Just back from Church and waiting for my friends to show to stack wood.

You know, I asked Ellis if she was rid of her mice and bragged that mine were gone. Yesterday I checked the traps - not sprung but the bait gone! Little rats! And then, this morning, I got my Food Bank cereals out of the trunk of my car where they'd been since Thursday. Mice are in my car! They ate the cereal and chomped the labels off the peanut butter jars! Aaaarrrrggggghhhhh! I really don't eat in my car. They must live in the barn and just "visit". Unless I've been road running with a mouse family in there. Watch out, rodents! This is WAR!

Have a super Sunday morning. It's gorgeous here but cold.

Morning!

Mama Hope you were able to get some sleep. Sounds like a frustrating night.

Bamie I am having a tough time dragging DH out of bed for church. He has worked 30 hours in the past two days, though, so I think I will let him sleep and just DD and myself will go.

Ruth Hope you got through your "niggle" work yesterday. I have tons of that kinds of stuff to do.

Not much to report here. DD's first soccer game was a crack-up. They are only 3 years old. Some kids seem to "get" the game, while others, my DD included, have no idea. She came running off the field at one point because she wanted a hug. Ya gotta love it!

No big Valentine's plans here- my DH and I don't tend to buy presents for one another often. I am making a nice meal tonight- Salmon with a Red Bell Pepper Coulis over Zuchinni Noodles. YUM!

Have a super Sunday all!

Hello everyone,

It snowed here today but it's too warm to stick, thankfully.

BFL Cat - good job on Ph. 1 - Way to Go!

Patty/1day@atime - welcome back to the beach

RNMOM - You mentioned basic training but didn't mention which branch of service. There are two basic training posts in SC, Ft. Jackson (Army, Columbia, state capitol) and Parris Island (Marines, Beaufort, at the beach). The reason I mention this is because if you are going to Columbia, that is my old stomping grounds. I can tell you about a hidden place, Rockaways, that has great burgers (for the rest of the family, of course). They were written up in Southern Living a few years ago. For obvious reasons, there are bunches of good (and not-so-good) restaurants around the Fort. PM me if you would like any info about the area. If you're going to Beaufort, all the restaurants are good - fresh seafood!! I've never been to any of the graduation ceremonies, but I've heard they're nice. Have a great trip.

Nat - are you using the same exact set of scales at Home Depot every time? or is it a set that is for sale? The for-sale scales in the package have not been calibrated so they won't be accurate or consistent.

Kiko - your meal tonight Salmon with a Red Bell Pepper Coulis over Zuchinni Noodles sounds DEVINE!!!! (do we have a drooling smiley?)

Ruth - mice in the trunk

Hi to everyone else. Have a good remainder of the weekend.

Morning Chickies!

I have been awol for the last few days due to putting my back out

I have been in bed and on painkillers for the last 4 1/2 days.....

I am just so cranky because I was doing really great with the exercise and now that has all stopped and will for awhile. I have a doctors appointment this morning, so hopefully that will help.

Hope that you are all well,
Take care,
Marianna

Hi, everyone. Yesterday was a lot of fun. I spent almost 6 hours picking up cans for Scouting for Food. We knocked on doors in our area and then drove by and picked up bags in some areas that had been overlooked. My den collected over 600 cans (and that was with 3 of our 10 scouts missing).

Today was the usual errand day. Groceries, laundry, and the normal stuff. It is getting harder and harder for me to find the Hodgson's Mills pasta in my area. I'm going to have to order from their website again, I think.

Brian seems to be feeling better. So far his fever has stayed down enough that he should be back in school tomorrow. I'm glad since they exchange valentines in class and he has decorated a shoe box to look like a cat and is really excited about it.

Kiko - If the meal turns out as great as it sounds, can you post the recipe? It sounds yummy. I hope your family avoids this flu. It is widespread throughout Richardson. Isn't this weather gorgeous?

Nat - The problem may not be only that you are using different scales (if you are) but that you aren't weighing first thing in the morning. I find my weight later in the day will vary from day to day based on what I have eaten and drank (as well as what I am wearing) but the first of the morning weight is the most accurate.

RNMOM - Happy Birthday!

gish - Congrats on reaching half way! You must be excited.

1day@atime - Welcome! Look through the FAQ section for the updated food lists. Feel free to ask questions. We're always glad to help.

Bfl_cat - There have been several threads recently about when to start Phase 2. Just make sure you don't get bored. Many people stall when they try to extend phase 1 longer than 2 weeks.

Oh, no! Girl Scout cookies just got here! I ordered kinds that my son loves but don't tempt me much so I should be okay.

OK... back from the doctor's and I have apparently caused some muscle damage..ummm muscle rigidity and spasming I think she said.. so some anti inflamatories, gentle stretching and some remedial massage.. hopefully better in 2 weeks! errrrrr so long.

But my electric treadmill arroved this afternoon and I figure that some gentle walking will be just fine as long as I don't go crazy.
