Well I'm taking a PE class at school, and it's just an overall fitness class. We do cardio and strength and flexibility, and we often run the cross country course. I don't run as much as I used to, but I hold my own in that class. But the cross country course is HARD. My class is around noon so it's hot and there is a ton of sharp elevation changes and really tough terrain. It's about 2.5 miles but it kicks my butt, and I run slower than usual because of that. There's a lot of fit kids in the class so they finish way before me. I always feel so fat and out of shape lol.
Well today I was walking with this guy from my class to do stairs and we were just chatting about random stuff. And out of nowhere he said it was really amazing how I run the whole cross country course nonstop at a steady pace without walking, and another person chimed in "yeah I know, she's crazy!" or something. Then I explained to them how I started running when I quit smoking, and his eyes almost popped out of his head and he was like "You used to smoke?! And you can run that like? I NEVER would have thought you were a smoker!" Later the guy was asking me how I did it, and like amazed because I guess he's a former smoker too. I told him I just set my mind to running, and didn't stop till I could do it.
It's nice when people notice my hard work. I just wanted to share.
