I had my yearly physical this morning. She actually was very nice, but very real. In one year, I've gained 21 pounds. My triglycerides, which were already high last year at 190, went to 250. Carbs! Bad Carbs! My gallbladder is inflamed and I will have an ultrasound next week. Let's not even talk about the heartburn.
My life has changed so much this year. I went from being an active SAHM, to a sit-on-my-butt-for-8-hours-a-day secretary. I quit Jazzercise. I have to get real!
With your help, I've been successful on the Beach before. I have to do it again.
Yikes, I've never been to the doctor...as an adult. Let me clarify...I haven't had a check-up for the "gettin' older" stuff. Only go to the gyno every year. But, I really need to! I think a reality check will be good for me.
Glad you're back on the beach, we all need as much support as we can get!
Chelby - I've been thinking about you and missing you around here. Just the other night I was reading Prevention and there was a jazzercize DVD on their recommended list. Made me start wondering how things were going for you.
The good news is the info is from a test and not a health problem. The better news is that you know exactly what to do and you know you can do it.
So sorry that you had bad news. I had a similar situation just about a month ago where I went to the doctor for my annual checkup and I weighed more than I have weighed in my entire life ... even when I was pregnant! You can do it - and although it sounds horrible, you can use it as your motivation. Welcome back1
I feel loved! I am motivated. It is definitely a reality check. I ate real well today, considering I haven't had any planning time. A trip to the store is in my near future.
BTW... I worked on the elliptical machine for 30 minutes! Yay ME!
You can feel the love here. You can do it! Just do one day at a time...that is worked so well for me on this plan. Take a deep breath and most important DO NOT BEAT YOURSELF UP.
