I don't think I like what they did with this board. Everything seems to be more complicated and it is slower loading than before.
Joanne - I hope your stomach feels better. Perhaps you will need to go to see the Dr.
Meme - I hope you are now feeling better. It's been awhile.
Well, not much to report here. I have been doing my walking and stair climbing. That stair climbing can really hurt the lower back, and somedays the old legs feel like stumps and it takes every ounce of energy I have to move them. Must burn more calories then
We are under a blanket of fog here yesterday and today. Really thick and sure not very normal for us. Hardly any snow, but suppose we will get that next month. Seems the past few years we have gotten more in March and April than during the darn winter. Just seems to make winter drag on, no matter how nice it is.
Good afternoon-thanks for the new thread Anne-I love cookies too and pie for that matter-found some chocolate chip cookies not mad with wheat in the health food store-yummy-Boy did it rain yesterday!!!Just found out that the baby will be taken on April 2-Caesarian-that messes things up-I wish it was earlier or later so we know where we will be for Easter-we are getting homesick so we would rather leave earlier but I certainly want to be here for a time after the baby. We will see-also depends on traveling weather-so far no storms at home. Going to my daughter-in-law's mothers for dinner tonight. Good luck Joanne. mima
Good Afternoon everyone hope that everyone is feeling tip top shape today!!!!!!!!! Joanne hope that you are feeling better and your stomach problems have went away by now Happy glad that you are still walking and stair climbing keep it up mima could you share them cookies I am about ready to have a attack!!!!!!!! did eat a glazed doughnt today at work really have cut down on my sweets but at times want to eat sweets all day well have agreat day Rita
Candice... you start a new thread by going to the forum page and clicking on the "new thread" button in the upper left corner ... it's really hard to do!!! And ... by the way ... my family is NOT getting their slave back. I'm so tired. I have no blood. My family doesn't even call to see how I am! I've lost my 'get up and go' and my want to get up and do any thing, too.
On the plus side, I've kept off all the weight I lost while I was so sick and I really don't know how I did that. You all talk about exercise but I'm just too tired to even clean my house or do laundry! I'm now wearing clothes that I haven't worn in several years. I had a lady at church last Sunday tell me I looked like I had lost 20 pounds. (But then a man told me Wednesday night I looked sick!) Actually, I still don't feel so great ... I just don't have ANY energy and my ankle is taking a very long time to heal. I have to go to Nashville next Wednesday for a MRI on my other ankle ... I'm dreading the trip - just going to church wears me out! Hubby's been getting groceries, etc. I've been to the store once in the last 3 weeks.
Joanne - hope you're feeling better and that you lost weight this time! I tried to read what everybody wrote ... it was A LOT! Sounds like Mima is enjoying FL! Where is Ally?
Anne, no fog here but we got about 6 inches of snow last night. Hope Spring gets here soon!!! Hi to everyone else!
Just lost my post-those darn popups-in a nutshell-had to put recovery disk in computer again-no mouse-going to help son do shipping-baby due April 2. If that is the date we are in a dilemma about staying to see the baby and getting home for Easter. If he's early, it will be good but want him healthy. Not much you can do-babies come when they are ready. It won't go beyond April 2 because she is going to have a C section/ Meme-you must get better!!!!!!!!Are you taking iron. Quilt almost done!!!Bye for now. Mima Joanne-hope the scale was good.
Meme- No I didn't lose the weight. I am playing with 3-4 lbs every week.I hope you find a solution to your health problems. It must be time for you to take care of yourself and let the others find their way..
My stomach has calmed down. It was just a bout with IBS..I am not sure what kicked it off but that happens sometimes. The Dr. says I have to learn to live with it. I wonder how he would handle it..
It is cool and cloudy looking today...
Yes, Where is Ally? She is either deep in lust or out of it.. I hope she is well.
Mima- So you are getting homesick? That happens to me if I stay away from home more than a week.I hope you enjoy your time left down here.
Happy- My son called last night and said he was giving me his new treadmil.. He said he wasn't using it. It is a fancy model.I will get a lot of use out of it.. There are days I don't get to walk out because of the weather.
Rita- Keep up your exercise. I hope you get on a good eating plan. I know it is hard working in a health facility. I did it my last 15 years of working. There is always food around. I was at my heaviest then. Families are always bringing in treats for staff.
Candice...I wish I could get to my goal and stay there like you have, cookies and all..
Bye...Joanne
No, I can't take iron. You see I've been anemic all my life. I started taking Unicap Vitamins when I was 5, that was when they first discovered that I had NO blood. I remember the Dr. sticking nearly ALL of my fingers just to get enough blood to go on one of those little glass slides they used to use to test your blood level... that was before I even started to school. I guess I took so many pills for so many years they screwed up my system and now I just can't take anything! I chew those vitaballs and give myself B12 shots every 2 weeks. I eat A LOT of meat, beans, liver, eggs etc. - Especially when I get down this low, I go on a protein binge! I leave off nearly all the 'junk' foods and just eat healthy with huge amounts of protein and salads. But this time it seems like it isn't working very fast! I've even stopped taking the methotrexate for the last 3 weeks hoping that might help some. I must've been lower than I thought!!! We went to Cracker Barrel to eat tonight and had a 20 min. wait and I couldn't even stand in the restaurant for that long. Had to find a chair and sit down. Hubby said he thinks I need to go in the hospital and get some blood but I just refuse to do that unless I HAVE to. You never know whose blood you're getting ... you may be getting something worse than anemia!!!
Joanne ... sorry you didn't lose any. Maybe the new treadmill will help. Glad your stomach is better. I hate it when a Dr. says that ... it's so stupid and sounds like they don't even care. "I'm sorry, I wish there was something more I could do," would be so much nicer coming out of their mouths!
Mima ... a new baby! How great is that! I'd stick around for sure, home can wait a few more days - it'll still be there!!!
I just bought a new yogurt tonight you all have got to try. It's Yoplait Light, fat free, Boston Cream Pie and only has 110 calories. YUM ... it's so good! It's 6 oz... I don't know anything about the points since I don't do that. I'm mainly just eating for my blood ... and trying to eat healthy and not junk or fat or sugar.
Love all those yogurts. My aunt gets a b-12 shot every 3 weeks because she has pernicious anemia-sounds like you Meme-my brother is still going through tests and he still feels terrible and he was anemic and doc hasn't pescribed iron. He will have an endoscopy on Mon-so far-tests have been ok. Went to eat and movies last night with Mike and his family. One month to go til Evan. Hey Meme-second grandchild in 14 years!!!!!Tape my mouth shut-I ate fried grouper last night!!!Yogurt today. When I get an attack of IBS it lasts for days also Joanne. I haven't been too great down here. Helps to take Metamucil every night. Cool again today but that's the end of it-hope to swim tomorrow. We still have 2 gift certificates for boat trips to go on. Have a good weekend everyone. Mima
Made a WW fudge recipe last night and now I'm off to bed if I can sleep with the sun so Bright! (the fudge is for a friend of mine for her BD in March) it is in the freezer right now so I need to stay out of it!
Meme..you do not sound good at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK Candice you got me- Send us your WW Fudge recipee My hubby loves fudge..
Meme- Your hubby may be on the right tract. Maybe if you go into the hospital they will get you back to some good health.. Your family should be taking care of you!
Mima- I only have two G/children. They are pretty grown now. I would give anything for my son to get married and give me another G/child. Eleni just got another one. Her youngest daughter had the cutest boy. Blond and the tinest thing I ever held.Eleni is so lucky. But she has 5 kids giving her G/children.No the scale was up a pound. I was disappointed.
I walked today. If I can keep up that pace, I might have a loss next week...
Tomorrow I will try again. My son said he will bring over the treadmil next week. I hope we can get my hubby to use it. I don't know yet what I am going to do with the other one. Maybe salvation army.
Bye for now...Hello everyone ...Joanne
Good morning! We are supposed to meet Mike , Jill, and Alison at the pool but Mike has a stomache bug-not sure what will happen. Al loves to swim and she can snorkel to the bottom of the pool. Maybe you will have great grandchildren first, Joane. I have 2 younger ones and Brad has one that isn't married either. Probably when we are in the old age home they will come in with their children. My children's grandfather was 79 when he had his first granchild-my son Bobby. He cried and they went to the wrong hospital to visit. But he lived to be 93 so he had some time to enjoy them-grandmother was 79 when she died. Life is funny. Have a good Sunday-it's going to be 80 here. I wonder how Anagram is-and Ally. Mima
Mima- I am even wondering about the G/G/Grandchildren. My G/daughter is 22 qnd doesn't have anyone special that I know of and my G/son 24 either. They don't seem to have the time these days.
I wonder what happened to Ally too. Anagram said she was coming to Fl.She was going to the east coast. I hope they are well. She probably doesn't have a computer where she is.
Still cool here but it should heat up today. My hubby thinks this is the last gasp of winter. Maybe so,but, who knows. The weather has been crazy this year.
Bye...Joanne
HI! Everyone hope that you are having a nice sunday Ohio is sunny today and in the 50s hubby is riding his horse and so I have the place to myself so peacefull!!!!!!! did walk last night which was a biggie for me as my knee just doesnt agree with the walkbut took it in stride and was happy with my accomplishment just want to keep it up sp motivate me when I get in my slump wasd always a anemic all my life also but after my hyster it changed so know how you feel love yougrt also will have to try the boston cream pie well hope everyone else is having a great day Rita
Rita- Walking is about the best exercise you can do..Go to Walmart and buy yourself a knee support/brace. One that has hinges on the sides if you can find one. Or one you pull on that is all one piece. Not a wrap. I wore one for a year. I also had my Dr. do injections. You will thank your self for doing it..The brace will stablize the knee and reduce the pain.
I just love it when I get the house to myself for a while. That doesn't happen too often.. My hubby is retired too.
Hello everybody....Joanne
Joanne, here is the link for the fudge recipe...it is really easy and so good, one of the best fudge recipes I have tried! ( I put nuts in one batch too)
