Default New here

Hello,

My name is Shannon. I actually did South Beach about 2 years ago when I borrowed the book from my friend, read it and lost 40lbs. I was doing great and within reach of my goal, and then I started letting myself have a few too may rule-breakers. I was allowing myself to have 1 "cheat day" a month. Anything went on that day, and then I'd do a Phase 1 afterwards to get on track again and it was going well. It was a relief to know I could allow myself my traditional Thanksgiving favs and such and still get back on track. But then the cheat days started happening more often and the Phase 1-ing stopped. Two years later and I've gained back 20 of the pounds that I lost. Not horrible, but really not in the right direction so I decided I needed another Phase One commitment to get back in the right frame of mind. I started yesterday and also added walking (1 hour daily goal) to my routine since I'm pretty much a couch potato. I found this group through a link I found on twitter and I'm hoping it helps keep me focused.

Welcome! I'm new too. This is my second day on SB. Loving it! Not having to count calories, carbs, fats or points is a blessing!

Welcome! It really does help to check in here everyday, whether it's on the daily thread or just to read others and post your own meal plan. It helps me to stay accountable and find new ideas, I really don't think I'd be able to do it alone!

Oh I know! I've tried those diets... counting calories, keeping a journal, even iPhone apps to record my every intake, point systems... I can't do it. I know it works for many people, but I don't want that much math with my meals!

On Day 3 now. My husband is happy I'm doing South Beach again. He says I cook better dinners when I do South Beach. He may be right. Last night we had baked pork tenderloin stuffed with baby spinach, garlic & onions with a low-fat cheddar sauce and a side of steamed broccoli and a baked tomato. Well, actually he had a stuffed tofurky chicken breast prepared the same way because he's a vegetarian, but he said it was awesome.
