Yogini - I started exercising two years ago but only began my food log (Fitday then Nutridiary) about six months ago. I figured out I was eating 300 - 500 calories too many per day (mostly cheese and nuts and the occasional piece of cake or cookies). Portion control and keeping track of my calories seems to be the best way for me to lose weight (plus exercising at Curves 3x a week). I don't feel deprived as I can eat what I like within reason. I've also discovered some new foods that I really enjoy, especially some unusual vegetables
