Default Thursday Thoughts and Things

Yay! I get to start the Daily! Woke early for a change, was thinking niggles and decided to get up. I may be getting back into my routine. I've got the dogs organized, my coffee and am ready to tackle the day.

Paul is coming this morning with fans and dehumidifiers to continue getting the basement dried out. I am starting a new quilt - this one for ME on MY bed. I think it's time. And then I have a Fair Board meeting tonight.

How does your Thursday look? Sit and chat a bit.

Oh, Ruth...tell us about the new quilt..colors etc!

Had the biggest surprise of my life on Tuesday. Someone drove up in our driveway. I didn't recognize the car. Looking a little closer, I saw 2 girls get out and thought they were probably friends of my son's girlfriend and I was headed to the door to tell them she was at work and not here.

Then, I saw one of them was holding a little yorkie and thought "ah, just like my daughter's little Coco" took another second before I started screaming "OMG, OMG". It WAS my daughter! I haven't seen her since May (she lives in L.A.) Apparently everyone in the family knew she was coming in but me...she wanted to surprise me and boy did she! I'm taking off of work tomorrow and we are hitting New Orleans for a girl day. She'll be here till Tuesday!

Good morning Ruth It's going to be light in the morning soon so I'm sure the dogs will be back in their old routine Sounds like your day is just the right amount of planned and unplanned time. Happy quilting.

Today is massage day, always a good thing. I schedule them for the end of the work day (of course) so I have something to look forward to

The house smells funny. DW was making chili for a thing at work and grabbed the curry powder instead of the chili powder Oops. I told her to tell everyone it's her secret Indian Chili recipe. I hope they eat some because I'm not sure the smell works for me.

How is your almost the weekend day shaping up?

ETA - good morning Cat. What a wonderful surprise! I know you will enjoy the next few days

Default Thursday thoughts

Hey all! Hope everyone had a great night. I didn't sleep particularly well, not sure why.

Nothing much of note today - same old, same old. Tomorrow is my weigh in. Wish me luck! I'm definitely joining the Spring challenge, just looking for the thread to post it on. Whoo hooo!

Does anyone know how I can add the Spring challenge graphic to my signature?

Blurry-eyed good morning.

Ruth - A quilt for yourself sounds perfect. What colors are you using? Hope your basement recovers soon.

Cat - What a wonderful surprise Enjoy!

Cyndi - Massage...mmm.

Mmc - I didn't either. I slept poorly and popped up thinking I had overslept b an hour... but I didn't. So I am dragging now. Good luck.

I had the craziest dreams last night! But that is par for the course for me. Today I am meeting a girlfriend for lunch at a place with great salads. DH and I spent hours last night getting my new computer running and saving stuff on the old one. More of that today. DS going in to school early again. He will be very tired this week. Here's hoping the wool clears out of my head soon.

Good morning!

Ruth, my mom has made so many quilts, wall hangings and table runners for the rest of us but has made very few things for herself. She always says, The next one... I'm glad you're going to make yourself a quilt, I hope you'll fill us in on the details.

Cat - what a WONDERFUL surprise! I know I don't need to tell you to have a great day!

Hi Cyndi, "secret Indian chili recipe" eh? LOL Enjoy your massage and I'll that you won't have leftovers for supper.

Hi Mmc - I'm so glad you're going to enter the challenge. I really had fun with the winter one. I'll PM you about adding the graphic to your sig.

*Passes a refreshing glass of ice water to clear Karen's wooly head and blurry eyes* Good morning! Enjoy your lunch at the salad place!

Good morning to those coming in later. I'm feeling much better today, my wrist is still quite sore but the rest of the aches and pains are quite manageable today. I think moving around so much at school probably helped with that. Have a great Thursday, I'll try to check in from school later on to see what the rest of you are up to.

Morning all!

I had a miserable night's sleep and then didn't want to get up this morning. I'm up, though.

Ruth, it's wonderful to see you starting us up. I"m eager to hear all about your quilt, too! I hope your basement is just about all cleaned and dried today.

Cat, it's great to see you here this morning, too! That was a great surprise for you, and I know how happy and excited you are! I'm sure you and your daughter will have a wonderful visit.

Cyndi, I like curry but that smell would make me sick. Heat a little vinegar to absorb the odor or spray a little Febreeze around. I be curious to know if anyone eats her special Indian Chili. What was your big meeting about the other day, or did I miss that news?

Mmc, good luck on your weigh-in tomorrow! I joined the Spring Challenge this time, too, and am excited for it to get started. I'm determined to get myself in better shape by summer.

I've already cleaned the bathroom and have a load of whites in the wash. I want to clean the kitchen and get the floor mopped, too, before heading off to Cindy's this afternoon. Somewhere in there this morning, I vow to get in my wii workout. Oh, and I have to run over to the store for milk.
It will be my late day today, but then I have my long weekend to look forward to.

Heidi - Glad you are feeling better. I need directions on adding the graphic too, please. Thanks for the glass - it is working already

Cottage - Funny - when I have a miserable night I can't wait to get up! Then I will spend all day waiting for bedtime! You are very industrious today.

Good Morning

Thanks for starting us up, Ruth. I'm glad to hear you're getting back into your routine and that you're starting a quilt for yourself. *hugs* to the pups!

Jenn, I'm thinking of you this AM

Cat, how exciting!!!!!!!!!!!! I love suprises that really ARE! Have loads of fun! I know you'll enjoy every moment between now and Tuesday.

Cyndi, I hope you have a bumpless day between now and massage. My nose thinks the chili might be interesting.

Mmc, sorry on the sleep...I'm used to it. Have a great day and to you today.

Karen, I hope you find a burst of energy this AM. Have a nice lunch and a great day.

Heidi, I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. I think keeping moving definitely helps.

Linda, you're #3 on the bad sleep list; Saturday is Full Moon, I wonder what's up. I'm hopping on your morning get it done bus as soon as I say hi to everyone. Oh, yes, tomorrow IS Friday. Have a good one.

Me, now that I leave at 630AM on MW I feel like I have a day off. I don't need to be at the pool till 9, so I'm hoping for some serious reorganization-which includes refrigerator. I'm going on a day trip tomorrow with a GF so now is my chance. We have super wet snow this AM so it will be lots of wet paws and probably mud later.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning folks. I am having a hard time getting my head out of vacation mode, gotta work on that today. But Phase I continues to go well, and I didn't get the day 3 headache I usually get, woo-hoo. Just the intense cravings, but I soothed them with peanut butter. I even faced pastry, strawberries, and homemade whipped cream at the Parks & Rec Board meeting last night and didn't touch. I also made muffins for the kids breakfast, because groceries are getting low, and I have hidden the leftovers from myself. I don't have to go anywhere today, so here's hoping I can find my motivation and get lots of things done.

Cat, I'm so happy for you that you get to spend time with DD. I know you've missed her lots!
jenn, good luck with your doctor's appt today. I'm so sorry you are having those tummy troubles again. It's not fair when you are working so hard to eat healthy.
What fun, Debbie, a day trip with a girlfriend sounds like a great idea.
Good morning Tammie.
Cyndi, my house smells funny too. But it's because I melted a plastic spatula in my oven. I thought I got it all out, but it still stinks.
Mmc and Waisting, I didn't sleep well either! I woke at 1AM from the craziest dream (I was being murdered, too much Criminal Minds lately), and then at 3:30 (don't remember that dream).
Have a great day Heidi, glad you are feeling better.
Linda, good luck getting through your long day. Any fun plans for the long weekend?

I am out of milk, so ran out for a coffee. It sure does look, feel, and smell like snow out there, better check if we are supposed to get anything.

My weekend is shaping up to be cleaning, running errands, and getting ready to be away next week. Hopefully some sleeping in too!

Ruth, I am glad that basement is getting cleaned up! What kind of quilt are you making for your bed? I love quilting and I wish I had more spare time to do it.

Cat, I'm so excited to hear that your daughter came into town! What fun! Have a great time together!

Cyndi, I'm sorry your house smells funny. I often will almost use curry instead of cumin. I always double check.

Mmckellen, yay for finding a spring challenge idea! Good luck for your weigh in!

Karen, I hope you find a really yummy salad for lunch today! I had a bizarre dream, too. A friend came over with a quilt for me as Secret Santa present and I didn't really like it but I pretended to because I could tell she'd put a lot of work into it. Odd. I don't even know if this friend sews!

Heidi, I'm glad you're feeling better! Hope it just continues to get better and better!

Linda, it sounds like you'll need ten hours this morning to get all of your things done! I hope you can fit it all in!

Debbie, I need to clean out my fridge, too. There are leftovers in there from Christmas and that's just ridiculous. Someone should slap my wrist.

Tammie, I like your ticker! Congrats!

Jenn, good luck at the doctor!

Schmoodle, good job staying on plan! That was some intense temptation you faced!

I have had the busiest day ever I think! I woke up at 5:00 so I could do my yoga before the kids got up and then I made them waffles and cut up some grapefruit for their breakfasts. Kadyn had a field trip at school today so I had to get the girls to Kindergarten early, which worked out because my friend's aerobics classes were today so I would've had to drop them off earlier than normal anyhow. Kadyn went to see Peter and the Wolf. There were twelve four and five year olds and two teachers who took the train into the city to see the show! What an adventure!!! After I dropped off the girls (Connor was already at school), I shoveled the sidewalk from the snow that fell last night and then went to aerobics class. We did Zumba first and it was SUCH fun! Then we did a power sculpt class and then a pilates class. I had to leave before the capiora class because I needed to get back home. I had to get a shower before my parent-teacher conference with Connor's teacher. That went well (the shower and the conference). He got reprimanded for not paying attention and for rushing through his work but got praised for his excellent reading skills, which always makes me proud because German is not his first language. She also said that he's excelling in math and science. No surprises there. We got the girls on the way home from the conference and I made lunch (mock cornbread and some chili) and then Connor had his violin lesson. We're about to head out the door to run some errands before Connor's martial arts this afternoon. I have to go to the bank to cash some checks so I can pay for the girls' dance class, which has sign-ups today and then I have to stop at the chapel and do some paperwork for my job. Whew! I think I will sleep well tonight!!!

Tomorrow is Tom's promotion ceremony and I am so excited! He made Master Sergeant this year, which is a huge deal. There were very few selected in his career field and it's a big pay jump.

Better get going. I'll be back on tonight, if I don't fall asleep as soon as I walk in the door!

Karen (and anyone else ) Here are directions for adding the graphic to your signature. LINK

I've got several kiddos home sick today and 3 or 4 more that are here but coughing their little heads off. I'm revamping my plans - I think we'll be going with a low key "review day" today. Just as well for me too, since pulling out old games and centers is easier on my bum wrist than demonstrating/teaching the new ones today. lol

Kara - congratulations to Connor on his great school report. How great that he's doing so well in German school.
My kids went to German kindergarten but moved them to DODDS for first grade. And congrats to Tom on his promotion, too.

Debbie - Good morning. Looks like your weather forecast idea for me may hold true... that snow may show up here tomorrow!

Tammie - Your ticker looks great! I think I have you beat in the "my life seems so dull" award. I was a cub leader for 5 years and just watched on of my (no longer so) little guys get his eagle last weekend. Time flies.

Jenn - I'm sending good vibes

Schmoodle - Good for you! Making muffins would sorely tempt me. Yikes - your dream was worse than mine.

Kara - Wow! I am worn out just thinking about your day I didn't realize your son was in a German school - good for him! To answer yesterday's question... DH knows we are going somewhere (since he would see the airline credit card charge) but not when or where. He has no job so I didn't have to deal with that. When it gets closer I will tell him enough so that he can pack the right stuff. But the big surprise will be having his old friends there with us.

Off to yoga soon.
