Whoops! Slept in a bit and my timely reminder just popped up. I have to have the car at the station by 7:30 for it's usual servicing. It'll be a quick shower and breakfast and I'm outta here. (Note to Self: Remember to get dressed.)
I had a lot of updates waiting to be downloaded first thing this morning, and am just now checking in.
So where is everyone on this fine morning? I'm finding it harder and harder to get out of bed while it's still dark out, but the smell of coffee helps lure me out.
Nothing special on my agenda for today. Since it's going to be warm and sunny, I think I'll start clearing out the girls' garden and rake it. We were going to plant a fall crop of lettuces, but never got around to it. Their tomatoes are still producing well, so I'll leave those in a bit longer. My tomato plants have gone dormant already, but I'm getting loads of acorn and butternut squash.
Good morning The new job has me getting up and immediately making my work plan for the day. That makes my day easier but doesn't leave me as much time for checking in. I know that will get better as time goes on (it already is).
Ruth - Hope there are no surprises at the mechanics.
Cottage - It's not so warm here but definitely sunny. Happy harvesting.
I'll pop back in later from my other office (a local coffee shop with WiFi!).
I had to post and edit so I didnt' miss it I will admit, I am still up from the night before.... tired too... insomnia prevails... and I will admit I tried to kill it with yuengling, and it didn't work....
Hoping to be in bed in an hour or so for a nap... Hope you chickies have a great day!
Good morning! I'm excited for my son today; he just signed up for a January school program in Egypt! And, his scholarship pays for it! Now I am nudging him to update his resume and go the internship career fair tomorrow. Mothering long distance. DH is having serious dental work done today, including a tooth pulled and temporary bridge. I'll have the house to myself for hours with no car so may just nap after last night's late football game. Probably no bike ride today thanks to rain.
Hubby is off for two weeks. I took today off to spend the day with him. We are going for a walk this morning and have planned to walk again tonight when ds and dd are practicing football and cheerleading. I had to restart phase 1 yesterday. It is much harder to restart phase 1 this time, but I am going to stick to it this time.
I had coffee there while my car had its oil changed. I need a new oil pan and some gaskets so will be doing the same thing later in the week when the parts are in.
The guys are working on the porch roof for the Mill Museum today. They are set up with coffee and muffins but I'll take down bunwiches, some apples and cookies for lunch. The only eating place in town, Bob's Diner, is now on winter hours so they can't eat there. The joys of tourist town living in the off season!
Disney and I do pet therapy at the nursing home this afternoon and then I need to pick up the new books for tonight's Book Club meeting. Things are accelerating too fast for me! I'm still in vacation mode and was hoping to hang onto that until I leave for Italy on the 30th. I am culling clothes and already have a big bag for Goodwill. If I didn't wear it last year, I won't wear it this year!
I'm dragging this morning. My van wouldn't start. I had to call my neighbor to jump me off. My Aspie son was not a happy camper that he had to get a tardy. I hope that he is able to recover from the change in schedule and still get good behavior today.
My workout partner called in late this morning. I just finished my shower. I'm about to eat breakfast. Then it is off to check out the Mother's Day out program for my daughter. I'm just giddy at the thought of having hours off on Tuesdays and Thursdays. (I have dreams of dropping her off and going to the Greenway to ride my bike. ) She needs to go play with other kids. She loves being home with me, but she was used to going to daycare every day.
Okay, breakfast, Mother's Day out, get my workout partners butt in gear, housework. And it begins!
I certainly missed the boat this morning! We helped our friend last night and didn't get home until 10 . I just got up! Nothing special today-just the usual...and with more time to spare in the AM.
I thought I'd get to get a few greetings in, unfortunately when we get up so late everyone is up! I guess I'll reluctantly get going here.
Rikki-I was glad to see you, but sorry it was because of your insomnia! I feel for ya'!
Hey all! Drive by, too much to do away from the 'puter this afternoon. Am re-thinking my daily eating schedule now that I'm getting up so much earlier for he new job. Anyone have success with mini-meals throughout the day? I'm trying that, and since I'm coffee-free, it seems to be helping me maintain a constant energy level.
FoodO, good luck. Karen: Egypt!!! What a lucky kid! Must be smart too.
Will be back this evening for some much-needed browsing . . .
