Unhappy Numbers don't lie.

If you're negative in your bank account, you know it and it shows. If you receive a bad test score, it knocks down your GPA. And of course 1+1 is 2, and a size 14 is not a size 4.

But how come when you (in general) lose 10 pounds it doesn't show? Are the numbers lying? Short answer is no, but I feel like they are. I've lost 10 pounds since I started but I haven't seen any change yet and it's getting me very discouraged. I can't get past the fact that being in the 190's again makes me happy, yet so sad. Where did I go wrong? How did I let my life get this out of control? Numbers. That's how. I ate too many calories and didn't burn off enough.

I'm on day 14 of Phase 1 and I believe I will continue on it for a week or so. I don't know if I will be happy until I lose a pants size, then the numbers won't seem like they are lying anymore. Maybe I have driven my self esteem so far down after adding over 80 pounds to my small/medium bone structure that nothing will bring it back up, not even losing 10 pounds in 2 weeks.

I need some encouragement. I need not the praise for losing 10 pounds but the ambition to lose more and more so I can finally prove to myself that the scale is not lying.

I have to keep my chin up, straighten my posture and reach out my hand so that I can again have faith in numbers through you, my support group.

Have you taken measurements? I always measured my waist, still do when I weigh. That tells me if the scale is spot on or if I'm off track.

Numbers do lie! Or at least they don't tell the whole story. Forget numbers for a while. Focus on how you feel. And not just your size. But do you feel better when you are eating better?

Are you sure that you don't have some clothes that fit better than before? I have lost 10 pounds recently (I lost some before my ticker.). This morning, I put on some capris that I couldn't button at the beginning of summer. I was braced for disappointment.LOL I was so happy when they snapped. I have kept them on ALL day!

With a 10 pound loss you are doing something right! Be patient and keep at it!

Thank you ladies, it's just the motivation I needed! I will try the tips and tricks that you've suggested. My clothes don't really feel loser to me, my boyfriend says they look it but maybe I can't see past all my imperfections. I do have my older measurements from my heaviest weight so I will remeasure and compare. I do feel healthier on SBD, and I never feel deprived.

Thank you, and good luck with weight loss and maintenance

"Do not minimalize your progress and praise yourself for all achievements - big and small"--God must have led me to this for u and I! U have to lose 10 to get to 80. U deserve a pat on the back and u do not need to stay on Phase I past today! Give yourself a reward for losing 10lbs! Maybe a facial or go see a movie tomorrow.!

I am encouraging you to keep going until your self-esteem catches up with your weightloss. I know it will happen to you, because it happened to me and I read about it all the time. I had a moment at 6 weeks where I felt fatter than when I started EVEN when my clothes told a different story. You are doing just great and keeping your momentum is essential! Just prepare yourself mentally every single day for the sabotaging thoughts which may pop into your head from time to time.

Best wishes!

What I like to do is have a pair of pants that are too tight and then try them on every week or two, so that I can more objetively tell what the numbers aren't necessarily telling me.
