I am so happy to finally post that I made goal. I have been doing WW's for 4 years and I made goal on 10/23/02. I started 8/2/98 and lost @160 lbs. in 2 & 1/2 years and struggled for over 1 & 1/2 years trying to get to WW's goal of 145. I made a decision (with my leader agreeing) that I was going to get a Dr's note to change my goal weight to 160. I think your body just lets you know when it is at a comfortable weight. I went from a tight
28-30 to a size 12. I think I also have alot of muscle tone because my sister and I are in the same size and she weighs about 12-15 lbs. less than me. Plus what it says on the scale is only a number and I feel great and that is all that matters. I think that WW's truly saved my life and I am so happy for the day I walked in their door. I think that anyone can conquer their weight demons if they want it bad enough. Determination & perservence prevails. I said at my meeting when I made goal that I don't remember how it feels to be as obese as I was but I still do emotionally and I hope I never forget because that is what is going to keep me from ever going back.
Good luck to everyone who is on this journey and just take one day at a time, your day will come.
I am just starting on my road in Weight Watchers. I have lost ten pounds so far. I started at 244!
Please tell us how you did it. I have been OP since I started. There were a couple of days where I went over my points but I work out and that gives me an extra 2 points a day.
Please tell me any advice you can give. I would appreciate it.
I basically took it one day at a time. Looking at almost 200 lbs. to lose can be pretty hard and discouraging. I took 10 lbs. at a time.
Set small and attainable goals. In the beginning, I did as much exercise as I could (walk 20 mins/day). As I began to lose I was able to do more and work out longer. Now I run 3 miles/4x a wk. I also do strength training (3x a wk). Strength training is very important, it increases your metabolism and builds muscle which burns more fat. In regards to food, I always ate all of my points. One time I ate at the lower range and lost less that week. I think it's important to eat all that is allowed because your body needs fuel to run or it will shut down and weight loss will slow. I hope this helps. Take one day at a time and before you know you will be crossing that fininsh line. Believe me, I never thought I would ever be at this point. It can happen if you want it bad enough.
I gotta say, great accomplishment. I wish I could atleast lose 20 lbs before the end of the year, although that probably won't happen, one can dream, right? I think i'll walk/run 5 miles tomorrow...
How wonderful - Congrats!!!!
You are living proof that it can be done.
I have lost 49.5 so far have about 30 more to go
not putting a specific goal eight on it.
You are an inspiration, we all need that especially
some days, to hear how good the program is.
