Angry Fed up of being fat and hungry

Hi everyone

Does anyone else ever feel constantly hungry? Like even a few minutes after eating a big meal you have a kind of gnawing (sp) craving sensation for more?

Is this just me or do all of us who are trying to lose weight feel this way?

I have tried every diet going. My faves have been SW and WW but even using all my syns/points (whichever diet i was on at the time) I still felt hungry. I suppose SW is better because there is always something you can eat, fruit or yogurt or whatever, but I find SW a bit complicated. I do understand it but find it hard to eat out and plan ahead.

I'm sorry I am just whining and moaning and complaining but I am at least 4 stone overweight, and I AM FED UP of being fat and out of control.

Does anyone else feel like this or is it just me who is mad?
Ok feel a bit better now after ranting, would love to hear your thoughts about all this.

Hi Artemis
You sound really fed up - yes, I have felt like that a lot myself. I think sometimes we get mixed messages from the brain, and find it hard to recognise real physical hunger. Often for me it's a general feeling of being unsatisfied, and it can be emotional too, or on another level that's hard to pin down. Also, I get into the habit of having a lot of food, and come to expect it. I've just recovered from a tummy bug, and couldn't eat anything for a day or so. I was amazed I managed it, WW has 'trained' me into keeping the fire 'stoked up', ie never skipping meals, eating little and often. Sometimes trying hard to keep consumption down for a couple of days helps, as eventually my digestion/brain realises that I don't actually need to eat as much - just a question of retraining. Hope this helps - keep your spirits up, keep coming back for a moan . I often find just writing things down really helps, like a safety valve.

SW is the best as you can always eat baked potato and beans (at least on a green day) oh and fruit I am seriously thinking about going back to SW. Yes but it is complicated and kind of annoying that is why I left it in the first place.

Aaaahh No that ain't me i'm one of those people that eats for something to do or because I "fancy" something or just because something looks good or because its "time" to eat not because i'm hungry and I rarely experience hunger unless i'm dieting which shows you that I must be eating way too much I don't know what to say to you apart from try SW again at least on that you can stuff yourself to your hearts content with "free" food

Thanks so much for all the support, I was so fed up yesterday.
Well I've decided to go back onto SW after Christmas. I do find it complicated (I understand it all but I find you do have to plan your days on it).
I hate feeling hungry and so on, but I also hate being fat.

Feel much better today, not going to pig out between now and Christmas, just going to keep myself steady and enjoy Christmas itself and then back to it New Year. I bet loads of us here feel like that!

I think the hunger is the worst for the first couple of weeks until you get used to eating less. It's a lot harder in winter though as you're cold and want something to 'comfort' you! Once you start losing though, that in itself is motivation to carry on.

Good luck!

Artemis, the way I got through the initail weight loss and feeling hundry was making sure I cooked and ate plenty of fresh veggies with every meal. I still had my meat and spuds or whatever, but I would plonk different varieties of free veg on the plate, so much so that I would plough through it as I felt so full but I knew if I filled up more, I wouldn't snack later.
I also always have pea pods and raw carrots in the fridge and even that gets a bit boring when you really want something not as good for you, I use a fat free salad dressing to dip them in and then I've convinced myself that it was more tasty than I anticipated and I always end up enjoying it
Also fruit is always handy, I've been eating clementines lately, two for one point on WW Makes you think you're getting a good deal when you get two for one...or is that just me?
