Hey everyone! I am doing the c25k and today is w4d1. I am really excited and I feel so good about myself when I finish that days workout! DH and my best friend are also doing the program. We are running a 5K at the end of August, wish us luck!!!
Josephine- You are my hero, wow 6 miles!?!? You go girl!
I finished W1D2, go me, this time I was on the treadmill because it was dark outside. I actually liked being on the treadmill because it was SUCH a challenge. I ended up on the treadmill for 35 minutes by the time I finished the 2 miles, wow very slow. On the streets I can get done faster. Really proud of myself and glad I have you all to thank for your support!
Great job Vix, don't even worry about speed one bit! It just isn't important at this point.
By the way, I love to run in the dark, but I guess it depends on where you live and how DARK it is. But I generally like to get my runs in before sun up or after sun down! It is so much more peaceful -- and COOL!
Well, I did push up the speed to 4.2 mph on the treadmill this morning for my 2 mile run.
I could definitely feel myself working a bit harder. Towards the end of my *final-minute-sprint I started to feel like I would puke if I pushed myself much harder for much longer!
So, it was a good work-out!
*I have always sprinted at the end of all the runs I do, no matter how long my run was. It's because I like to show myself that I always have more to give, even when I think I'm tapped out, and for me it's a good way to end my runs.
WHen I ran, I would picture my hips & legs shaping up
About 18 months ago I had an aborted mission to lose baby weight. I decided that if I couldn't change my eating at least I'd get serious about working out. I worked with a private trainer and she contracted with me to go running when I was away on vacation with my family.... here's my point:
when I'd do my runs I imagined myself in formal clothing standing at the top of a red carpet somewhere giving a speech of thanks... "and I couldn't have done it w/o the support of my loving husband....." That fantasy kept my moving and smiling.
Of course, I didn't change my way of eating so the mission failed. This time it's exercise and eating right!! and funny, I don't have that image anymore when I run...

I always pictured myself crossing a marathon finish line and still smiling and hamming up for the victory photo. I still picture that!
This morning I did 5.25 amid a pack of freakishly bold squirrels, one of which actually chased me several times. Either I look like a giant peanut or I smell like one!

Mother nature Josephine with rabid creatures. Watch her run!!
I've been thinking about why I no longer have that image and I think b/c I recognize this time it's all driven and accomplished by me, myself and I!! (of course, sweet DH does help me out by giving me the opps to work out )
