That's why I walk indoors, Patti. I couldn't handle the outside heat either.

Way to go, Maryann. I'm always happy to lose anything with my old menopausal body.

Hi Guys!!!

I am ready to get back on track with my core diet.

For the last month I have not been very stict with it.
At first it was because I was cooking all my son's
favorite meals before he left to college and then
it was stress eating because he left for college LOL

Even so, I have only gained 1-2 pounds and some may be salt/water
retention.

I am going to do a week with lean protein/vegs/fruits only...
is that what everyone calls hardcore???

Sloan-You positive vibes helped me get the scale down Thanks,I needed to see that scale move downward.I think that popcorn was the culprit that made me feel lousy last week, but I did find an alternative at the meeting place, they have a new products called pretzel thins that 2 pts per package if you follow flex or core.

Tracie-WOOOOO HOOOOO!!!Big congratsTracie on your 2.2 weight loss. I like to see that for me. WOW. I followed Hard Core this time around and only lost .6 I think I will give myself some leave way by cutting my grain carbs a little,in order to have more WPA's such as WW ice cream[2] pretzel thins[2] WW eng muffin & pita[1]. I really missed them doing hard core.

Sammi-Here some [[[[[good vibes]]]] to have a great w-i today.

VICKIE-I've been on the core for 9 weeks the [first wk= lost 2.4] than the [2nd I went up.2][3rd=maintained][4th = -1.2]5th=+.8][6th -.8][7th=+1][8th=+.4][9th=-.6] This is certainly a zag zig pattern of my losses & gains.I guess I should be happy with a lose of any kind. Thanks Vickie for pointing that out to me.

NANCY-That hard core Protein veggies & fruit is what I going to aim for and have very very little grain carbs during the week The only thing I want to do is to have some of the WPA I listed above..Those 1-2 lbs will come off you'll see,the small amount is water retention.

Going to watch the golf [post season] tournament,as you see from my new ticker I interested in golf and the other ticker is suppose to be a BBQ as I LOVE BBQ FOOD.

Hugs

WTG BB!!! A loss is a loss!!

Nancy, hardcore is eating all core foods without using any WPA's. So you can still have your potato or rice or pasta once a day, but only once a day. Just stick to all core foods, and watch your satisfaction level.

Vickie and Patti, I wish I could walk for exercise. But I can ride a bike. I hate having a bad knee

Just hanging out and resting today. I feel a lot better. I will be going back to work tomorrow. I am going to be swamped! Need to get caught up. The plan was only 2 days off, that's what my doctor said. Well, I needed 4 days off.

We went to WW this AM. I rejoined, but Curtis sat as a visitor. We're both eating well now and are anxious to see healthy results.

Tracie, I'm glad you took some days off. Your body needed it.

Maryann and Tracie, any loss is a good loss. for you both. I'm soooo ready to see the scales dropping.

Vickie, I joined you today posting about what I'm eating. Thank you for starting those threads.

Thanks Sandra! I started when I was home for summer w/ my mom. It was soooo much easier when I didn't have people around me who constantly wanted to go to the bar or out to eat.

I just weighed in today and I'm now down a total of 28.4 pounds (-4.6 over 2 weeks)! I'm not gonna let the college lifestyle get me in trouble again w/ my weight... I've worked too damn hard!

Nancy- Good luck this week! Really stick to it and that weight will be off in no time

Maryann: Thanks for those good vibes. They worked!

36.2 pounds until I am at goal!

Congrats to Sammie, Maryann and Tracie on your great losses - excellent work!

Vicke - did you get into the pool today? We are finally getting really hot temps now after weeks of rain and I sure wish I was in a pool - supposed to be in the nineties tomorrow and on weekend!

Tracie - what ship and cruiseline were you on? I saw a similar jet boat excursion in Cozumel - and it sounds great - except very expensive at $98 per person! We are heading to a beach club instead for swimming and snorkelling (I won't mention the food and open bar!). In Roatan I have reserved a private driver for a tour, visit to the iguana farm, some shopping then a stop at a beach resort for more swimming/snorkelling - I can't wait! (going to be doing Grand Cayman and Jamaica on my march 2009 cruise - but we'll talk about that one later! )

So I survived the 'ice cream' social' we had at work today - I did have some but managed quite nicely - small scoop with LOTS of fruit (bananas, raspberries, blueberries) and sauce....had a headache after that - probably too much sugar!

I am actually writing down what I eat - not posting here tho cuz I am technically not doing 'core' - just core 'inspired' and watching quantities...

Then off to the hairdresser after work - got rid of those ugly gray (actually white!) roots and feeling much better now - and my hair really grew in 6 weeks! I usually go on weekend but hairdresser having surgery tomorrow (carpal tunnel !) so she will be off for six weeks - hope I can last - but I did buy one of those 'root touch up kits' just in case

Tomorrow's challenge - wine and cheese party after work at colleague's new house - not sure how to approach this? I am assuming there will be other food there? I am bringing a bottle of wine....not planning to stay long tho - maybe 1-2 hrs?

No other plans - maybe we'll get to sil's pool this weekend? (after I have 'enjoyed' my hair enuf to 'undo' it dunking it in the pool - ha ha ha)

Hi All:

I ate way too much today but was mostly Core. I don't think I'm going to have any loss this week, but maintaining will be OK with me this week.

I'm going to try to stay home all week next week and that will help. I really need a long time away from the office and I'm not getting it.

I haven't exercised since Monday night and that's not good. I'm walking a lot, but have to get back on my every other day exercise approach.

Talk to you tomorrow.

Frouf, I'm posting here even though I'm eating core-inspired instead of core. Okay, your trip sounds well-planned and fun-filled. I'm turning green (again).

Rhonda, you sound tired. I'm glad you're taking next week off.

We're debating on what to do--sell the condo, sell the condo and truck, or just keep them. Life goes on.

Hello All,

I can't believe it's Friday and I haven't posted since Monday This week has been full of ups and downs, I haven't exercised much, and yesterday I made poor food choices (I am a fast food junkie if I wouldn't weight a ton I'd eat there every day). Today is my WI day though and I was down .6 Again not a lot but I am pretty happy. I tend to loose slow 3 weeks then a good loss, then slow......you can guess which cycle that follows. My key is to not gain on those 3 weeks to negate the good one.

Sunday we leave on vacation for 5 days. It's our celebration of completing phase 1 of dh's treatment. He has a break until surgery which is scheduled for Sept 24.

Today I get to do laundry and clean our room, my sister is dog sitting while we're gone and she has allergies so I'm going to do the bi-annual sweeping under the bed (we store our luggage there so it's a hassle), usually I find fur balls the size of the dogs (which are 70lb dogs). I should get some activity pts for laundry since the bedroom is on the second floor and the laundry in the basement.

Sorry this has been all about me. I have read the posts and I promise to be more regular when we get back from vacation

Have a great weekend everyone.

Good Morning Ladies

We had a good night sleep and got up early to another 56% temps.LOVE THIS KIND OF WEATHER,NOT TOO HOT OR TOO COLD.

Leo & I are going out maybe down to the beach again.

I decided to go on a 3 day fast detox program starting Mon-Wed. To clean out the toxins from my colon. Having problems again. This time internally.
The fast consists of eating raw fruits at breakfast & loads of raw veggies for lunch & dinner.Plus lots detox tea in between the meals.Got this from a health book for cleaning out the colon.Hope I will get thought this ok,as I didn't get permission from my doctor.

Tracie Thanks for the congrats hope I see a better lose after the fast.Oh by all means can't believe the doctor told your 2 days,I would have taken off more like you did.

Sandra-Glad that you went back to the meeting,I think they are very informative. Stay for all meeting even when the scale goes up I stay just to socialize with the other members.

SAMMI-You're really doing great on the core plan wow!! I think I have to cut my grain carbs from 1 c to 1/2 a cup. Like your determination when you go back to college, not to eat unhealthy as you worked to hard. Your welcome, but I think you lost not because of my vibes, but for the good work that your doing??

Frouf-Thanks for the congrats on my.6 loss. That was a thought thing to handle ICE CREAM especially during the summer months. Congrats on choosing fruit instead.

I did Hard Core for 2 weeks and I didn't like it.I'm not doing Hard Core anymore, as you're only allowed core foods with out any WPA. I just can't live like that.My leader to told me not to try as I would be frustrated and bored so I do tent to look for low point [1 0r 2 pts] foods.

RHONDA-I agree with Sandra you do sound tried. Please take care of your self. Maybe drink more water to flush the core foods out of your system. I couldn't exercise even walk in the kind of weather and temps we were having. Now that the cool air has arrived I be out walking again.

TECH-Have a great time on your 5 day vacation, and try not to worry about your DH surgery, still sending prayers your way.Leo is not feeling much better now that that they took that awful meds off the chemo treatment. He has 4 months of treatments left.

Have to go will post later

Good Morning Chicks! I got an early start today since my backsplash is being installed. He's working so I thought I could come here and say hello.

Nancy, I agree with Maryann. Hardcore means using none of the 35 WPA's. I never plan to do this as all it does is make me unhappy and go off plan. I need to have a little margarine and a bun/bread here and there. Just go back on plan and try to keep yourself to single servings of things as much as possible. Welcome Back!

Maryann, my Dad loved golf too. My arms are too short. I could never hit the ball without the club hitting me in the chest! How are you feeling today? How your DH?

Tracie, do whatever exercise you can. Try not to work too hard today.

Sandra, congratulations my friend, for going back to your meetings. I'm motivated right now all by myself but I'll surely need your help once the "newness" wears off. How are you feeling about being back on program? Did you like the new Leader?

Frouf, no pool yesterday and probably none today because of the Tiler. Harumpf! The projected temperatures for the next couple of days are warm enough but we keep having scattered rain and thunderstorms. I have white roots too when they grow out. I've been going every 4 weeks but may be able to cut that down now that they are white versus dishwater blonde. Lordy, a one to two hour wine and cheese party would be a SCARY event for me. I love cheese. It would be hard for me to abstain. I'm sure you'll go with a full stomach? Good Luck!

Rhonda, Sandra is right. You sound tired AND blue. Any way we can help?

Donna, congratulation on your loss of nearly a pound! You've got a lot going on in your life right now and this is a huge accomplishment. Enjoy your mini vacation. You and DH really deserve it.

I have no plans for the weekend except to get into the pool if I can. I have a very busy week next week and I want to be rested up for it.

Drink your water. I'll be back later.

Hey Chicks! Sounds like there is alot of weight coming off! I'm on that same yoyo that you all are talking about. It seems like I lose, gain, maintain, then lose again! It gets kind of frustrating, but as long as the weight keeps coming off, I guess I'll be happy. I did try a "core holiday" yesterday, so I'll see how that works. I have been maintaining for the last three weeks, so I'm hoping the "holiday" works.

DD and I had a nice day. We went to breakfast with my parents in the morning then went to the Goodwill. We bought plates, bowls, glasses, and flatware for her efficiency apartment that totalled $5.00. We also found her the cutest "messenger" bag for $5.00. After our shopping, we packed her car, and she left at around 5pm. She stopped in Knoxville to stay with a friend last night, and called me this morning to let me know that she was on campus and getting settled in. I did not realize that I was stressed about her travelling, but when she called from campus, I felt very relieved. I'll miss her, but I do feel like she is in a good place.

I'm busy at school today, and since I talked so much about myself, I don't have time to speak to you all. Sorry to be so self centered GTG now and get some work done. TTFN

Oh...I love hearing about everyone's lives! It's all part and parcel of what's going on that has bearing on how well we lose weight.

Sloan, I'm SO glad you had a nice day with DD. The Core holiday will work for sure as long as you go right back on program.
