Red face Help

So I am new to this site and like everyone else trying to lose weight. I have had many attempts at losing weight but have unfortunately failed at most. The most I have lost was around 15lbs... but gained it back. I have managed to keep off about 10lbs. I am recently engaged and would love to look great on my wedding day. May 7th 2011. The most hindering thing in my weight loss is the fact that my fiance and I love beer! I know how horribly fattening it is but I cant help myself sometimes lol. I would also love to learn some healthy dinner receipies that I can make for me and my fiance. I have a gym membership but have a hard time staying motivated so any motivation advice would be great!!!

Welcome. Since Chicks can be overwhelming at first, I suggest you look for a support group or challenge to join; a small group of friends to help keep you motivated. Find one you like that fits your needs, or inspires you, and just post to join.

Beer, I remember that old friend. During my weightloss journey I drank that 64 calorie beer. It's not the greatest beer, you can definitely tell it only has 64 cals, but it would give me my fix when I needed it. Now i don't drink at all! Good luck! Does your fiance have fitness goals too? I suggest you all support each other if you do, otherwise, just tell him to motivate you or support you when you feel the urge to stray off the diet.

Maybe try cutting down on the beer first? Like if you drink 4 a day (let's just say), try cutting it down in half every few days and then when you are down to one a day finish them up and don't buy more.

I had to do this with chips- I was eating a large bag daily. Then I went down to the small bags and finally stopped buying them. It was hard but I did it.

I dont drink everyday-- but when the weekend rolls around and we have friends over I dread in the morning thinking of how many calories I have consumed... especially since our favorite past time is beer pong lol. Another issue I have is my fiance has no fitness goals, and he always tells me I dont need to lose weight and he loves me the way I am, and isnt very good at helping me stay on my diet goals I appreciate he trys to make me feel better but I am not happy with MYSELF and I wish he would be more supportive over what i am trying to do. Instead of encouraging me to eat pizza and not go t o the gym!
