Yes,I'm still here getting or trying to get my exercise act together. Have the food part in top shape but this exercise stuff still is rotten. Have to get a more positive attitude like my eating to get with it.My food is posted on the food thread and I do post on the Summer Challenge. Did 10 minutes on the Gazelle with warm up and cool down 2-3 minutes. This is really a hit and miss and being honest about it. So when it comes tog I will let you all know, just like I let you know if I'm not in tune with anything I do. So exercisers keep up the good work and I will catch up.
I'm here. I've been meandering along, with no real aims or goals. The scale crept back up to 160 and got stuck but then, I wasn't working very hard at anything, not diet, not exercise. I was still walking but let the weight training fall by the way after an illness. I started weights again last Friday and saw an immediate dip in the scale of 1 pound so yeah for that. Once again, I refuse to change my ticker because I WILL get that weight off and be at 157 shortly. Ya know, if I just didn't keep undoing all my efforts, I'd probably be at goal by now!!!
Well,I keep coming back here and I have nothing new to tell you!I am meeting my Red Hat Sisters in town today so at least after lunch we will be walking around going shopping. Have a great day eveyone! I'm not giving up period.!!!I may have the worse exercise program(hit & miss) but I'm going to hang in.
sorry to report that the body is NOT healed as yet and exercise has been called off again.
Good luck to all of you and take care.
Sherry~ Sorry we missed each other. Stay well.
god it's hot, no outside exercise at all! But I have been faithfully going to the gym. No good classes though so I've just been training for my races. only problem with that is I only run a couple miles at a time so my workouts are fairly short, to make it longer I have been doing my 50-50-50-50 abs
I'm still around. I was so bummed when everyone disappeared from this thread. I wonder if there is a way to combine the food, challenge and exercise threads together. I know it must be a lot of posting to be involved in all three. Any ideas?
I've been keeping up with my couch to 5k training program, ab workouts, light weights and I'm just getting into Turbo Jam. I had company and got a little off track for five days but I am back at it full force now.
Good idea ShrinkingMama - I enjoy all the threads but posting to them each takes awhile. I havn't been posting here because i havn't been exercising - shame on me! I've been sick though and havn't been up to it.
I don't have a great idea but......The challenge thread was sorta my thread to begin with and it does seem that it's separated us all. I suppose we could just post in the food thread as only a few of us are in the challenge anyway, so long as noone minds us posting our challenge results along with the food. That would at least narrow it to just 2 threads in stead of 3. Any opposed? If that works I'll put a little post at the end of the challenge that we've moved and we can regroup on the food thread.
I agree that consolidating is a good idea. For me the challenge, the food and exercise all go together anyway. And challenge or not, exercise and food shuld go together for everyone. Plus if you are skipping one of the components, it's easier to overlook it if you don't post in the section.
I know I do great with exercise but seems as if my foods need some help at times so I know I need to be held accountable for that. Anyway blah blah blah I still agree that one common thread will be easier to handle.
Consolidating or not.. I think daily support is necessary; sometimes you are at a point in the journey where you really need it.. sometimes it's just nice to know that it is there in case. ... As far as exercise goes.. I am still in my infancy in this journey and need daily contact. If consolidating with a food thread in Sonoma is what happens.. I'll still pop in now and again.. as long as the invitation is open.
Shrinking Mama.. you are in week 4 of the couch to 5k program.. how many weeks is it?
Wish4fit - I love your challenge idea and have been doing it on my own (except for my little five day lapse with company) as a way to push my exercise routine. I guess I kind of see the challenge and exercise going together but will be happy with whatever brings us back together.
Jayde - I agree, I need to have that daily contact as I make exercise a bigger part of my life. I certainly hope you will stick around. I enjoy your input. I am in the 6th week of the Cool Running Couch to 5k Running Plan. There are nine weeks in total and it is very doable. There is a thread called "Advice on becoming a runner" under the exercise section where there are quite a few new runners posting. Most are following this program and it has been very helpful to me.
I am off to do Turbo Jam Learn and Burn and the Twenty minute workout.
well the HEAT certainly is on, took a gym class today at noon, when it was about 95+ outside and I'll be darned if they didn't take us outside to run. It was HOT, HOT, HOT so hopefully I sweated off a couple pounds, lol.
Keep it up girls...I'm gonna go check out that running thread. I've been running for less than a year now and there's so much I don't know
Hello ladies - I guess it's settled then. We should consolidate. I posted on the challenge thread that we are to now post on the food thread so we can be more together. As for the excercise thread...don't know if we should combine them all or not. It's possible the board could get really busy and we would have a hard time keeping up with the posts if there was just one thread. On the other hand, if we Sonoma-goers are true to plan we should be eating right and excercising so maybe one thread is good....
Oh well, not anything to stress about. There is still a nice group of us here and we can mingle between the 2 threads for now and see how that goes.
I walked for an hour very early this moring, it was just gorgeous outside. I actually had some special motivation because one of my favorite stores had 48 hour sale this weekend and doors opened at 5 AM. The sun comes up so early here that it was just beautiful out so I walked to the sale, shopped for a few hours, and then walked back with my loads of bags. Had I not stopped at the little french bakery for a warm croissant on my way home things would have been much better...Oops! It was my first day on Wave 2 and man did I blow it first thing out! Well, there's still lunch and dinner to be succesful with.
Still need to get on that scale, but for the record, I had to try on 12's instead of 14's (my normal size) at the sale. COOL !
