Last week when I went to the sleep doctor for my initial consultation, the nurse was asking me about my medical history & continued with, "And you're pregnant?" And I said, "No." I didn't cry. I didn't get angry or indignant. I didn't let it phase me. That is huge for me.

Also over the weekend I was @ a birthday party for my stepdad's mother & her lawn chairs are from like 1965 & have rust on them near the bolts. I made the mistake of sitting in one & when I leaned forward to lift my dog onto my lap, the bolts gave out & the chair broke. But I didn't cry. I didn't get angry or indignant. I didn't let it phase me.

Most important about these ^ 2 is I didn't run straight for a big bowl of mac and cheese or a whole order of garlic bread, or a big hot fudge sundae. Yes, it would have been DEVASTATING in public to have broken a chair. But in front of family, it was only mildly embarrassing.

And as for the nurse, she cannot help it. My legs & butt are getting smaller thanks to walking & my stomach is not moving, so I can see why she might have thought that. I'm not angry about it. And I'm NOT comfort eating.

I have a size 14 pair on jeans that I bought this spring. I look at them once in a while and hope they will fit me soon. Yesterday I decided to try them on just for laughs. They looked way to small for my butt. Guess what they fit. They are not tight at all. If fact another few pounds and they will be loose. I can't believe I'm in a size 14. I can't wait for 12's

I've had 3 NSV's this week.

first, not diet related but related to learning self control, so I guess it's kinda diet related.
- As president of our Street Performer's Association I deal with a LOT of difficult artsy types. The VP is a total nightmare and he drives me nuts. At Sunday's meeting I did not cuss at him, not even one time. Thought about it, but didn't actually say it. A huge step up for me, especially since he deserved to be cussed at while someone was stapling his lips shut.

- At the mall I gave in to my serious weakness for those high fat yummy pretzels. It's a NSV because I only ate 1/3 of a pretzel. I walked away from the tasty fat ridden goodness that I so love.

- And finally I went for a 1mile walk today even though my back was killing me. I didn't want to, but the moving around did make me feel much better.

Great NSVs, everyone!

I'm taking a class this week with some fellow teachers, and yesterday I complained to one of them about how cold it was in the room. She looked down at my body and said, "Well, when there's nothing left of you, that's what happens." I said, "Yeah, I did lose quite a bit of my fat blanket!"

Yesterday I put on this sports bra that has been tight for the past 3 yrs( size xl or xxl), but it is tight under the breast area. Yesterday if felt great on, it fit just perfect.

I tried on my size twenty-twos that were too tight to wear this summer-- they're snug, but they fit.

Also, I threw away my son's extra french toast pieces instead of popping them in my mouth!

Thanks everyone for the support about my son. On Sunday night, I got great news. He gets to come home next week. His Unit isn't being deployed at this time and they are now rescheduled to do Desert Training again next April as some of the men in his Unit weren't "Up to Par to be Deployed". Can I say "Hooray, for the screw'-ups". LOL. Seriously though a few of them had recently been sick and weren't able to perform like was expected. Anyway, I'm just happy he is coming home.

My NSV is from the family reunion we had on Saturday. My DH's Aunt that is about 80 yrs. old just kept staring at me. She thought DH had got a new wife. LOL , and then she said "Oh, Lily, that is You, My God you've lost a lot of weight".

After a not so great weekend of eating, I put on my biggest jeans today because I just felt bigger. (size6's) Well, I gotta go change jeans cause these are sagging off my butt and the crotch is at my knees. LOL, so I guess I'm not any bigger. Too chicken to get on the scale. LOL.

My other NSV. Last night and me, my DD, my 2 SD's and some of their friends all had Hula Hoop contests. LOL, I could do it longer than any of the teenagers. LOL.

People kept calling me skinny today, which is crazy but I appreciate it nonetheless. Coworkers, students, everyone I ran into. It was lovely!

Another NSV was that I managed to get in a workout even though the fates were against me doing it. I had insomnia last night, so I got about 2 hours of sleep. My scheduled 8-mile run at 6am was completely out of the question, even though I was awake (I'll have to do that tomorrow). I went to the gym after my class, though, prepared to do the elliptical for as long as possible even though I was seriously tired from lack of sleep. When I got there, I dropped one of my socks in the toilet while I was changing. Eek! So I did 40 minutes anyway, without socks. Felt weird, but oh well. I got a workout in!

I had my first nutritionist appt. in 14 years. Of course I had to weigh in, and was very relieved that their scale matched what mine read this morning! I told the Dr. what I weighed in April at my last check-up and she did some quick math and then SMILED at me! She was pleased with my progress! YIPPEE!!! She had nothing negative to say about what I am eating, even tho she dropped my calorie range down some. She was also pleased that I am lifting weights 3x's a week. At the end of the hour, I left in a good mood and re-committed to these changes!

My "shelf" is gone. You know when you are fat that and your stomach is so large that you can rest books, plates, and everything else on it . . . that is my self and now it is gone. I have to sit either at a table or with my knees on my chest inorder to have something in front of me.

That's amazing! Good job!

I've stayed on plan today (food-wise). I input it all into calorie-count and I have calories to spare!

We've had an absolutely mad couple of days at work - after our quiet couple of months it seems that winter has arrived with a vengeance. Since last Thursday we've had tornadoes affecting 3 parts of the country, a severe frost in the south and yesterday a massive storm hit the northern parts of the country. I work in the claims department for an insurance company, so I'll leave you to imagine just how busy my week has been so far...

Anyway, management broke out the chocolate and sweets today as a reward and I didn't eat any! In fact, I gave mine away. I've also worked 3 hours overtime and instead of grabbing a takeaway I've reheated soup in the microwave and had it with toast for dinner.

And tomorrow is going to be more of the same. Kill me now...

Such incredible NSV's.

I had a biggie yesterday. A 2 in 1 so to speak.

I was out shopping with a good friend. It's getting late, she asks me if I mind stopping on the way home for a slice of pizza. I say sure. Now I know in my head right after the pizza, I'm going directly home, about 5 minutes from the pizza place. She orders her pizza and I get a diet snapple. Now mind you I have no problem with a slice of pizza every now and then. But I had ZERO desire for a slice. Not even a little tiny bit. I actually was looking forward to and couldn't wait to get home and eat my delicious "regular" lunch. My snapple was quite good though, I must say.

So, it's been months and months since I've been to my old stomping grounds, my neighbor pizza joint where we are, and I slide into the booth and I am amazed, simply amazed at how much room I have. In the old days I had to stuff myself into that darn booth, absolutely STUFF myself - and now - I just can't believe how much extra space there is. It was totally mind blowing.
