Default quick weekly chat oct. 4- oct. 10

soooo I've had some bad luck lately....but thats ok

My diet is a back and fourth thing..exercise is no problem but I cant seem to get complete control of my diet... I've been losing slowly...but not gaining...being a normal weight is a weird place...being the not fat girl is a weird place... It's funny

my car died at the gas station on friday... but being from a place where I know no one it was scary..luckily a really nice man went to target and got jumper cables and jumped my car for me... then I had to buy a new battery...and since I was spending money I bought new clothes and shoes...

Olive Garden now makes me sick... I've tried it twice lately...sick both times.. fattening food is just too rich

I also wrote a paper that my computer ate so I had to rewrite it..funny thing is I still got it done early and I wasn't one of those people who had to skip class this morning to get it done by the noon deadline.

I've also been having problems with migraines..my jaw is also hurting..maybe I started grinding my teeth at night...who knows...I just hope they go away soon

I've been getting up at 5:15ish to work out...its been fabulous and allows for so much time in the evening...which is always dedicated to school work

Its just been hard to be completely good about my eating with so much going on and trying to be social and meet people...and gosh everyone drinks sooo much in law school... I've been drinking too much... I have no tolerance lately and am typically the drunk girl...working on that one...

love you girls

You just moved to a new place with new people! If you weren't having stress-body issues, I'd be worried. That's totally normal! Heck, when my BFF went away to college she lost hair for a good 6 months.. After a while she wasn't as stressed/freaked out/worried all the time.. And it wasn't even that she couldn't handle it, it was just everything happened at once. Moved away, left her friends, family and pets.. Everything changed. Her doc said it was stress related and she started taking yoga and vitamins and things leveled out. I'm SURE you'll be okay. And I'm glad that nice man helped you!!

And I've also noticed that I can't eat rich stuff any more... it's like my body rejects it. Sad and happy, all at the same time...

So I am new to the forum, but have been lurking for the past couple of days...

I am so frustrated! I am 5'2 155 right now. Highest EVER being 168, recent lowest (for my wedding) being 147- I actually looked pretty good at 147! I had no problem in a bikini, but knew there was still room for improvement, but I was very fit and strong.

After doing a destination wedding and being at an all inclusive for 10 days I def. put some of the lbs back on! I also took a huge break from working out (May-the end of August)....I shouldn't be overly surprised that the weight came back on!

I think around 137 would probably be a healthy place for me, but I would be thrilled with 140. I am EXTREMELY slow to lose weight even with diet and hard exercise 4-5x's per week.

Hopefully by joining I can feed off of some of the motivation you lovely ladies have!

I've been sick with a cold the past 5 days or so and wasn't able to work out at all Friday-Sunday. I tried to go to the gym last night and had to leave after 15 minutes of cardio because I thought I was going to pass out (I can usually do 60 minutes no problem) obviously I am not quite over this sickness, but I feel like it is totally setting me back! I have to go to the "female doctor" tomorrow for my annual exam and I am dreading getting weighed there because I always weigh like 2lbs more and it will just make me feel discouraged.....
UUGGHHH!!!

Will I ever win this battle????

Yeah, I can't eat rich stuff anymore, either. Even full-fat dairy products upset my tummy.

Haley, I know exactly what you're going through. I thought when I got my schedule back I'd be able to get my eating back on track, but I've been so stressed that I'm not sleeping, so I'm hungry, and there's a vicious cycle. I'm hoping that when I get more "used to" my routine, things will calm down more.

Balancing law school is a pain in the ***, especially with thirsty thursdays and Bar Reviews and then all the specials on the weekends, and the reading/studying/memos/outlines. Yep. I'm in the same boat. Are you at least having fun though? I hope everyone in your section is awesome, or at least the majority is.

Haven't been around here in awhile. Still running, but now it's cold outside in DC! First it was too hot and humid, and all of a sudden BAM coldfront.

How was Virgin Fest Stella? Yes, I stalk your blog Did you get to see Pavement?!

Hi...I'm new but I totally understand the diet/exercise thing; but in reverse: I have got my eating down (pretty much) but I cannot get the exercise thing: I want to run and I want to do strength training, and since I do work and school, the only time to do it is the mornings, but I hate waking up!!!!! Once I'm up, it's cool, but it's that initial battle that I keep losing.

Fit- if you just get in the habit getting up early is super easy... I get up at 5:15 and its honestly sooooo awesome to get the workout out of the way

Jess- I had my first legit memo due on monday...had my meeting with my teacher today and I got a great job and have very few things to fix... Thursday are my drinking night at bar review... but yeah everything revolves around alcohol

Stella- I did good...I went out to dinner and got soup and salad with no cheese and stuff and no dressing I'm gonna get this under control eventually

I missed the gym today...I was just so tired... I took my gym stuff with me and made it to the gym but had some drama go down and literally walked in went to the locker room ended up crying...grabbed my bag and left and went to the dinner with the girls... I wish sooo badly I could go home for a little bit but its tooo far away... I'll survive

love you ladies

Haley - so proud of you

Jess - Virgin Fest was awesome, but uh, well, I was kind of drunk from 9am - 4pm, then I took a nap during Thievery Corporation and woke up in time for Ludacris. I saw the tail end of Pavement. You think this is cold? This is BEAUTIFUL. Wait until December. Muahahahhaah.

So I feel good. I worked out super long last night, and I just ordered myself a new Devils jersey in time for Saturday's game. I'm forcing a friend to go to a bar and watch the game with me, since CB the former is being a d-bag and ignoring me. Stupid boys. I will find a way to watch hockey!!!

2 NSV's to report

#1 When I started back to work this time last year after my maternity leave, I measured my waist (below the belly button) on one of my belts and made a little mark (i didn't have a measuring tape at the time.) I did a re-measurement using the same belt and I've lost 5.75 inches from that area since last year! Granted some of that was probably still from pregnancy.

#2 I started taking my actual measurments on August 7, i do it approximately every 2 weeks but don't have a set schedule. Yesterday I compared my most recent measurements back to my first ones in Aug and I have lost 2.5 inches from my hips, 1.75 from my thigh (i only measure one) and 1.5 inches from my waist. In total, I have lost 8.5 inches. I measure my neck, 1 upper arm, chest, bust, waist, hip and 1 thigh. I'm pretty proud of that. I wish I had started back in March to get my "before" measurements, but oh well.

Jenn - Congrats on the inches lost! I'd like to fit into single digit jeans soon, which requires a few more inches myself.

Haley - We're already on our second memo but we haven't gotten the first grades back yet. How big is your class? That's crazy that your teacher has already reviewed your memo. GREAT job for not having much to fix though. It was a closed universe right? We're doing stuff on computer crimes for our second memo...yay. Annotated outline crap.

What classes are you taking? Property or Civ Pro first semester?

Stella - Well, it's not too bad yet. I'm still in flip flops or sandals. But the change was overnight. It was fracking humid and hot, then it rained, then it was in the 70s high 60s. Freaking East Coast.

My lunch was 1100 calories and 60 grams of fat...I feel like death...but I ate the best cookie I've ever tasted...oh wells...there is always tomorrow... there prob wont be dinner bc I dont feel very good

Still super jealous you went to Virgin Fest. I really wanted to see Pavement and the line-up was actually decent. It was free right?

Haley - Wait, so what are you taking for Civ if it's not jurisdictional? Like no Personal or Subject Matter? Strange. We have Crim, Torts, Civ, and Contracts. I hate Contracts, which is the only class we have a midterm in. Oh yeah, and legal writing. Best advice is to start outlining or see if you can get your mentor or some 2L to send you their outlines so you can have a base. It's SUPER helpful.

Where are you in the Midwest now? I don't think you ever told me what school you decided on.

Honestly, I wasn't that psyched about it - it was a last minute thing. A lot of my friends got tickets (yes, it was free) so I was just a tag-along. I really enjoyed Jimmy Eat World and Ludacris, but everyone else I'd never heard of/didn't care. I slept through Joan Jett due to high alcohol consumption (oops).

I saw the tail end of Pavement, but they're not my thing. I saw LCD Sound System, which my friend Jess described as "music so that white people can dance whichever crazy way they want to." Seriously, I saw more evidence of drug usage...

But Luda was awesome - he didn't have a set list, just took requests.
