We had a meeting earlier this week. I had to pick up the breakfast. There were two boxes of muffins (huge muffins), scones and croissants. I picked them up, took them to the meeting, placed them on trays, sat right next to them for an hour, packed them up, and gave ALL the leftovers away as people were leaving. I didn't even lick my fingers.

I'd also put some strawberries and grapes on the tray. Those went home with me.

The smell was overwhelming. But you know what? The momentary satisfaction wouldn't have been worth it...and I was able to control it.

DD21 bought a strapless white dress that had a Hawaiian type print last year to go on a cruise. It had a slight net petticoat underneath it. It was short length, but had this big full skirt(something out of the 50's almost).
I can't think of a reason for me to wear it anywhere.I have loved it ever since she bought it.
I have been trying it on for a couple of months and today I got the zipper up. Now there is no wiggle room-but it's on me and getting there !

I'm into week two of my walking, and today........I was actually looking FORWARD to it. Usually I dread it, thinking about all the huffing and puffing and sweating and sore muscles... But today I was eager to get out there. In fact, I did it so early in the day, I was thinking of going again tonight if it doesn't rain. I still huff and puff and sweat up a storm, but it feels GOOD! And my legs are finally starting to be only sore after walking, instead of feeling like they are going to fall off. Forget the fact I only lost one pound, I'm starting to FEEL better. WOO HOO!

I just made a trip up to our local Dollar Store. They were giving away free Hotdogs, Hamburgers, Chips and Soda. I refused the free food but still gave a donation for the Literacy Council that they were doing the charity for. Three different ladies tried to get me to take the food, I just said "that I'm allergic to it" as I didn't want to explain that I just simply don't eat that stuff.

I love that! My favorite excuse is the nebulous, "medical reasons." You're very inspiring because I still can't get my head around the idea that once I'm at goal weight, I still won't be able to eat this stuff. Fortunately (maybe?), I've got quite a long time to let that sink in before I'm at my goal weight.

Does wearing a bathing suit in public for the first time in 30+ years count as a NSV? All I know is that the water felt really good and I did laps for 45 minutes- of course they were slow laps, very very sloppy strokes and I did worry about drowning several times but I kept on going!

Bathing suit in public?!? Definite NSV!!!! Congrats!

Congrats to everyone on the great NSVs already this month!!

At work this week one of the ladies that I haven't seen for a few months called me "the disappearing nurse." Totally made me laugh. She said that she didn't recognize me at first. Then all night long she kept making comments about my weight loss. It's the first time I've ever got the not recognize comment. It's kind of a weird feeling. Very cool though!! She totally made my night!!

We had a big barbeque last night for the 4th. The food was great and I ate more than I usually would, but not too far off plan. I so love feeling like I'm in control of the food instead of the food being in control of me. And I had a great time without stuffing my face!

Great job on the skirt, the dress and the swimsuit. I also have a problem when I try on clothes. I automatically pick up the biggest size. But it's awfully fun to go back and get a SMALLER one instead of going back to look for a bigger one, isn't it??

Not sure if any of you remember me mentioning that I have a jean skirt hanging to remind me that it was a goal for me to get into it. When I first started in January, I tried it on and it was T.I.G.H.T. !!! Welllllllllllllllllll, this morning I tried it on just for kicks to see how far I have come and it FITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In fact, it is a little loose in the waist, but it fits in the hips and legs (which are HUGE problem areas for me with clothing). I'm SO ESTATIC!!!!!!!!!!! YEEEEEEEEEEHAWWWWWWWWWWWW! I just cannot believe it fits!!!! I really thought I would have to lose at least 65 lbs to get into it. Boy, I'm on now!!!

EDITED TO ADD: I just cleaned out about 12 pieces of clothing from my closet that are now TOO BIG (did *I* say that they are too big for *ME*?)!!!!

Also, today is measuring day. I have now lost 32.5 total-body inches!!!!

Definitely fuels the "want to" to keep GOING!!!

Congratulations everyone!

Melissa, YAY on the swimsuit. I think that is a HUGE NSV.

My NSV is that I stayed completely on plan yesterday. I feel like I have gotten my exercise back into its routine again also, which had been very unstable lately. It feels so great to be exercising again regularly.

Great job, Ritzy! I have a denim skirt I've been waiting to try on. You've given me the courage to go home and give it a try!

Do yourself the favor and DO IT! I really and truly thought that it would be a little snug when I tried it on today - I really didn't anticipate that it would fit just yet. But boy howdy....when it did, I about had a jubilee!!!

It is a wonderful motivator, to say the least! Definitely do it! And, if it is still too big to wear, you will still probably notice progress. That is enough to have a jubilee over too!

Great job on the BMI! I hate that a&%^$ chart, but I live for the day I'll be "normal"! Right now I'm trying to get to "overweight" which, if it weren't for the chart, would probably be my goal. I weighed 172 for probably 10 years and always thought I was pretty much okay, but NO! That's overweight! So I'm going to get to 145 (normal) and have a look around. Might be too low of a weight for my build, but I AM going to get there!

And here's a little NSV - my husband just told me over lunch to go buy some shorts, for Lord's sake, those are going to fall off if you're not careful. Here's the best part - I just bought these at the beginning of summer to replace the ones that were falling off! YIPPEE!

Today is my official One year Anniversary of Maintenance. I'm counting this as a Big NSV.

Last night I got some really bad news from DH. My son is stationed in California right now for Desert Training (Army). He was due to come home in 2 weeks. We just learned there is a Great Possibility that he is being deployed straight to Afghanistan instead of getting to come home. DH and I were both very upset to say the least. I wanted an Ice Cream Blizzard to comfort me but instead I put on my jogging shoes and went for a long walk/jog by myself to sort my feelings out. I caught myself in time and realized that stuffing my face during this time of stess wouldn't help matters at all. I hope and pray that I am able to find this same strength during his absence.
