I have a tendency to gain over the weekend. I work all week at a desk and am able to stay OP and drink all my water, but the weekend is a challenge for me. I forget to eat and don't drink all the water. So, of course, I am up on Monday.

My challenge to myself this weekend is to lose 2 pounds by Tuesday. If I do, I will sign the 50 pound board!

Good luck!

Some of you have motioned cravings…have you checked out the thread for recipes? I only say that because some of them say that they are good for fighting cravings. I haven’t tried them yet (not much of a cook) but it might be helpful?

Hello all!

Haven't posted in a while because have been busy with teenagers. Six living in my house (three are mine) and only one with a driver's license. I spend too much time driving even though I'm constantly harping, "Let's CONDENSE these errands, kids!"

Candice, I'm glad to see you posting again. I took care of my parents and father-in-law so I know the challenges you are facing. I'm also a nurse so if you ever need to vent or some advice, feel free to PM me or e-mail at [email protected].

momoffour-congratulations. You are really a motivator for me.

Jen- what a pleasant surprise with the lab coats. I remember walking through the ER one day and my pants slid halfway down my butt to the amusement of the nurses passing me and the patients congregated in the halls. I wasn't embarrassed though. I was happy. It took two weeks to get small scrub pants (from a large) in the mail and I spent two weeks at work hitching up my pants. Not easy to do when you're holding pressure on a knife wound and you feel them slip. One time I was relieving a respiratory therapist in doing CPR and he held my pants up while I did compressions.

Patzi- hope you do well today. I'm right in your shadow trying to absorb all your experiences so I'll know what to expect when I do stabilization.

evinsmom--Some days are hard for me too. Last night I baked three desserts and had mushroom soup pork chops, cheese-covered asparagus, and brown riceffor a crowd of people who were helping rebuild the barn. I wanted so bad to eat pork chops and banana cream pie but stuck to my fish and plain asparagus. Just make it a point to drink a third of your water by noon, a third by three, and the rest by sevenish. That's how I get mine in easily.

Everyone stay OP this weekend and let the scales tell their tales the first of the week!

Weighed in today and maintained since Tuesday. Kinda frustrating considering I'm doing Meta-Quick this week, but I know it's because I'm PMSing. I usually have a big loss towards the end of TTOM without doing Meta-Quick, so hopefully it will all snowball with a massive loss. We'll see.

Jen, I've been thimking about this same issue.TOM is due, especially since I have two periods a month, and I wanted to drop a bunch of weight to hold me over psychologically during that time.

As is it, the last eight (almost nine) pounds will take forever.

Thanks little edie!

My mom is doing pretty good. She's able to bear weight on her right foot and she's moving around a lot better. I'm actually taking her to get her hair done at 3:30 this afternoon. And tomorrow she has a nail appointment at 11am. She is getting a little frustrated with my cooking. She says she wants REAL food. I just laugh and say, "this is REAL food." My sister in law has been bringing food over from their leftovers but they will be on vacation next week. I'm sure I will make a couple trips to fast food resturaunts for my mom.

I went for my WI this morning. Before I stepped on the scale.. me and the consultant looked at each other, took deep breaths and she said, "We're going for 268?". I said, "Yep! 268 and I sign the 60lb board." She said, "well get on there!." Then she clapped and said, "YAH! Oh wait! Hurry! Take something off!" I looked down and saw 268.5 and said What?!? She said, "Hurry! Give me your watch!" I took my watch off and BAM! 268!! I know my watch doesn't weigh .5lbs but it was enough to push me down. We high fived and the center manager came in and I high fived her. The consultants were peeking out of their rooms to congratulate me. Day 105 and 60lbs down! That's just amazing to me! I'm ecstatic!

I'm off to update my ticker and change my picture

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

*Had to edit this... I'm no longer classified as Morbidly Obese! I'm just Obese now! HA!

I WI today and am down 2.5, so that takes me to 26 total. (still can't figure out how to change my profile info) I'm a little surprised, as I was NOT good over the 4th of July weekend. I'm so busy and stressed right now that I'm just sort of "modifying" as I go along, using bars and HNS's--I guess it's working. I'm actually sort of ready for school to start again for the kids so we can get back to a routine. I'd really like to see a good loss this week, because I'll go to the green menu next and hope that will jump-start me a little. It's slow going, but it's working.

Congrats to all who've lost this week!

Candi--your story of losing while on "vacation" has inspired me to work really hard while I'm on vacation next week to still show a loss when I come back! We shall see!

The problem won't be making OP choices, but it will be that every meal will be out because we are in a hotel for 7 nights--no kitchen! I was planning to buy some ready to drink shakes and vanilla wafers to help me out (I have never used them before, but thought I might fill in some of the out to eat lunches with them), but my center has been out of both ALL week! So, at Wal-mart, I bought some protein shakes. I don't know what the nutrition information is on the MRC ones (if anyone would like to tell me, I'd appreciate it so I can compare),but I looked for one high in protein, low in calories, fat and carbs (17g protein, 110 cal, 2 carbs, 3g fat and 1 g fiber).

I am also confused with the whole fish oil (EFA) situation...I bought the MRC EFA for the first two months. However, in an effort to cut down some of the costs, I switched to one from Walgreens this month (because they often run their vitamins buy one get one free). The one I bought is 1200 mg of fish oil total and it says, "Total Omega 3 Fatty Acids 684mg." That's for one capsule and it says to take one time a day. When I compared it to the MRC one, it seemed like that was equivalent. BUT, the consultants are telling me I need 9000 mg of fish oil and that is what I was getting from theirs. So, they say I need to take NINE of the ones I bought to get the same amount. Here's where I get confused...On the MRC bottle, it says, "Total Omega 3 Fatty Acids = 0.5g (500mg) and Total Omega 6 Fatty Acids = 0.2g (200mg)." However, this is not per capsule, the serving size says THREE capsules. They had me taking TWO capsules before each meal, for a total of SIX per day, which would be TWO total servings. How does that add up to 9000mg?!!! I thought I was pretty good at math, but this doesn't seem to add up to me! I know I've seen on other posts in this forum that people have been told they should be getting 9000mg of fish oil a day, so I think that's what they tell everyone. What I don't get is how the MRC fish oil is providing that and the consultant I talked to today couldn't explain it to me. She said she gets never remembers how to convert grams to mg, etc. I told her 1000mg=1 gm, but she still couldn't really explain it. But, she did scare me that I might not be getting enough of the EFA. She made the comment, "I wish you would have just kept taking ours." Can someone help me understand this here and explain how the MRC dose of EFA is providing the required 9000 mg per day?!

I'm also taking myself off the Corti-trim and using an over the counter multivitamin, but I didn't even "go there" with her today!!!

Sorry for such a long post, but my sister and I are struggling with the same issue and we thought we had it figured out, until I asked at the center today! I wouldn't be so concerned, except that I don't want to risk my health!

I was told to take 3 MRC fish oil capsules per meal. But if they're only 700mg of fish oil, you're right that that's not 9,000.

Default First Weigh-In

I had my food instruction class this evening and my first weigh-in. I lost 7 lbs on pre-conditioning! Yay! I'll start the meta-slim plus level 4 plan on Monday per their instructions. I wonder why not tomorrow...didn't even think to ask. I go to the conference Sunday night, but after looking at the plan, I still think it should be do-able.

I went ahead and purchased a package and hope that it all really helps and that it is a while before I have to shell out any more money. In two weeks, I've spent like $700 but I said that'll be my motivation to stay on program.

Candi - congrats on your amazing success. I just hope that I can have some increment of the loss that you've experienced.

All of your ladies are such an inspiration - so many near their goal weight, on stabilization, etc. It really does give me hope that I'll be successful also.

Goneforgood - Staying in a hotel with a kitchen was what kept me on track. I knew I couldn't afford to eat out each meal but I really couldn't afford to put my diet on hold for a week. Good luck to you and just remember to have fun!

As for the Fish Oil. I take 2 Krill everyday. 1 at breakfast and 1 at dinner. I've taken Fish oil pills before and hated it. I would ask your center about taking Krill instead. I buy mine at Walgreens - just the generic Walgreens brand and wait for them to be BOGO free.

Congrats to all the losers! I actually love being called that now :-) Well, under the right context

I know a few people have emailed me for the food sheet - I will get that sent out tomorrow! I'm pooped so I'm heading to bed.

Oh, Jen, sometimes they last three weeks. I'm now taking Provera but it only helps a little.

I'm looking forward to menopause. Or a job with insurance so I can get that hysterectomy.

Candice, it is no wonder you are literally the poster girl for successful weight loss. You must look forward to getting on those scales. I'm very happy for you.

coarkkayaker, is that a yorkie in your avatar? My oldest yorkie, Harvey Fierstein, just turned ten on Fourth of July. My youngest, Oscar Hammerstein, is only a year and a half.

LovesToRead, just read Room. Very riveting.

Welcome and Congrats on your loss!

The money shelled out is a definite motivator but knowing you are getting healthier and thinner is what keeps me on track.

I hope all goes well at your conference.
