I was such a cool runner this morning!
I used my mp3 and earbuds for the first time (liked the music, not the earpieces).
And that which really "cooled" me was the fact that it was raining lightly the majority of the time I was out there. Fabulous!

Good afternoon gals. I'm doing the last day of week 3 today and hopefully day 1 of week 4 tomorrow depending on hour the legs feel. Also looking at some sneaks to purchase as mine are getting close to seeing their last days. Any New Balance users?

I use sneaks called brooks. Apparently they are good for my bunions-- oh the aging process...

[QUOTE=Tyler Durden;2243128]I did the c25k in early June of 2006. [QUOTE]
That is SO awesome! You never thought you would be a runner, and now 2 years later you are still running, and 5 and 6 miles, that is SO great.

Good Morning! I did D1W4 yesterday and was able to do two additional 3 minute intervals at the end. I've got to take today off as my legs are begging for it! I'm getting to the point where I really enjoy running. I have had a stressful week and just pushing through and running really clears my head.

Great job, Heather! I do think running is an excellent stress reliever!

This morning I ran 2.20 miles, kinda short, but the heat was just awful and I didn't get out there early enough. I came home and jumped on my bike and went biking to get some extra time in, at least there is a self-generated breeze when biking!

Heather - I just jumped in this month, I have just shared where I am with my running level, tell everyone how my runs go, and ask questions and answer questions that I can. Welcome! =)

Hi Heather, we use this thread to talk all things running-related (our runs, our gear, our plans, whatever), so feel free to just jump in and talk about anything of interest to you. Welcome!

Morning Gang! I can't believe June is just about over, it went by so fast!

I did 7.08 miles this morning around 5:30 am and it may have been my best run in months. It was one of those runs where you suddenly seem to be able to go faster more easily, and can run forever. Had good rhythm and everything "felt right". I went over the big bridge in my area twice (over and back), too, and had no problems at all even though I really haven't been hill training. I think it has to do with all the good base I've put in. Any way, it was one of those runs that give you a "high" and make you addicted to running. I love those!

I am SO jealous Josephine!

I tried running w2d1 of the c25k this morning. I swear I never learn. I'd taken almost two weeks off and jumped right in to week 2, and it was my first attempt running outside. I almost finished the entire course, but I had to stop because I couldn't breathe at all. I've been home cooling off for 20 minutes, and my lungs still hurt - and for the first time in my life I'm WHEEZING! That's right. Eski (who just got glasses, mind you!) is making the nerd sound.

I'm hot. I'm tired. I have a very painful sinus headache since running. And I'm wheezing.

And it's the first time I've been up this early in MONTHS - I tell you!!!

But I'm going to try it again tomorrow!!

Sneezey and wheezily yours,
Eski.

Hi all, have to do w2d3 today but hoping to do it this afternoon. I will let you all know how it goes. I downloaded the w2 podcast to make it easier on myself.

I have to say that I am really kind of amazed by c25k. I have never been a runner and thought I couldn't--I had knee problems early in college from running up hills and stairs during my brief rowing career, and then the next year, I broke my ankle in 2 places. (22 years later, it still hurts when I walk on pavement for too long.)

But I've spent lots and lots of time on the elliptical these past 7 years, and in a what the **** kind of mood, I thought I'd just try c25k with the understanding that I might have to stop. But 7-8 weeks in, I haven't had to stop, and I've been able to run for almost 30 minutes non-stop.

What's interesting to me is that, in some ways, I find running on the treadmill harder, even though I know it's easier on the joints. Last Monday, I was supposed to run 25 minutes, for the last day of W7D3, but I ended up going almost 30 (outside). But on Thursday, when I tried to do 28 minutes on the treadmill, I had to stop in the middle. (I ran 13, walked 2, and then ran 13.) I don't know if it's that I'm trying to go faster on the treadmill (though I seem to be averaging 12 minute miles inside and outside) or just that I can see the minutes going by. I'm going to try to go 28 outside today and see how it goes.

But really, I'm amazed. In the first few weeks, running 3 minutes was a challenge, and now it's not. I still feel like I'm going to have to run somewhat sparingly and as a part of my larger workout routine--so far 3 times a week has been okay, but more might be too much--but I'm so delighted that I can run at all. 8 weeks ago, I wouldn't have believed it.

Awesome, Suecd! I think running 3 times a week is a great addition to other workouts!
