Unhappy New to this site, Wedding blues

Hello!

I am new to this site, and am hoping to gain encouragement and to meet some new friends for support. Im twenty nine and just got engaged on christmas. (about 4 months ago)... I weighed 244, and decided to try out the herbalife diet. (2 shakes and one meal/day) I have lost 6bs in 6 weeks and am now 238. I've found that I binge at every opportunity and cannot seem to get motivated enough to make this work. I need help!!!

We will be getting married in December 2014. I know I have time to do something about this, but cannot seem to get started!!! I feel bad about myself every day. My fiance loves me no matter what, but what if I dont love myself?? What to do, what to do!! I dont want to feel bad about myself on my wedding day!!!

So, Sob story out there, here's hoping that I can somehow fix things and to communicate with anyone who knows what Im feeling.....

First off, congrats on your engagement and good job with the first 6 pounds. A pound a week isn't terrible. If you stay on this trend you'll be tiny by your wedding day!

I wonder if you are having trouble getting motivated because it your wedding is so far away. When I first got engaged, last May, I knew I wanted to lose weight for my wedding, not until June of 2015, but I also knew I had tons of time so I could start a year from now. However it didn't take me too long to realize that I want to be healthy now, not just for that one special day, and I want to be healthy for my fiancé. I think you need to remember that this will be a long term commitment and it will be much easier sticking with it if you have something motivating you.

Good luck.

Thumbs up

CONGRATS on your engagement!!!
I also got engaged this past Christmas (24th), and I know exactly how you're feeling. It took me a few weeks to figure out a way to keep myself on track dieting-wise. I am/was a HUGE junk food junkie ... well that and breads ... and everything else fattening and super yummy. LoL

GREAT JOB on the 6 pounds! Even falling off the wagon here and there, you still lost weight! Are you exercising with your herbalife plan?

Also, before i found a good plan I was binging like crazy, usually in the middle of the night when i got off work and the other half was in bed. Something I have found that helps is that I eat 5 times a day ... 3 small meals and 2 snacks in between. Seems like a lot (especially for someone who only ate 1 good meal a day before) BUT it keeps me from being hungry.

One last thing and then I'll shut up I eventually had to limit what I had in the house, otherwise my will power seemed to disappear. Now I've let my other half have some of his snacks and I'mfine around them, but when I first started it felt impossible.

Congrats again! And good luck!

Congratulations on your engagement and your 6 lb loss!

If the program you are doing is not working for you, definitely pitch it, and find another program.

Read through the threads on this forum. You will find so many different options and everyone here is more than happy to answer questions you might have. Set yourself up for success. If what you are doing does not work for you, you will not stick with it.

Find an app like LoseIt or My Fitness Pal, log everything you eat and your exercise.

I wish you the best and look forward to seeing your progress.

Congrats!
You should know that your fiance loves you just the way you are-or he wouldn't want to spend the rest of his life with you!!! So you shouldn't be too hard on yourself. You've already made the decision to make some changes in your life-be proud of that and your accomplishments so far!

I know so many people who stressed over being the ideal thin bride-and went to extremes to get there. Don't get discouraged if you don't get to your goal weight by your wedding day. You will be beautiful either way!

Welcome and Congrats on the upcoming wedding! You are already one of the most blessed women in the world because you have a found a man who loves you for you and the great woman you are. My DH and I have been married for 6 years, and I am trying to get my excess weight back off for him so that I can keep my blood sugar under control and live longer so we can be together. I also want him to think I look sexy when I get my muscles tightened up some. He sure doesn't care about that, but I do. Just like you said, I also want to love myself for him. I found many years ago that I have to lose weight weight and keep it off for me or I am not successful. The great hing is he gets the benefit of my efforts also. I also found that if you can eat primarily eat "real" foods it is better because I did one of those diet shake diets one time and the minute I went back to eating "real" foods, I gained it all back and then some. Just my $.02 worth.

Blessings,
