Default I need a core advisor

I tried core before and gained weight, so now I want to try it again and work with someones advice.

What would really help would be a menu for a week. Where might I be able to see one? Any offers or help is appreciated.

I eat a LOT of the core foods now, lots of grain, lots of fruit and veg and lots of beans. What I dont eat much of is meat but I wouldnt mind.

Thanks

I doubt you have to eat much meat to do Core properly ... just make sure you get some protein in somehow.

You should write down what you were eating before, calculate the points for it, and make sure you weren't eating too too too much more than you should be for your range. Of course on Core it's not necessary to journal, but it will help you decide if your portions are out of control. Also, make sure you're able to tell the difference between being satisfied and stuffed.

Others will jump in too I'm sure, but that's my 2 cents worth!

HI Kally,

Have a look at some of our previous day's menus and you might get a better idea of core eating.

Otherwise as suggested you just might want to post your menus and we could certainly provide advise as required!

I also thnk on the Barbos site (anyone have the link?) or is it www.barbosdietkitchen.com there was a reference/link to sample core menus.

Good luck!

Kally, I agree with Kathy. It's a good idea to journal for a week or two in the beginning just to make sure you have the hang of the comfort zone and only eating until you are satisfied. I also find that it is key to drink at least 8-10 glasses of just water a day. I can't prove it but the weeks where I have had a lot of water plus my other decaf beverages, I have done better.

Check out our daily menu links. It will give you great ideas what we are eating every day. Often we don't put amounts but I say generally it is one serving.

We'll be glad to help all that we can!

I was wondering......I gained 2 lbs. this past week on CORE.....is there such
a thing as eating too much fiber on CORE.....I made Oatmeal bar recipe that I found
on Kippys site and I wonder if I OD on these......any thoughts are greatly
appreciated.........The only other thing I could think of was that I ate too many
garlic stuffed olives....altho I did more water in than usual except for maybe
2 days........thanks

Garlic stuffed olives will be chock full of salt and you might have a water retention thing going on. And the oatmeal bars could be a trigger thing for you and if you think so, you might want to limit them to ONE bar a day.

Again, just my opinion of the situation, but others will be here soon to help out!

Thanks Kathy...I was thinking that those oatmeal bars were trouble......since
they were so good......and I planned on laying off those and also the olives only
because I didn't buy any this week............appreciate your opinion.
Have a great week coming

Olives are my downfall ... if I buy a jar, I'll eat the whole thing. Somehow I tell myself it's a vegetable, and it's legal -- and it IS, but the salt! Wooooo!

I hope the coming week is better to you. Try to stick straight to the whole foods concept and see how that works for you. Eggs, lean meats, vegetables, baked potato, brown rice, etc.
