Wow, love the pictures of everyone's pets!

Brian and Allie are both adorable, Barb! He does look supremely happy.

Aimee is darling, Jenn! I bet JoJo will come around, in time.

Schatzi, Casey and Darby have such personalities...how fun!
  • I can't remember if I posted Hershey and Lucy pictures.
All the little pets are adorable!
On a sad note, my mouse died today..............

but I went to the store and for $21.95 I got a new one ....an Acrox optical mouse! Gotcha!
