Hi Ladies:)

Oh what a day we're having down pour all day, didn't go out at all but my poor Leo had to take the car in for repairs again this week. Hope he got the problem resolved.

I'm in a better spirit today, going to try the Wendie plan today, and if my number move down again.

COCO-Sorry:sorry: for being such a whinner,I tend to do things like that from time to time when things don't go my way.

SLOAN-Wish I know what causes woman such a difficult time in losing to the male population.I tried everything I could think of also but to see no results. How the Wendi plan works for me. I'm up to 20 pts today and tomorrow[Sat] will be the 30 SHD. Than down to low 20 pts again on Sun, Mon=26 Tues=down to 22 Wed =23. using Core foods If that doesn't work I'll go on the volume Wendie like Donna suggested. Here some :dust: for the both of us.

PAULA-I'm staying warm & dry we have our fireplace :flame: going. I sure your DD is happy going pumpkin picking the weather really doesn't effect the little one like it does us.Its going to be awash out this whole weekend.

SAMMI-Big :congrat:congrats on your 4.2 weight loss. You must be doing something right, keep up whatever you were doing.Oh No stress tends me to eat & over eat. Wish it was the opposite like you do.Have a great 3 mile walk tomorrow.

SANDRA-Didn't know it was grandparents :queen: :drill: day.Have a wonderful time with your grandchildren.

Going to watch the golf game

Hugs :)

Rhonda, we're not going to the fish fry tonight afterall. I have a core meatloaf in the oven. Just letting you know we're not at the Beaumont Ranch. We're at Horton Hollow.

ontarget 09-26-2008 05:51 PM

Maryann, I think this Grandparents' Day is just a local event. It's nothing official.

coco99 09-26-2008 06:14 PM

Hi Everyone
SLOANIE have a good weekend.
BEACH BUM You are not a whinner. I have done my fair share of whinning. This is the place to be though. We are here for you. And the support from the others is great. We didnt have a all day rain. Just some this morn. And it is kinda cool this eve. Told hubby. Almost reminds of snow clouds in the sky today. And it was pretty dreary. Did a peek of sun once in awhile. Have a great weekend.
ONTARGET How did the Grandparents thing go. And a meatloaf sounds mighty tasty on a day like today.
Well not sure what all we will get into this weekend. Know we are suppose to go to a wedding tomorrow afternoon. Am a little afraid. Because I dont know what they will have to eat. Am thinking of eating some green beans before we go. And take a bottle of water with me. And try and drink that before they start serving the food.
Well I am going to get off here.
Hope everyone has a relaxing evening.
Have a great weekend everyone

Coco, thank you for asking. We had a great time. Not only did we get to visit with Kennedy but we also got to visit with some folks I had grown up with. We all sat together at the same table and chatted the entire time. They were there with their granddaughter. We found out our grands are friends and are in the same class. After lunch we had our photos taken then took Kennedy to the book fair and got her some goodies. All in all--we all had a great time.

Are Texans trying to commit suicide? Just saw an ad for the TX State Fair that opens tonight. They are now featuring chicken fried bacon along with all the usual fried Snickers, Twinkies, Oreos, and who knows what?

Rhonda, enjoy the concert.

Good Morning Ladies:)

The rain has stopped for a while and Leo want to get out before it starts again. We are to get hit by the new hurricane Kiel that coming up the coast, not by us but in the Turo & Chatham area, this weekend. We're probably going to get winds and heavy rains out this one. TG we have a new roof and we would have to worry about flooding.

I did good last night on the Wendie plan ate the amount of points that I was allowed.and not more. Going to watch my grain carbs no popcorn tonight, decided that I'm going to have crunchy snow peas instead. Have an idea I went nut on the core plan with all the grain carbs available such as pasta, rice, couscous, quinoa, barley you get the picture. I think once off the Wendi plan I'm going back to the Core but rely on my veggies & fruits for my carb intake.

SANDRA-Didn't:no: know they celebrated Grandparents Day.Now I see :cool:it on my calendar as Sept 7th,and I'm hurt as my DGC didn't call me on that day.

Never heard of fried chicken bacon, fried snickers, twinkles & oreos, cnan imagine what they taste like.

COCO-Thanks:thanks: for letting me cry:cry: here, now I think I see the forest between the trees,my mistake:chin: on the core is GRAIN CARBS and I'm going to take charge now and rectify what I was doing for the last 13 weeks.

:dust:Have a wonderful HARD CORE weekend, going to watch the golf game before I have my dinner:dust:

Hugs :)

THE COUNTRY FAIR

In today's episode of "Lucy and Ricky" we find Curtis and Sandra at the Liberty Chapel Volunteer Fire Department Country Fair. In the midst of rural Texas among oak trees and johnson grass Curtis and Sandra happen upon a small country festival complete with darts, balloons, a "train" that's made of a 4 wheeler pulling 50 gallon barrels that have been emptied and magically transformed into train cars.....................................

I see this is getting way too long. Long story short. We bought a huge chocolate cake covered with globs of chocolate icing and topped with cherry pie filling. I held it in my lap for about 10 miles while we rode home. Thank goodness for the ride. We both decided our moment of temptation was over and we gave the cake away to the lady running the hamburger stand about a mile from our house. Life is good.

Maryann, I have eaten too many grains this week and need to rely on fruits more. My pitfall was making that core bread. I am a big (literally) bread eater and need to put the skids on it. So that's the plan. Have fun on your day out. I hope Kiel doesn't cause you any problems.

Coco, how's your weekend going? Are you going to WW meetings? I can't remember.

Tejas 09-27-2008 04:28 PM

Congrats for getting rid of the cake, Sandra! That's willpower!

The concert last night was spectacular. I only have words, but words are not enough. If you ever get a chance to see Lang Lang, spend the money and go! If you can't go see him, and he's on TV, watch it. Buy a CD. I have been fortunate enough to see a lot of concerts and this man was spellbinding. We were in the front row, no more than 10 feet away from him. We could see him sweat and hear him breathe. When he played a piece of Bartok's I thought the piano would collapse under the power of his hands. Never, ever have I seen anyone play with such animation.

Today I went to a memorial service for a colleague who was from Africa and the Carribean originally. There was a performance by a steel band that was glorious.

I've been blessed this weekend with music, that's for sure.

I am very sleepy and am headed to take a nap

Food intake has been OK, not great. I've been around too much free food!

BBL,
Rhonda

Welcome back, Nancy, and congratulations on maintaining.

Rhonda, I love your passion for music. Makes me smile.

beach bum 09-28-2008 10:45 AM

Good Morning Ladies:)

We are waiting for Hurricane Kiel to pass us by but the flooding is the problem where I live our main thoroughfare that heads down to the town might be a wash out as we have several ponds in that area that over flow with all the rain that we are going to get some time this morning. Not going to church as I don't want to be stuck some where in the flood area. Leo & I are staying home, relaxing and watching the last day of the Federal Cup Golf Tournament.

SANDRA-BIG CONGRATS:carrot: on giving the cake away, that took alot :dust: to do that.I guess we both have to watch our grain carbs. They're so easy to fall for as they are allowed but we must watch the portion sizes of them, even if it hard,to see 1/2 c of pasta or rice is so little on the plate that we tend to go back for seconds. That what I like about the flex weighing & measuring. Maybe that what I have to do,and not try to eyeball:eek: everything.

RHONDA-Glad  that you had such a great time at the concert.Never heard of Lang Lang.,I guess I should go back into the arts of good music. Is he a classical music artist, like love all types of classical music. The last time I heard a steel band was in Tortola when we went on vacation 4 years ago. We bought the bands CD's and have many moments of this fantastic music.

NANCY-Big congrats:congrat: maintaining while you were off this board. I remember how sad you were having your son leave for :book2: college, has time healed this feeling??? You will succeed to get down to 130 especially if you have a plan.

Have a great day,I going to relax and watch some golf

Hugs :)

Tejas 09-28-2008 10:53 AM

Welcome Back, Nancy. So you have some goals, and no doubt you can meet them. I've got to reset mine, since I'm obviously not meeting them.

Yes, Maryann, Lang Lang is a classical musician. His name is pronounced "Long Long" which I didn't know until they announced him. He has his name trademarked. I wonder what those whose name is also Lang Lang have to do: pay royalties when they use their names

I have two big challenges today: going out for both lunch and dinner. I think I'll do my $#*&est to have just protein and salad.

Have a great day all.

Rhonda
