michellelilly52~ Planning has been the key for me. I have started and re-started my weight loss journey many times, but I really think that this is the time!
First thing to do, go through your fridge and cupboards and toss any foods that will tempt you. If your family/roommates have a problem with this, spell it out for them, this is what you need to do to get healthy and they should think about joining you in eating healthier! If it's a big problem, have them put tempting foods somewhere you won't look. Second, have a detailed grocery list and try to shop only once, maybe twice a week (for produce and meat). By only going a couple times a week, and sticking to my list, I've avoided picking up extra food I don't need. Also, make sure you're not hungry when you shop...
When you get the munchies, but you know you're not truly hungry, go for a walk. Think about what you want to do when you're smaller and how much more you want to be thin than have an evil snack. Gum and mints can also help take cravings away, I always have a pack of gum in my car to keep myself from wanting something on the way home.
