Hiya ladies,

Marti - I know I need a whole-body workout. I used to do a tape that was like gym class in school, and doing it enough weeks would tighten my whole bod. Wonder where that is......

Cristina - glad you've had a nice, slow day. We all need those once in awhile.

Ellen - my Mary and her family are buying our old house from us, and we intended to fix up the old homestead, only to find out it is beyond repair unless we want to put $200,000 or more in it. So that's why we were more or less forced in to a new house. Not that I'm complaining, lol. It will be ready for painting, etc, anyday now. I'm very excited about it! My living room will be done in navy, maroon, light blue and cream. I'm carrying the light blue and a lighter berry color to the kitchen with the neatest border. It has apples, an old fashioned glass measuring cup, a recipe sticking in the tines of a fork, etc. in it.

Susan - pineapple upside down cake - food porn!! YUM!! My sister Maggie makes the best you ever tasted. I haven't had any in years. Hey, the shortened hours sound great! Would you have to take a pay cut? Hope not.

Ginny - before I forget, have you read the series of books called Blue Dahlia, Red Rose (?) and Black Something? Angie - help me out here!! I read them, then got some of the gals here to read them. I forget the exact titles, and author, too. I passed them on to a friend awhile back. Anyway, there're about growers like you, and you'd LOVE them, I think.

Jules - I had no clue there were so many songs with my name in them, lol. My oldest sister Norma, who passed away, used to call me Janie. Now Neal is the only one who does. I'm kind of old for it, but it's sweet coming from him.

Speaking of Neal, he's off at church, practicing his guitar, and I'm waiting for Gilmore Girls to come on. There are 2 episodes tonight, and I haven't seen the 2nd one. I just had some fresh tomatoes with Light Done Right ranch salad dressing as a snack. Love tomatoes!

Have a good evening, ladies.

Hey all, just got back from errands. Did my family Dr. appointment first, he thought I was doing great, got him to write me a note saying I can go back to work, dropped that off at work. *sigh so in exactly 16 days I am back at work.
Did my unemployment thing, so eventually I will get some money from when I was off, 60% of my wages.
Chiropractor visit, and feeling good.
I was starving and did the dumb thing of stopping at burger king, got a jr. whopper, well I ate half and thought it tasted funny, so for about an hour after that I felt ill. Im ok, now, but what a big turn off.
well off to make dinner...

I am going home now!!! I had the most wonderful salad from TraderJoes...Italian with parmesan vinaigrette dressing - yum.
No, Jane. The time would come from my sick hours, I have 200 of those and I told Supervisor that maybe just this week and next week and I will be "well" *snicker* to go back to 40 hour weeks. So, no....I wouldn't lose pay. Final Answer.

Jules - we saw the cutest Sunshine (that was his name)kitty at the pound. He sucked on his arm because he was weaned too early from his mother and he was nervous.

k- better get. I am going to go to Goodwill and take back my DVD that I bought because the back doesn't have the same cords that I do and I can't make it work though I have tried, just doesn't so no sense in keeping it if it doesn't work. At least that is what I think but what the heck do I know.......

Jane:
I just started doing a great workout video that I bought at a WW meeting. It has three levels (I do the hardest because I get 5 points for it!!), and each 30-minute workout uses hand weights, so you get a really good full-body workout. I like it a lot!

Good morning ladies,

OK, yes Jane I have read Nora Roberts trilogy. And yes I like her books. They were good, however, I found many discrepancies concerning growing flowers in the books.

And JULES excuse me but I do not play with the flowers all day... believe me it is a lot of work, we do things in mass quantities and try it for a while and see just how much *FUN* it is.

Well, I came back from babysitting last night and since it wasn't to late I rode my bike a little over 6 miles.

Today is very downcast, looks like it may rain. As long as it don't snow. It is still very cold out.

Not much to say this morning. Have to get ready for work. Will check in later.

Jane--my Dad is a very negative person that makes very cutting remarks--all with a big smile on his face but my fave memories of him are singing "the Monster Mash", "House of the Rising Sun" & to me "Julie, Julie do ya love me"

Angie--I love my chiro!!

Susan--my MIL had a big Himalayan (SP?) named Satin Blue that did the same thing. DS son's cat is funny when you first walk through the door of his apartment his cat runs to see if it's him and when you are not he turns his nose and walks away. Now his girlfriend Alicia is included in the cat's run for the door. The cat has good taste cause we all love her too--so glad my DS finally came to his senses and realized what a great person she is.

Ginny--had a very rough stressful day at the office--area was downsized and huge new project was given to me--part of it feels alot like debt collecting (which is definitely not part of my job description) and this week everyone is calling and yelling and trying to get me to send product before I have the payments that were due in December because the material is dated for April-May-June quarter. Working with plants & in the dirt sounds so stress relieving at this time of the quarter. Meant no offense. I have had many "physical" jobs in my lifetime so I was not trying to infer that your job in not hard work. I went to work sanding kitchen cabinents at minimum wage so that I would have medical insurance for my son when he was six weeks old--I can't complain though the job did help me to drop the pregnancy pounds!!

Good morning all,
Went to bed early and here I am up early. To spooky fog.

Jules, Ive worked in a company that has had layoffs, and then forced to do the extra work. That is very stressful, being over worked and with an axe over the head, worried you would be next.

Ginny, 16 greenhouses is huge! Like I said when I did retail and we sold bedding plants and such we did put up a greehouse. It wasn't as large as normal greenhouses but I helped set up the merchandise, my muscles were screaming after that. Didn't you ride earlier in the morning too?

Jane, food porn? Is that we call bad foods...lol So how did your show go? I watched Gilmore Girls once and it was hilarous. Going to have to watch it again. Another show Im really getting into is Reba,,,the character Barbara Jean cracks me up. Its just cheesy fun...

My big plans for today is grocery shop, and then going to another school to get all their costumes from when they did Aladdin. Going to try and make it to go watch Tan's rehearsal.

Well Im off,,,later

Good Morning!!! I am back!!

I got up early, like 5:10 am and just got ready for work. I let Rach stay at home. I am just going to let her go to alternative school. It was awesome just to come to work early.
I stopped at Starbucks and picked up a yummy sourdough turkey sandwish with cucumber slices. I ate it on the way to work and sipped my venti. I pretended not to have any children and thoughts of spending money on myself. It was awesome.

We decided on naming Jack -Mr Jingles (because he jingles with all his tags on and Rach came up with it) I kind of wanted Salem but Rach said no.....blah - blah.

We went to Goodwill last night and I couldn't find anything so we went to Freddies (a 1 stop shop store. You basically can find alll sorts of things and you don't have to spend your time shopping around - thus one shop- get it?? blah - blah. )
anyway, I bought a white short sleeve blouse for 14.00 - down from 20 something- wearing it with my one pair of Gloris Vanderbilt capris that fit.So, that is what I am wearing today. Bursting out of all my clothes. Not a pretty site!

k- I better scoot.......no, I don't have worm....yuk.....I swear that cat poops all the time! tata

Hello ladies...

Busy day of posting yesterday!

Thought I would wake up early and go to Wally World before all the kiddies get up. Seems like when the kids are out of school they always end up at Wal-Mart with the mommies and they get crazy sometimes. Anyway, got in and out and home by 9:15-I think that's a first for me. Actually, no it's not. When I took the kids to school I always did my errands early. Don't really have a need to get up that early anymore though.

SUSAN...mmmmmm...pineapple upside down cake and cookies! Yummy to my tummy! I did good when I bought groceries this morning. I went before I ate and everything was looking good to me. But I didn't buy any junk and am proud for not doing so. (((((HUGS))))) to you and Rachel. What the heck was that person (visitor) thinking? I know she was probably checking to make sure Rach was at school but...hope she wasn't embarrassed or anything. But then she did call you to come home so I know it made her feel bad, poor thing. Glad you told the visitor what's up. Don't think I could deal with surprise visits either.

Hiya MS ELLEN...don't ever feel bad for posting what's going on in your life, whether it's good or bad. Doesn't matter what is going on in my life that it should effect what you write/type here about you and your life. That't life and I can handle it, or try to anyway! And THANK YOU! That means a lot to me. You are definitely going to have to share pix of what you are doing to your house! I love all the colors you have chosen-it sounds so pretty. And I know it is because I saw the pictures before and it was nice. Well, about the new house...I am trying not to get too excited for fear of losing it, easier said than done though. We are planning some things, such as paint colors. And I have been trying to figure out what to do for window coverings. The boys rooms are easy, as ar the baths. It's the living room, dining area and kitchen I'm not sure about. We want to do the same green we did here, (green bough) in the living room and dining area. But then it gets tricky. The kitchen is curver, which I love and the breakfast nook is open to the living room. Well, I want yellow in the kitchen, it's actually a gold color. But I am afraid it will clash with the living room/dining area. And where to start with one color and end with it. The kitchen nook is open to the living room but is divided by the basement stairs. We are doing sage in the master bath though. I wanted it in the master bedroom but it is just off the living room and if the door is always open I am afraid it will just look horrible. I don't want it to seem like an extension of the living room. So, we are going to do a soft, creamy beige in there. Ah, decisions, decisions. Anyway...the house is a yellow ranch style with almost 1,500 sq. ft. on the main floor. Has a triple garage which V loves! Has 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, kitchen w/nook (so no more eating at the counter), living room/dining area combo. Corner fireplace in the lr with a big picture window also that looks out the big backyard. The lot is 66x217 and backs up to horse pasture. The front yard has been sodded so we will seed the back and have to build a fence. And of course plant some trees and shrubs. We want to do an Asian type garden complete with pond, Buddha and a pagoda across the whole back length of the fence...have something pretty to look at when I am on the deck, in the backyard or just looking out the living room window. Another reason i don't know what kind of window coverings to go with because I don't want the view spoiled or closed. Let's see...Has tile floors in the kitchen, entry, laundry room and both baths. I will actually have a laundry room instead of a laundry closet like here. The master bath has a corner jacuzzi tub-to die for! Has a full basement and DD wants the bedroom down there, it's almost the size of the master. It is framed in and they already put one wall separating the bedroom from the family room. it is plumbed for a bathroom too. There will be a bedroom, bathroom, family room, office and a huge walk-in closet for storage. It is curved like the kitchen so the way it is, there could be another bedroom but we plan on using it for an exercise room and the very back of it will be storage. You know for my christmas decorations and stuff like that. It's in a subdivision but on the outskirts of town, about 3 miles from where we are now, same town. Now all we need to do is get this house sold so we can get moving! keep your fingers crossed! Will post some pics of it later. V took some of that house and another so we could decide which one wanted. i really wanted the green one across the street but the neighbors have three big dogs that barked everytime we went out back to look. Thought it would be a problem with Ernie because he would be sniffing and barking right back at them. IT would never stop!

ANGIE...how much or what rooms are you painting Sage? I guess I missed that somewhere. Green is my new color-I LOVE GREEN! I could use a visit to the chiro. One visit does me good but the chiro always wants me to go three days a week. I don't really feel that I need three days so haven't been in ages.

GINNY...it was me talking about the lint tray and you are right. That's exactly why the dryer has the feature that turns itself off when it gets hot. I just never dreamed it was because of fabric softener build up-never heard of such a thing and never, ever had to wash a lint tray with soapy water before. But good to know what it is and what to do to prevent it in the future. WOW, 16 green houses?! That's enough to keep a person busy to say the least!

JANE...I have a dear friend who is in her 60's and goes by Janie and has for most of her life. I found out her real name is Emily Jane when people would come in the hospital gift shop to purchase something for their new born baby. We would start talking about names...she would ask them if they had a name picked out and once suggested the name Emily. So we started talking and that's when she told me her name. I don't think you are too old to be called Janie.

JULES...funny because yesterday DD and I were just talking about The House of The Rising Sun-love that song! She was remembering her dad and two songs he used to play and sing...one being Little Red Riding Hood and The Most Beautiful Girl by Charlie Rich (he used to sing that to me). We always had a great time and loved to hear him play his guitar and sing. But she remembers those two songs the most. Anyway, I told her that he tried to play the House of The Rising Sun for me because in high school I had a friend whose dad played and sang that soooo good! He sounded just like the Animals but he was just one! Anyway, he also loved playing Gloria by the Rolling Stones, Wipe out and anything from the Eagles. Those were some of the songs he played when he was in a band. Ah, those were the days...so many good memories. Anyway, My sister also loved that song...Julie, Julie, Julie do ya love me, Julie, Julie, Julie do ya care...her name is Julie Ann. Anyway...sorry you had a rough, stressful day at work.

NANCY...does this video have a name? And is it one you can only get at WW? I am always looking for a new work-out video. I don't buy many but have some of the WATP (walk away the pounds) ones and my all time favorite is Richard Simmons dancing to the oldies! I seemed to have lost that one somewhere though. IT's funny because the kids will take them and use them in their room. I found my Denise Austin's Pilates in Josh's room when we painted after he left.

MINDEE...hope all is well with you and yours. How are the kiddoes doing? Hope they are feeling better. Any word yet on the house?

Hi to everyone else

Again, a slow day for me so I will be spending some time on the ole 'puter. Not sure what happened that I have nothing to do this week, other than clean that is. Going to do one of my exercise videos and some weights today and always, have cleaning to do. I finally went and bought me something for my first 10 pound goal. It's a bracelet. Here's a link to it if anyone wants to take a gander. http://www.madisyntaylor.com/index_215.html I love the meaning of it. I wanted the pink one because I love the color but went with the blue for it's meaning. Anyway, I think I have gone on enough. This is a VERY long post!

Have a very Happy Hump Day ladies!

Talking

Hiya SUSAN... hey, love Mr. Jingles...think it is cute! Salem is cute too. One day I am going to get another dog and it's name will be either Ginger or Cocoa. I have had those names picked for years. While living in CA I have wanted a little dog, OMG, can't remember what those little rat dogs are....anyway, those are the names I had picked out. But then we started looking for one and the prices were anywhere from $300 up to $1000! I was wanting a pet, not a stinking show dog. Needless to say, I never got one. But then those names were for a girl. Thinking maybe Sam or Max if I get a boy. I am so jealous...I can't believe you guys have capri wearing weather. Went to wally world this morning and almost froze my booty off! If only it were that easy. It is sooo cold, brrrrr! And it was snowing a little. Tired of this gloomy weather. Send some of that weather you guys are having here, please. Maybe Rachel will be better off at the alternative school...does she want to go? I can only imagine what is going on with her. You know kids have their own troubles and sometimes they can't express it like they want to, or at all so they hold it in. Just want to give her and you bunches of ((((HUGS)))). Okay, gone on long enough.

Have a good day missy, you and the girls! That's an order!

Hello ladies,

Angie - well, look at it this way, you have 15 more days to have fun. Thanks for the info on the trilogy. I knew you'd know what I was talking about. I too love the Barbara Jean character on Reba - she cracks me up!! Food porn is reading about foods that make you salivate and/or want to cheat on your diet. Bad, bad, bad. Tee hee.

Susan - well, yay for getting paid for sick hours, if you do end up taking them. How was the turkey and cucumber sandwich? It sounds devine.

Nancy - I'm all for whatever gets us more WW points, lol.

Ginny - you're doing great with the bike riding!

Jules - both of my DHs played House of the Rising Sun for me. Neal still does, and unlike the 1st DH, Neal really has talent. Btw, aren't you going to Portland in June for the get-together?

Cristina - aww, I was all set to see your bracelet and the page said "couldn't be found". So tell us all about it, ok? I love buying/getting/reading about bling-bling.

Hello to all others.

I'm doing well with the food. Have I mentioned this salad dressing before? It's Paul Newman's Lighten Up honey mustard and it's wonderful on chicken or turkey sandwichs. Susan's sandwich reminded me of it. Anyway, I like to find new products to keep things interesting.

Gotta run!

Jane--I am undecided on the Portland trip since DH's stepfather is in the final stages of pancreatic cancer so we are sticking close to home as he is 8 hours away from us. The kids want to go down this summer when DD gets out of school. My DH plays organ, dulcimer, autoharp & harp. My favorite song that he plays me since we first met was "lighter shade of pale". I love that song.......

Angie--I love the Barbara jean character on Reba--she makes me giggle too.

Susan--I like Mr Jingles! So glad Rach is home with you--it gets better after the teenage angst is gone!

Cristina--there is actually a guy named Dave (happily married) here at work that sings that old Bobby Sherman song to me--my husband (who works here too) always jokes that he is going to go start singing to Ellen (Dave's wife) if he doesn't stop it. I also have the record.....

Angie---though I am stressed it is much less stressful since the thorn in my side was transferred to a different dept--I though I was going to have a nervous breakdown when she was still here. She was doing the bad things and I was told I'd have to be nicer and got to do her work while she goofed off!!

So many posters since I last came in!!

As I sit here, I stare at the little pedometer I've been wearing to work.............I left it home last night!! I went to check my steps and I didn't have it on!! Can you believe it??? Today...it will be w/me. Another gal wore hers yesterday and wanted to compare steps and since she doesn't smoke, she knew I would have more steps...of coarse, didn't have mine on! But she walked 2.5 miles. Not too shabby.

Jane--I love tomatoes too. The ones that we've been picking lately just haven't been the greatest though. I keep telling James that it's just that time of year. We love to add it to this pasta salad, and they're always mushy. (Maybe If I'M the one to go pick the tomatoes out, they'd be ok!!)

Angie--With only 16days left, I'm sure you'll make the most out of those days!! You're always so busy when you are working, I can never keep up. Have fun watching Tanners rehearsal.

Susan--I love Trader Joes!! I love getting their sandwhiches for lunch. They always have good cheeses too! Hmmm....sounds like I need to make a trip to Trader Joes this weekend!!

Jules--Sorry you had such a stressful day at work. We had a department meeting last night and was shocked to hear that our Manager will be moving on to another project and that they'll be posting his position. Crazy! Lots of changes going to happen. Just wish my hours would hurry and change before it gets too hectic!!

Ginny--Fantastic on the 6miles!! If we didn't have so much rain all the time here, I would hurry up on getting my bike fixed. I'm just not into riding my bike in the rain and having the splash streak up my behind! (and that's with a fender on!!)

Cristina--The bracelet is so pretty!! What a great 10lbs goal!! Congratulations by the way!! I need to have a 10lbs goal......just have no idea what I would want. (too many things to choose from) I too got the "page not found" message but it gave me the option to click on a link and it popped up. (try that Jane)

Nancy--I had no idea that WW had exercise videos too!

Better take my dogs out...then browse a bit before I clean up.....
