Default Pity Party ~ All Invited

IT'S A PITY PARTY You are all invited!

OK ~ Here is why I am throwing my own pity party. I tried to lose weight last week, something I don't do often. I did not lose a pound! Not one stinkin' pound...although I didn't gain any...but I ~

#1 Did not eat 1 Klondike bar

#2 Ate only..pretty much anyway...Good things (stuff GLORY would want )

#3 Got a "short" haircut

#4 Doubled flossed my teeth...TWICE a day

#5 Wore only "light" colored clothing

#6 Kept track of my beers...or at least as long as I could still count

#7 Did not snack at all after dinner

#8 Ate breakfast of oatmeal and turkey bacon

#9 Snacked only on carrots and celery

# 10 Leaned to the low side of the digital scale

AND I DID NOT LOSE 1 NOT 1 FREAKIN' POUND!

DO I DESERVE A PITY PARTY? IF I DO WILL YOU COME?

Gary, don't fret. I'm positive it's because of your muscles - they weigh more than fat, right? At least your teeth are healthy

Wow - I'm so impressed that you double-flossed your teeth, that I don't MIND that you didn't lose a pound... now go stand in front of the mirror and blind yourself with your own smile - you won't even SEE the rest of you!

Heather

PS - You are very welcome - that one was free!

Even though Gary you didn't lose any weight. You might have lost some inches. Do your clothes fit any better?

That must be why i didn't lose a single pound this week....I didn't lean on the low side of the digital scale. I am going to have to go home and try that tonight. Then, certainly, i'll see at least one pound gone!!!

Yup! I hear ya loud and clear! I'm in the same boat! Been working out consistently, eating well, doing everything right. Okay, an occasional glass of wine....but that's it. Lost zip this week and zip two weeks in a row in July. The only loss was for one week out of 4. What's up with that!? MAN!!!! I'm not happy but I'm not quitting. I did lose a few inches but my clothes still fit basically the same.

Oh!! I'll have to try leaning on the low side of the scale tonight too. Wish I had thought of that.

A good lean to the back left corner of ours gets ya about a pound and a quarter

You got it GROOVY ~ also by putting the scale in front of a fan you can take advantage of the wind chill factor ~ can mean up to another quarter lost!

OK ~ so this morning I weighed in at 199.5

Going with the flow of not giving up I did a few things to guarantee a loss on that scale in the morning ~

#1 NO CHEESE today

#2 Salad for dinner

#3 Cleaned ears with Q-Tips

#4 Bought Bud LIGHT!

#5 I am now wearing low cut socks instead of over the calf

#6 Threw the comb in my pocket away ~ Like I really ever used it anyway

#7 Walked briskly through the potato chip isle at the store

#8 Fed food off my plate, to my my goldens retrievers under the table ~ Angie just loves it when I do this ....

#9 Lost at least a pound LAUGHING at the replies to my MENOPAUSE THREAD

#10 RAN 5 miles IN MY HEAD!

Poor Gary

Well now, there's your problem! You've got to wear dark clothing. For one thing, everyone at least looks thinner in black (and, in the end, isn't about how we look, not the number on the scale). Plus dark clothing absorbs sunlight, which makes you hot, which makes you sweat out all that water you are surely retaining that is preventing your true weight from registering on the scale.
