Newbie to this running thing. I signed up for the 3FC 5K and on that thread heard about the C25K program. I downloaded the podcasts last night. I am off to the gym for W1D1, once I finish the podcast I will walk until I hit the
5K mark. I have been walking and or ellipticalling (is that a word??) for 30 to 60 minutes a day for over 2 months now. I think the first couple weeks will be ok...I am a bit nervous about the week 3 and beyond. BUT I WILL SUCCEED!!!

Tuesday I did a proper W5D2 - and I second Berner here, it's such a great feeling for me to be able to run 8 min. straight. Thursday was a bit of a letdown - I was in a rush, dressed way too warmly for the newly springlike weather, and probably overdoing it on the track. Bottom line is that I hit the wall 3 min. into my second run. I walked for five minutes and used the 5 min. cool-down to round out the overall running time, *then* did a short cool-down period additionally. So it was OK in the end, I guess, but it did discourage me a bit from attempting the 20 min. run any time soon. Today I'll try the 2x8 min. again and see how it goes. Wish me luck, OK?

I did it! I did it! W5D3! I ran for 20 minutes straight!
