Hi there
TECHALUM So glad hubby came through surgery. You both are in my prayers. I know when I have sat in the hospital with my hubby. I always felt like I didnt get enough water. I know some days I didnt. But other days I know I did. I just wonder if the air in the hospital is different from what we are use to. And then sometimes I would think. I dont want to keep running to the bathroom all the time. Good job on passing up McDonalds. That should have made you feel really proud. Have a wonderful day.
BEACHBUM Hope you are having a good day. Thinking of you.
VICKIE How are you feeling. Hope you get in with the new Dr soon.
ONTARGET I feel like I will be going to WW when I am in a nursing home. Using my walker or wheelchair to get to the meetings. And still not be at goal. Maybe one of these days.
BLESSWITHSARAH Glad you had a good turnout for your WW meeting.
Well I have to go. Need to hang the load of clothes out.
Washing up some winter stuff.
Have a great day.
Thinking of everyone

Hey chicks! I've been so busy, I haven't had time to read all of the posts. I did see Rhonda's B'day :woo: Sounds like it was great. To all of you who are frustrated, depressed, gaining, and just feeling blah, I'm right there with ya. I've tried cutting down to one starch carb per day, taking a core holiday, drinking water, and complaining. None of that has helped. I'm still using the I'm just too tired to exercise when I get home excuse, and I know that you all are getting as tired of hearing it as I am of saying it. So HANG IN THERE everyone!! We must not give up! Even if it means staying the same and eating healthy, we are doing better than most people. Oh well, enough b*&^(#ing.

Sandra, we need some of your will power dust, and hurry!

Never can get too much :dust:

Maryann, I hope you're in better spirits now.

Sloan, here's a special :dust: for you.

Thanks! I needed that!!!!!

Hi
SLOANIE You are not alone. I am wondering if I am getting the blues because I know winter is just right around the corner. It is already getting darker earlier. But I know I have to get out of that thinking. It is going to come no matter what I do. So am trying to get some good books lined up to have to read. And thinking about getting out the cross stitich stuff. So I will walk on the journey with you.
Hey is anyone going to watch Greys Anatamy (spelling) tonight. I love that show.
Well need to get a few things done before it comes on.
Hope everyone has a great relaxing evening.

Good evening everyone. Well, I've done really well OP today. I'm doing carbs with either lunch or dinner to get things moving in the right direction. So far, so good.

Tech, glad dh has gotten through the surgery. How long is he in the hospital? It is very, very dry in hospitals. You should drink more water than normal. I don't know what it is that causes them to be dry. Keep us posted. Congrats on making healthy choices in a stressful situation. Good going!

Maryann, stay dry tomorrow. DD has her first kindergarten field trip - rain or shine. Its to go pumpkin picking. I had dh go to Sears and get her a new rain coat. He came home with a nice Land's End winter coat - has a hood, is light weight and water resistant. It will do! (She needed a nicer winter coat anyhoo) Especially since it supposed to be a cold windy, rainy day. I did email her teacher and as of this afternoon, they are going. Its only for an hour there, so hopefully she'll keep somewhat dry.

Well, got to run. BBL

I just had a slice of the Cream of Wheat bread. The recipe is at the bottom of page 2 in Core Snacks. it is delicious! Now I hope I can control myself. It would be easy to overdo.

Hello All,

Popping in really quick to say I stuck to plan again today :D. I'm pretty proud of myself. I'm more worried about next week because, he'll be home, I'll be home, I'll be stressed and the food will be here. But I will make it. Keep :crossed: that I do well at WI tomorrow. Otherwise I'll be very discouraged and have a hard time not blowing it tomorrow.

DH is doing well, I only spent a couple of hours there this afternoon, but the grass needed mowing and I really wanted to go to yoga (ok maybe wanted is a strong word needed is more appropriate). He got out of bed and sat in the chair while I was there, I never thought that would be a big deal but it was. Tomorrow the Drs want him to take a walk down the hall, should be interesting....He's supposed to come home early next week (5-7 days in the hospital).

Have a good night all. I'll check in after WW before heading downtown again.

Have a great OP day, everyone.

coco99 09-26-2008 10:37 AM

Hi Everyone
Well we are getting some rain. We need it. Was getting awful dry. And the tress are trying to turn. But so far we wont have a pretty fall.
TECHALUM Good job on staying OP yesterday. And that is wonderful that your hubby was able to get into a chair. They say the best thing a person can do after surgery is walk. You are both are in my prayers.
BLESSEDWITHSARAH I bet your little one is all excited about going to the pumpkin patch. That brings back alot of memeories.
TEJAS Thanks for the will power dust. Need all I can get.
ONTARGET Never heard of cream of wheat bread. I will have to look up the recipe.
VICKIE hope everything is ok. Have a good day.
Well guess I better get off here and get something done. Did make me some sf ff pudding. And also made some for hubby. He always seems to want what I fix me for a snack. He eats what I eat. Plus something else. Not sure what we will have for supper tonight. Running out of ideas.
Well I will be back later.
Have a wonderful day everyone.

Happy Friday ladies!!

I had to weigh in "on the go" this morning since tomorrow I'm doing a Memory Walk for Alzheimer's with my roommates. I thought I did bad, but I ended up losing 4.2. How I did that I have no idea. I was stressed this week to the point where on two days I didn't eat much, and I only worked out 3 times. I guess the body likes randomness :)

Sloan- Have you tried eating mostly protein one day, mostly veggies another day, mostly fruits after that? Maybe try 3 days of that and go back to eating what you want on Core and see where that takes you. I hope the will power dust does its thing for you :)

Donna- Glad to hear dh is doing well. And when is your birthday??

For the rest of you that are struggling, I go through at least 2-3 weeks of no weight loss or .8 or .2 and it's SO frustrating, but just remember that life is full of ups and downs. Just be happy if you don't gain (half glass full!!)

How long is your walk tomorrow.
Hope you have a great day. And good luck with the walk.

:woohoo: Sammi. That's a great loss.

Curtis and I are sitting here waiting for time to go to Grandparents' Day for our older granddaughter. We'll be taking Subway sandwiches to eat. After we eat, we'll have photos taken then go to the book fair.

Rhonda, I think we're going to the Beaumont Ranch tonight for dinner. Wish ya'll were here to go with us.

sammi861 09-26-2008 11:15 AM

Thanks! :)

It's a 3 mile walk

Coco and Sammi, thanks for the encouragement. Tech, I'm praying for you and dh. Don't forget, we are there with you.

Like Coco, I've noticed the days are getting shorter. I, too, have pulled out the hand work, knitting a sweater, and have joined a book club. I will keep busy and stay op. I may also try Sammi's suggestion of alternating protein, fruit, and veggies for three days to see if that jump starts anything.

I may not be back until next week depending on the internet at home. I'm really proud of all you "losers".
