Saundra, I'm glad you enjoyed your day. It sounds like you're going to like working there and it'll be good for you to get out of the house a little! Plus new clothes ... gotta love that part of it!
Come on down, everybody. It was 90 degrees here today and very sunny. If you're tired of your rain and cold weather, this is definitely the place to be. And I could sure use the company!
Tomorrow I'll have Judd fill up my water jug before he goes and I should be good until he's back home. At least I don't have to worry about him staying out all night drinking. He has two more weeks of Lent and has done quite well so far. Plus, he feels sorry for me so I'm sure he'll come home as soon as he's done playing.
I guess I'll get back to watching basketball now. I'll be back in the morning. Everyone have a great evening!
by the way. curtis is in much better spirits now. he said he was frustrated earlier with one of his bows. it's hard to explain--just know it wasn't shooting like he wanted. he's a perfectionist. it wasn't tearing holes in the paper like he wanted. (that's called paper tuning and is as boring to do as it is to read about so i'll stop here.)
deal/no deal tonight. curtis picked up the new zorro movie for us to watch either tonight or tomorrow. i'm wanting the grands to come over for a little tomorrow. don't know if that can be arranged or not. the road seems to go one direction most of the time if you know what i mean. i was thinking it would be good to have them come give me some big hugs tomorrow or sunday. i need them.
kathy, you are lucky to have your pets to keep you company. they are very comforting to you. makes me smile.
ASAP!! It is first priority. Now whether or not we can afford it might be an issue...but it will go up very, very soon. Even before the new flooring, which we really really need. But the fence is still first priority.
Those pictures are from the MLS website, so they may disappear when they realize it's not on the market anymore. But I'll take some of my own to share with you all as soon as possible!
Melissa, it looks wonderful. Does the swing set stay?
Sandra, what is a pain ball? Sounds interesting. So glad you can do the stairs and enjoy the cozy room. Your house sounds amaizing.
Kathy, it's great to buy new clothes, but at $8.50 an hour (if I ever start getting paid), you can't buy a heck of a lot. I guess Bernie will just have to put in extra hours to dress me.
Good Morning Chicks! Up at 5:30 on a Saturday is just darned disgusting. I tried to read but the site won't let me go to the last page. I'm trying a post here to see if it will let me see the last page. I sure missed alot already!
Melissa, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! I am SO happy for you and Aaron. I loved that house as soon as I saw it and thought it would be perfect for the three of you. I was drawn to it partially because that blue is one of my favorite colors. Kathy is right, you'll be a very busy couple for the next 6 weeks with all the packing and moving. My advice is start packing now. There's plenty of stuff you don't use every day that you could pack away. You'll probably even throw away stuff too. How exciting! Don't worry about the floor. You can always put some rugs down in the meantime. What a gorgeous yard. I can't wait to see more pictures. Someday, will you or Kathy share how you get the pictures to be so big in the body of the message. All I know how to do is attach a thumbnail.
Kathy, I can't tell you how mad I am at your family, including Judd. Shame on them. I hope that he will make sure you have plenty of stuff and that he isn't gone more than a couple of hours. It's not fair that you are in pain and stranded and they are all just letting you lay there with no company. When Jim has his surgery, he'll probably be praying for me to go golf! I hope you got your mexican food last night and that it was yummy. It's a good thing, for your diet anyway, that you couldn't eat there. But I'm sure the weight is just falling off of you. My goodness, you're lucky that your getting crackers and water. Maybe Judd could freeze some water bottles for you so that they stay cold while he's gone. Do you not like the cooler idea? If you go downstairs then you won't have a bed to rest in, will you?
Sandra, I am SO happy that you are bouncing back so quickly from your surgery! I had never heard of a pain ball either but it sounds like a pretty darned great invention. Don't push yourself too much. Won't it be exciting for you to be pain free?! My heels spurs hurt, alot, but not so much that I'm ready for surgery yet. My right heel is acting up enough that I can't walk on the treadmill. It feels like having a stone bruise on the bottom of my heel. I just went Thursday and bought some great New Balance shoes and and extra pair of $25 inserts that they said will help the spurs. The arch support on these inserts hurt more than the heel. I guess I've been wearing sloppy shoes with no support for too long! I could stand the pain but I'm worried about not being able to exercise. The left one isn't hurting at all. I need to be able to walk dowtown tomorrow and to the ballgame on Tuesday so I'm not pushing it right now. I'll try to exercise, maybe on Thursday and see what happens. So, if Curtis is grumpy about his diet then you guys must be doing well? I haven't cooked in about 4 or 5 days which is a bad sign!
Saundra, you'll be an old pro at WW in no time. I just know that you'll be one of the best and most helpful Receptionists that they have.
Coco, great job on the walks! You should have a loss on Monday for sure.
I should get off of here and go make some shopping lists. If I'm lucky, Jim will go for me. I might as well enjoy having him available while I can.
Thanks Vickie! To post a picture big it has to be from the internet (as far as I can tell). When you find the picture you want online, right-click on properties. In the menu that pops up is a web address. Copy that and paste it in the 3fc prompt box. Does that help at all? If I could just show you, you would get it in no time.
Today I am trying to contain my excitement. DH has lots to do, mainly studying, and he doesn't really want to get started on packing, etc. Of course I do! But I don't really want to destroy the house, just in case something happens and the sale doesn't go through. But I think I'll start today on my clothes. I have a lot of stuff I need to get rid of, and can go ahead and start packing up some of the heavy winter stuff. It's beautiful here today and I have the windows open. So nice.
Well I'm off to finally eat some breakfast. I hope that you all have wonderful days!!!
Vickie, my bedroom is downstairs and the other three are up. Doesn't matter anyway, since I'm not supposed to get out of bed for more than a minute or so to go to the bathroom.
The picture posting is better if you have them hosted somewhere; there are a lot of free hosting sites out there. Copying the properties and posting someone else's picture is usually okay, but generally frowned on. I use PICTURE TRAIL and they create a URL for each picture, which is what I post. I save the pictures to my hard drive, upload them to the host server, and then post from there.
As far as having the family keep me company, I like having someone in the house who checks on me (if they just would) but would hate it if they thought they had to sit and make small talk. When Judd's home, he comes in every 30 minutes or so to see if I need something. He just went to McDonald's and got me some breakfast. That'll probably be all I eat today because I woke up in pain and pain plus food plus medicine usually makes me pretty nauseated.
You'll do fine with Jim's surgery. When Judd had his motorcycle racing accident and had surgery, he was in a cast for four months and then therapy for another 3-4 months. He was still working though and was able to drive himself; I'm not sure what would keep Jim from driving himself to therapy but maybe you just want to go with him. Since I'm the one who does all the cooking and cleaning anyway it didn't really affect my daily schedule. I'm sure things won't be as hectic as you're imagining.
Melissa, I'm so excited for you! How fun! I agree with everyone about starting packing early. When we've moved, it makes it so much easier to have half your stuff packed earlier. Also, you can take this time to flylady your stuff...you know, get rid of what you don't need/use anymore.
Sandra, I'm so glad recuperation is going well for you. That ball thing sounds very nice. I wear orthotics for my extremely flat feet. Even my podiatrist was impressed by their flatness. I have to wear those "clunky granny shoes" all the time. Although, my mom got me some Birkenstock sandals last summer, and they're great! I can actually walk around in them and get the arch support I need.
Vickie, I think you and I should take a road trip to Texas and take care of Kathy. Of course, my girls might be a little bit of a hinderance, but hey, it'll give Zuki someone to play with. I'm sure they'd love him. Seriously though, Kathy, I really hope you get what you need to be comfortable. How's the pain?
I think today I'm going to ask my mom to trim all the girls' hair. I will get middle dd's hair cut short I think. A little over a year ago, she cut it herself, and we had to even it up short everywhere, and it was very cute. She just has the kind of hair that looks perpetually messy when it's long, no matter how often you comb it.
Well, I need to get a move on...I hope we all have a wonderful weekend.
