Meeee- 3# in 3 weeks? And you were on vacation to boot! I would not sweat that one bit.......start drinking that water, babe and the #'s will come off.
Melody- hope you are feeling better!
Trob- a ski tourney?????? In summer? Am I missing something here?
Kerry- hope you make it thru the day at the park ok. Sounds long to me.
Gotta go.......see ya!
We are just moving about 4-5 miles from where we live now. We are moving from a rental house to a house we are buying that was just finished being built. We both still have the same jobs, but we'll have a much nicer house. It's been stressful since we've had to go through so much paperwork and we are also trying to buy new things for the house because a lot of our furniture is pretty worn out. Luckily, my husband made enough commission (he sells cars) this month to finish paying for the living room furniture so now all I have left to do is buy new furniture for my son's room since he has outgrown his toddler bed and needs a twin bed now. I taught summer school this summer to help pay for things, but finally the summer session is over and I have a little time off!
We are excited about the move, but anxious, too. Our rent will double, but we can make things work if we stop splurging on eating out, etc. My husband eats out for breakfast and lunch every day and he's going to stop that once we move and that will help make up the difference. Plus, I am going to apply to work at my school district's after school program to make extra money.
I'm sure my son would love to go on a cruise with you...he keeps seeing the commercials for cruises and thinks they are just wonderful. Maybe I can save up afford to send him on a cruise for high school graduation or college graduation since that gives me another 14-20 years to work on it.
Well, I finished packing up the mountains of toys and bag up quite a few to donate to The Salvation Army. Now all I really have to pack up are my closet, my storage closet, my bathroom, and the dishes we are currently using...
Evening Ladies,
I made it through my 13 hour day at the ball park. I did manage to get the backs of my legs sun burnt. Even though I put sunscreen on them. The only good thing about the sun burn is that it will eventually turn into a tan, so I won't have the very lightly tan legs anymore. LOL I have to go back tomorrow and sit for probably another 13 hours. But atleast I am getting paid to do it, so that helps. I think I am going to offer to work next weekend's boys tournments. I got to interact with some interesting people today so it wasn't all that bad. Just exhausting by the end of the day.
Robyn, thank you for the kind words. I love the support I get from you ladies. So that is my way of paying you ladies back by thinking through my posts. Glad to hear that you are feeling better. The movie Me, You and Depruee looks like it would be a great one to go see. I might just treat myself to a movie one evening. Or just wait until it comes out on video and either get it for free at the library or pay for it at the video store. You will take that 3 pounds off in no time. Just load up on your water to sink a cruise ship and continue your workouts at Curves. If you want to think about joining Curves during the school year, let me know before August 31st and I can mail you $100 off the Enrollment Fee coupon. Hope you enjoyed your day today!
Melody, I thought that was cute about the cruise and your son. I would love to go on a cruise someday. We have been asked by our friends to go with them sometime when they go in Feb. but they usually go for a week and I can't just take off in Feb. for a week. I would have to go without pay for a week and that would stretch us too thin. Plus I have my alternate assessments to do and get completed before the first of March. So I guess I will just have to dream about taking one someday either on a summer vacation or after I retire in like 21 or 25 years. Glad to hear that your packing is going along smoothly. Hope you were able to find sometime to do something fun and relaxing for yourself.
Ginny hope you made it through your busy day okay. It was a long day at the park. The county fair is going on in my town and that is where my one stepson wanted to go tonight. I had to tell him several times no we are not going. Finally after the 6 time of trying to gentley tell him no, I just had to hollar at him and say no we are not going because your daddy and I have been up since 5, at the ball fields since 6:30 a.m. and we have to do the same thing again tomorrow. If you want to go to the fair so bad, call up your mommy and have her take you. He said no I aint call mom, I will just stay at Grandma's house tonight. So my dh and I had the house to ourselves this evening and we were both too tired to even enjoy it. In fact, he is already in bed asleep and I am usually the first one to go to bed between the two of us. I think my problem might be the 32 oz. unsweetened tea I drank with my salad from Wendy's at 9 p.m. tonight for dinner. So I hope that I can go to bed shortly. Hope tomorrow is a little less busy for you and you are able to enjoy it some.
Hi to Trob, Mouse and Pam. Hope you all had a nice day today!
Well I am off to bed. Maybe if I lie down I will eventually fall asleep. Talk to you all tomorrow evening. Have a great Sunday!
Kerry
Here is wishing everyone a great Sunday! Hope you all have a great day! I am off to another day at the ball park. I just love parents who want their kids in sports, but don't want to have to pay to support their child's sport. I am sure I will get complained to again today about the $3.00 admission to the tournments. I am very tired this morning. I am even thinking about drinking coffee and i hate the stuff. Only real thing stopping me is the fact that it would make me have to pee all the time and I don't have access to a real bathroom where they are sticking me today. I would have to use a smelly port pottie! Yuck no thanks I will stick with being dog gone tired for a little while. While off we go to the ball fields. Talk to you all later. I hope you do something fun and relaxing for yourselves today. Think of me at the ball fields for day no.2. Take care.
Kerry
yes, it would be water skiing. even in the winter we don't get snow around these parts anymore.
melody, glad to hear that the packing is almost complete. for me the unpacking was the worst! even though we went up in sq ft. by 1000, there didn't seem to be a place for everything.
kerry- hope that you didn't dry up at the ball park today. thankfully we have over a week before our next big event and then things will really get crazy.
I am hoping that the unpacking won't be too bad since I am trying to be very organized about my packing. I am sure I will be throwing last minute stuff in a clothes basket, but for the most part everything is in boxes that are labeled for each room of the house. After I finish packing, then I have to start cleaning things like book shelves and TV's so that everything I take to the new house will be super clean and hopefully I can keep it that way.
i think that the biggest problem with our move was that we didn't actually move in anywhere for a year. we only unpacked clothes and a few toys when we moved in with my mom and everything else stayed in boxes. i was VERY organized with my packing since i knew that things would stay boxed for so long. i numbered each box and then in a notebook wrote down everything that was in that box. great system...right???? the problem was that we had a change in our closing date and had to do the last minute stuff very quickly. my sis helped out and she ended up packing my notebook. i found it in the last box that we unpacked last january....a 1.5 yrs after we moved into our new house.
hello!
my name is robyn and i'm a dewaholic. it has been just a few hours since my last dew...and man i'm beginning to feel the panic about not having any in the house... i NEED it! thanks for listening!
Hi. I am a Dewaholic, too. I quit drinking Diet Mountain Dew about 2 weeks ago and I don't crave it as much anymore. I have had one in those two weeks since I was offered one at my Mom's house. I have drank a few cups of diet coke, but not nearly as much as I used to. Normally, I would drink a 2 liter Diet Mountain Dew every day. I quit buying them though and now I drink water, Green Tea, and juice. My doctor told me that I had to quit drinking them because they are just so bad for you.
If the cravings for it get too bad, try chewing some gum.
Hi Robyn, I am glad that you came here for the support you need for you dew addiction. I hope we can help you ween yourself off the Code Red Dew. You did once before you can do it again. Just drink another couple glasses of water. YOu will be fine!
Trob I was stuck out in the middle of no where today sitting at the entrance to our high school ball fields which is about 1/4 of mile away from our pee wee ball fields. I took a book with me to read while I waited on people to come to that field and then I took their money. I only worked for 7 hours today. So it was nice to get off at 1:30. It took me another half hour to round up my dh and the stepkids. They wanted to stay longer, but daddy and Kerry said no we are tired and going home. But I did drink plenty of water and put sunscreen on every hour. I almost finished the book I was reading too. It is called Among the Heroes (about Flight 93 in the 9/11 incident). So I hope you can enjoy this coming week with before your ball tournments start.
Melody sounds like you have a very good organized plan for your move. I like your plan on trying to keep the new house clean and clutter free. I hope that works out for you. We have tried doing that with our rental. But with three stepkids some days that doesn't happen.
Hi to Ginny, Mouse, Susie and Pam. I hope you are having a great Sunday.
Well ladies I think I am going to and take me a nap since I was up at 5 again this morning.
This is how tired we were last night, there was a wreck in front of our house last night and we didn't even hear anything. We went out to get in my van this morning and there was a car sitting along the road across from our house with it's passagerside door bent all the way to the front. There was no one around it. So my dh called the police and reported it to cover ourselves. When we came home this afternoon, we saw it parked along one of the city streets,so it was someone from our town. We just wonder how they got home.
Well have a great afternoon ladies. I am off to take me a nap. Yay! Now watch the phone will either ring, someone will stop at our house or the kids will start fighting as soon as I lay down.
Talk to you later.
Take care,
Kerry
hi, all.
I've been here, but haven't done much. I finished my contract in Maryland Friday... I'm not sure if I'm going to do it next year or not. I wasn't overly fond of the trainer we had this year, or at least one of the other people in the room. They kept ragging on me for being too fast. Its not my fault I read fast! It wasn't like I was just arbitraily deciding what score to give the responses... I thought about it, and if we'd used the system we used last year, could have totally justified everything I did. So, I'll have to think about whether or not I want to do it; or if I do, if I want to do it with that particular group. I can also score for special education; the last two years I've done vocational education because my master's is in transition planning and I teach job skills to my kids, so that counts.
I've finished all the laundry from the trip, and am starting to work on the apartment... but at some point when I came home Wednesday, I pulled something. I must've done it when I tripped over my own feet (what else is new?). That means the laundry is in the basket still, unfolded. The carpet is still messy, and the place hasn't been dusted. I didn't get Imp's box totally cleaned out and emptied. I did get his waterer and feeder washed out good, at least... I bought a carpet flick at Target the other day cause I thought that might work better on cat fur and litter than the vaccuum cleaner.
I also bought one of those shower cleaner thingies.
Imp is still at my mom's house because since I hurt my ankle I can't do her steps well, and I can't stay there. Mom tried to capture him and bring him halfway to me, but he wouldn't cooperate! So... he'll be there another week.
Hopefully, I'll be able to walk better soon so I can get this place cleaned up!!!!! Its so bad, I'm embarrassed to even have a cleaning group come in here and do it!
I have to call my summer student tomorrow and see what days we're doing this coming week. I have some Red Cross stuff to do on Tuesday. I don't have time to be stuck here. I'm also supposed to start a class next week for that stupid highly qualified crud... but they've scheduled it so badly, that I'll wind up having to miss one whole day, and hours out of each because of the extended school year, and I already said that I'd work at the gym one of the days. I can't back out of that; they've already published the schedule!!! And the college students who were home are leaving, plus one of the other guards is pregnant and leaving. Its too hot for her to be in the pool room during the summer... its almost 100 degrees in there daily, and humid.
They just don't understand that you need to schedule this stuff well in advance or its not fair. I shouldn't have to change my schedule because they can't plan. This particular class I tried to get approved back in March.
I'm still trying to get them to give me the credits for English and History.
Huuuullllllllllo!!! Whats going on people?! Same ole same ole here! Sweating my bigfatfanny off! This weather is THE pits! ....and they say it isn't as warm as it has been.... sighhh.... Perhaps I am so sweaty warm due to having JUST returned from Curves. WHO goes to Curves at 11:00??? ME! I was determined to go...and so...well, I did! There was a real fun group there and I went around 1.5 times extra just goofing off and chatting with them! They also taught me how to do the dang hoola hoop! So... taking a bow....I did that for a bit too! It had been YEARS since I'd even tried that thanggg! It was fun! ...and it took effort and concentration! Anyway!
Workout for Monday...DONE!
I'm happy to say that I've been MountainDew Free since Saturday.......and I've not killed anyone yet. Considered it only twice.... Yesterday I even walked right by the CodeRed display in the grocery...and I ignored the evil CHANTS from those bottles and cans of "Robynnnnn....you wannnnnt meeee! Robynnnnn....you NEEEEEDDDD me!" I call that a NSV! LOL Devil water, it is! Anyway....I will survive without it.... but WHYYYYYY would I want to?! Oh yeah, I don't need it! I don't want it! The MountainDew monkey seems to still be on my back a bit...but...by Wednesday.... I will be done with this battle! :0)
Oh, before I forget. I am currently under the doctors supervision for my migraine headaches. I finally gave up (actually I got scared when I couldn't see "right"!) and called the doctor. She is sure that what I have are something the other sinus related something migraines. (Once I realized that I wasn't dying....I sorta went on overdrive and just listened to how to make IT stop!) I am on a cocktail of three OTC medicines to get relief. I would NEVER take this stuff like this without her telling me to!
She has already called me today to make sure that I am feeling better...
I did notice that I slept...I mean REALLY slept last night for the first time since coming home from Florida! Yahooo!
Kerry, glad to hear that you survived the weekend fun! I had to laugh (in Beavis and Butthead style) at your use of the term "PeeWee field" for the place that you had no access to a real restroom..... I swear....hanging out with my 11 and 14 yo boys is REALLY warping my brain! Glad that the accident wasn't something that they needed to wake you up for!
Trob and Melody: Several years ago, I had the need to pack my classroom ....and was rather insane over using my notebook to inventory my "stuff".... it was the best thing that I did! (...and that notebook NEVER EVER left my hands! I was scared that the same thing....IT getting packed!....would happen!) I have moved for the last two summers.... the first move had to happen quickly and had to go from a huge classroom to a teeny one.... I didn't do the notebook...and OMG, I'll never know where things went...and I'm certain that things got thrown away that should have NEVER gotten thrown out! (and years of crap that needed to be trashed!) Last summer, I did better! I highly recommend being really really organized to a fault .....if they aren't making fun of you....you're not there yet! LOL
Trob, so. Freshman. You like that idea? I'm still in shock! Where did the time go?!
Melody, good luck with the move and all! Moving JUST far enough that everything needs to be DONE! So, is RJ ready for our cruise? My sister and her 5 year old daughter and husband are going to Disney tomorrow....
Disney ....July....5 year old.... I'm glad to be here in Virginia! I hope they have a wonderful time! (O M Gawwwd!)
Mouse: Glad you're home. Sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your time / group. Sorry to hear that you've hurt your ankle again! It was about time for it to flare up anyway....wasn't it?! How are you standing not having your kitty with you? It would get so lonely without someone clawing my toes or sleeping on my chest or meowing in my face when breakfast isn't served on time! Let me know how that Flick thing works! I'm nearly certain that I'm going to buy one of those zillion dollar vaccum cleaners that they say are so good for pet related issues. My mother has one...and I have to tell you.... it is SOMETHING else! BUT...also... it should be SOMETHING else considering the $$$$$pricetag$$$$$
Gin, honey..... We are heading to Hatteras on Friday evening....actually we will wait until around midnight.... all the crazy northerners (hehehehe) will have rushed thru and gotten there ....and the heat will be less.... We are so excited to be going for Saturday, Sunday and Monday! Dh has managed to get 3 days off in a row! Holey smokes! Can you stand it? (It is times like these that make me lust after his old job..... sighhhhhhh!) So when do you go? You think we could figure something out so that we could post a photo of the 2 of us together on this site to make the rest of our gang jealous?! hehehee..... I can dream, can't I?
Hello to anyone that I may have missed! I'm going to shower and then get some lunch!
Take care,
meeeeee
p.s. anyone else not liking the new red ad in the corner? I've never seen one like that....and it is so distracting! Is there still a way to pay to not have ads on here?
Good job on doing the workout today! I would love to try Curves, but since my husband works late hours it would be hard for me to go since I don't have a babysitter for R.J. I think I will get enough exercise when we move because we have nice sidewalks and I can walk around with R.J. while he rides his Electric Monster Truck or his Shrek Scooter.
By this time on Wednesday, I should be signing papers on my house! I am so excited! I have bought a house before, but it was a really old fixer upper...nothing like the brand new one we are getting now. I am going to be such a clean freak after we move because I am going to want the house to look perfect fovever! Of course, I know that's not possible with a 4 year old rambunctios boy!
melody- glad that the end is in sight with the house. i was so nervous when we bought our last house until everything was signed. good luck!!
mermaid- i moved classrooms may of 2005 after teaching in the same classroom for 16 yrs. teaching k-1. i knew that i would be changing from reg. classroom to art but did not know what school that i would be based out of. i found out two wks before school started where i would be. i had tried to be very organized when i packed but it didn't
help a whole lot.
i am not happy about my son being a 9th grader but what can i do. i am just trying to enjoy every minute i have with him because i know those days are limited.
hope everyone is having a great day!! it is still hotter than heck here. they say that it is cooler but you can't tell much difference between 99 and 105 in arkansas. later!
