Way to go, Coco! Great job. Hope DH's toe gets better. Congratulations on saying NO to the fries.

I lost 2.2 tonight. I changed my tracker. I can't believe I have to make a new one each time. Is there some trick to this? I keep assigning a pin and it never works.

Vickie 09-22-2008 08:25 PM

Thanks, Cher. I don't know what to make of this. I think I smell it worse at home. So is it some kind of chemical from cleaners we've used, or the new counter, or the glue, or the new backsplash? I can't think of anything else new that we've done. It's making me crazy.

Tejas 09-22-2008 08:31 PM

Congrats Coco and Vickie!!!! way to go!!!

I was hard core all day. Way too tired to exercise today but I WILL do it tomorrow.

Great Job Vickie & Coco :woohoo:

I've gone back to Core this week - just getting through today was hard enough though along with a migraine - (talked to my neighbour tonight & she and her husband also have migraines - must be the change in the barometric pressure!)

It was a good thing hubby wasn't home today - didn't really need him to start harping on me about something new - I swear men PMS too! I think he's going through a mid-life crisis! LOL

Anyways, I'm dog-tired tonight (didn't fall asleep till 2am) as much as I'm grumbling about him, I can't go to sleep without my hubby next to me. You're right Tracie, about 80% of the time, my man is absolutely wonderful.:halffull:

I'm sorry that you're not feeling better Vickie. It was hard for me to accept the whole smoke thing - at one point I thought that I was going insane - REALLY - we lived in an old farmhouse & one of my friends suggested that there was a ghost/spirit smoking beside me!!!! Now I don't believe in that kind of stuff but I did question it! LOL. Try to relax, have a cold glass of ice water, slowly drinking it, while holding it close to your face - I found that the cold vapours help (as well as a cold wet cloth over my face laying down), or try a slow walk outside if it's cool out (I can't remember where you live - but it's been cool here -we had frost last night).
Take good care of yourself & rest up,

/Cheryl

Cheryl, you are SO kind. I really, really, felt comforted by your post. I will try your suggestions tomorrow. I'm apprehensive about going to the Internist tomorrow because I don't want him to think I'm a crackpot. I have had a few migraines in my life but only two with visual auras. I really don't want to start having a million tests that don't help.

Mornin' Chickies:

I'm taking the morning off because....why?..wait for it...it's my 63rd birthday :hb: today! Made it through another year! Yea!

I have some good friends in town from Vancouver and we're meeting for coffee in about an hour. Then, I have to go to a work meeting, but I'm coming right back home. DH and I are going out to a very good but casual restaurant run by a fancy dancy chef tonight for dinner. DH also bought us a series of concert tickets and on Friday night we're going to go hear the Chinese pianist Lang Lang. He is sensational, and I'm really looking forward to this. Part of this concert package also includes hearing Yo Yo Ma and his Silk Road Ensemble in the Spring. I LOVE his music. If you haven't heard it, do try to do so. He's just an amazing cellist.

So, I'm going to be as Core as possible, but will likely have a glass of wine tonight :hat:

See ya later!

Rhonda

Happy Birthday Rhonda !!!! Enjoy yourself today & Have Fun !!!!

& Hello Ladies :)

I hope you all have a great day too! My migraine is finally gone, I'm just so tired. Gotta go log today's menu, make myself a late lunch, make some muffins for my son, walk the dog, then maybe have a nap before he comes home from school. We have a fun night - bonfire at Church so I better rest up!

blessedwithsarah 09-23-2008 03:11 PM

Happy Birthday Rhonda!!
Hope you have a wonderful day.

Congrats to our losers-- Vickie and Coco!!! Great going! I just hope I do as well this week.

Cheryl, glad you migrane is gone. I hadn't gotten one of those in years - mine were stress enduced. Thankfully, work is not as stressful as in the past.

Had a nice day today - went shopping to find a dress for my nephews wedding. Didn't fine one, but got a nice pair of slacks, blouse and sweater. Felt good in them, I like to get one or two new things each season to brighten up my work wardrobe. I also got dd a few more tops for school. I then met a friend I have not seen in many years -- had a nice lunch and talked for hours! It was great to see her.

I then stopped at the farmers market on the way home - have some nice egg plants, peppers and onions to grill tonight along with some steak and fingerling potatoes.

Our first official wi is tomorrow ( the start of the at work program). I did note my weight last week, so I'm hoping for a loss. Knowing that tomorrow is really the first wi and not second, I have to admit I've eaten a few non core things. Oh well, can't go back.

Well, got to go meet the bus. BBL

Hello Everyone,

:yay: Fall Is Here :yay:

Fall is my favorite season (and it has nothing to do with being born in Oct ;)). Well I did 2-5 mile rides yesterday. For some reason my lunch was not sitting well and bending over on the bike wasn't helping, so I was riding slow and didn't want to go far. But it was probably DH's last chance to ride this season and he wanted to go farther, so I told him to go on I'd hang out at the picnic area just past where I wanted to turn around. I think I actually nodded off laying on the bench. I figure even w/a half hour break in the middle 10.5 miles is something. Today we (my dog and I) met my folks at the park for our weekly walk, we had to go a little later than usual because they had their boat taken out this morning (now I know summer's over), so it got a little warm. We are having unseasonably warm weather this week.

Tomorrow is DH's surgery, today he's doing the cleaning out (for anyone who's had a colonoscopy you know what I mean), and tomorrow we go to the hospital. Not sure yet what time the surgery is tho, he needs to call this afternoon. Then he's in the hospital for 5-7 days before coming home, so he'll be home early next week, and I'll be commuting downtown :^: for the week. I stopped at the grocery store on the way home and picked up some snacks so I'm not too tempted by the vending machines and "Little Ceasers".

Rhonda - :celebrate: Happy Birthday to You :celebrate: Enjoy yourself. Have you ever seen/heard Johannes Linstead? He's from the Toronto area and plays Nuevo Flemenco (sp) guitar. We really like him.

Coco - :congrat: on both turning down the fries and the weight.

Vicki - :congrat: to you to on the weight loss. Hope your doctor apt goes well.

Paula - Good Luck at WI tomorrow. Sounds like you had a nice day.

Cher - Glad your migraine is gone. Have fun at the bonfire tonight.

Maryanne - Don't be discouraged, you know you can do this try something new, I know a lot of posters who've tried the wendi plan and it worked. You wouldn't necessarily need to go back to flex, just have high and low volume of food days, not high/low pt days. And don't put away those shorts yet, this warm weather is probably headed your way next.

Sandra - Thanks for the well wishes. I'll try to keep you updated.

Tracie - As much work as it was over the weekend it will be worth it I know. This is the most I've done, last year I made sauce because I didn't know what to do with all my tomatoes and was really happy. I'll post the recipe for the salsa I made. It's from a different website and pretty sweet, I'm hoping that mellows some with time.

Well have a great night everyone.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CUZ!!!!! I hope your day is as special as you are. Your birthday gift sounds awesome!

:woohoo: Coco and Vickie. You're doing great.

Rhonda, congratulations to you, too, for staying hard core.

Cher, I'm glad you're over your migraine.

Donna, just do the best you can this week. I can't imagine the stress. Again, remember to hug yourself.

I went to ww this am and had lost 6.4 lbs. I know I'll have to work very hard to have a loss next week after having this great loss. After ww I got my hair highlighted, had lunch with a gf, then she and I got pedicures. Life is good.

cher37 09-23-2008 05:47 PM

Sandra, WOO HOO! Congratulations girlie. I guess the blinks and will power dust DO work.

My Internist referred me to a Taste and Smell Disorder Clinic. he says the Doctor is renowned. Too bad he couldn't remember his name. I'll have to wait to call him on Thursday. He says it isn't uncommon for someone who's lost their sense of smell after a bad viral infection to have smell disturbances afterwards. He says this Doctor can help me and that I should go to this clinic. I guess I'll go. Harumpf....and thank God I'm one of the fortunate middle class that has decent health insurance.
