    first...I must have a VERY misguided sense of what Alaska is like, to me it has snow year-round

    second...I personally invite you, EagleRiverDee, to please come to beautiful Lake Elmore, Vermont, and shovel snow with me weight-bearing cardio!!
  • We've got snow on the grass this morning, but I think we'll get out to our family Christmas celebration with no shoveling involved. By the time we leave it will be above freezing and sunny for a couple of hours. Still, it's kind of fun to see a bit of snow on our Christmas.

    Nope, definitely not snowy year round! Our summer temps in my area can be 80 degrees. We've had 90. Up north (I know this sounds counterintuitive) in the interior they get temps as low as -60 in the winter and as high as 100 in the summer.

    I was in Vermont a couple years ago, drove up from NY and stayed in Craftsbury. Drove up into Montreal, also, from there. It was a nice trip. But it was late fall when it was cooler but not yet snowy. Too late for the fall colors, though.

    We only have a couple of inches of snow where I'm at right now!
